The porch turned out great! Gary and his team paid attention to detail, answered questions promptly and explained the process thoroughly from permitting to final acceptance. The project took a little longer than expected, but this was during covid and the various issues with the supply chain. Great service and a wonderful product was supplied despite the challenges in early 2021.

We got an excellent quality porch built for the price quoted. Gary was also great to work with.

We have been wanting to renovate our condo for many years,but it’s difficult when you live remotely. It’s a tough situation. You need to find a company trustworthy enough to hand over your keys and have faith that they will do the job efficiently making your dreams come true. From the moment we met Gary we felt a comfort. He was honest and an excellent listener. He loves to talk too.We felt confident handing over the keys to him and James. We know it wasn’t the easiest job for them,but they did an incredible job of listening to what we want and making our condo the place we envisioned. Being remote and wondering if it will all work out is frightening enough, but Gary and James made it as reassuring as they could. We highly recommend them.

Late in 2019, my wife and I were presented with an opportunity to purchase a condo in NMB adjacent to a unit owned by my parents for 20 years. We had been in the unit previously and had pictures from a rental site available, so we felt good about this even though we had not been in the market to purchase a property. Because of the location we couldn't pass on it. Unfortunately, during the inspection we found that the condo had fallen into considerable disrepair. If we were to proceed with the purchase, we were looking at a total gut job (the kitchen, the bathrooms, the flooring, electrical...everything) and we had ZERO experience with such a project. We interviewed a couple of contractors that were referred by different sources, but we didn't have a good feeling about either. We were growing frustrated and, because we live 3 hours from NMB, we we were growing concerned about a renovation being done when we would have limited availability to assess the progress. So I turned to Angie's List and found Gary Stringer with On-Site Builders. I knew from our first meeting that we had found the right company (the right person) for the project. From the very first meeting, Gary provided an excellent client experience for us. He was very prompt in returning a detailed proposal and timeline for the project. We easily negotiated the payment schedule and agreed on a completion date that On-Site ultimately would meet. Once the work began, he was very proactive in updating us on the project and offered great insight when appropriate regarding adjustments to the original design plans. And the end product is fabulous! We have a fresh, modern "home" at the beach that is so much more than our considerable expectations at the onset of the project!

What set On-Site Builders apart from its competitors was the service provided by principals Gary Stringer and James Cook. From the initial consultation and review of the renovation requirements, through the bidding, award, and execution, they proved to be highly communicative; flexible; innovative; and exceptionally competent. They kept the project on track and on-budget while owners were absent. Options to resolve hidden flaws in the original construction of the home were quickly evaluated and communicated for cost, schedule impact, and esthetics. Overall, very pleased with the performance of On-Site Builders. Not being on-site, we needed to be able to trust in the capabilities and judgement of Gary and James. And our faith in them was well justified.

OK l'm not a guy that leaves reviews, preferring to lurk, but I am so pleased with Gary and James' work, et al, that I will make an exception. We had them do a complete redo of the kitchen and enclose a worn out screened porch. We also replaced much of the floor and Gary coordinated it all. The outcome was beautiful and much more functional. Whole thing took prob. 6 weeks but most importantly they did their very best to mitigate the dust, disruption and inconvenience. The quote was very reasonable and did not change at the end. The crew was always polite and considerate. Overall I highly recommend On-site Builders for your next major home profect.

First of all I want to thank Gary, James and the crew from On Site Builders for doing a great job on my sunroom. They took an open patio and made it into a beautiful sunroom. I love the way it came out, couldn’t ask for anything more. Gary and his guys are very professional, respectful, neat and clean and just a bunch of nice guys. They were open to changes I made along the process. They made sure everything was done right and up to code, which I appreciate. I would rehire them again in a heartbeat. I would also recommend On Site Builders to anyone that needs any remodeling to be done.

We just finished remodeling the kitchen in our condo. Since this is not our primary residence we had to do everything through the Internet and photographs. Gary made the whole process effortless. He Sent us pictures of the cabinets, various countertops etc. we purchased the new appliances and he installed them. My kitchen was done earlier than expected, and the place was left very clean. Gary Stringer was a pleasure to deal with. I have used him prior on a stair install project, which also was effortless because of him. The world needs more contractors like him.

Excellent !!! I highly recommend this contractor. The finished product was even better than I had imagined. On-Site Builders handled all of the necessary drawings, permits, & inspections. I met with Gary once or twice and he sketched the roof based on my description. I never had to get involved again after those meetings. He employed 4 subcontractors for the framing, shingled roof, vinyl covering, & fan installation. All performed exceptionally. It was as though they read my mind. I actually enjoyed watching his crew and the subcontractors perform their crafts. They were like well oiled machines. By watching every step of the process, I could see how well built it is. Very strong. A few flaws needed to be revisited in the vinyl work but they were corrected the next day. The area was kept clean throughout the process as they swept up every day. What could have been a nightmare turned out to be a pleasure.

We hired Gary and team after a failed project with a scam artist. Gary’s team was efficient and did quality work when they said they were going to do it.

They were friendly and concerned with getting the work done quickly and correctly. They stabilized the roof and even put items back in storage. They managed the roofing.crew and made them come back to correct an area that hadn’t been finished right.

It went great. They arrived on time, acted professional and did a great cleanup job afterwards.

From start to finish I dealt with Gary (the owner) of On Site Builders. The plumbing was an issue due to being roughed in wrong originally but Gary came up with a solution to repair. He and his staff were always professional and prompt. On Site Builders started as scheduled and stayed on the job until complete. To my surprise....with the unforeseen plumbing issues, Gary was able to stay within the project budget and delivered a top quality job. I would recommend On Site Builders to anyone.

excellent, their team was able to adapt to our changing scheduling since my wife had a stroke during the process. The guys were great and flexibile in working with us to get their completed on a time line which had to keep changing. Their team were knowledgeable and professional which added to the value provided in the work performed.

On-Site Builders did an amazing job! I needed a new kitchen and was very impressed with the quality of work they delivered. They were punctual, neat and clean. They answered all my questions and gave wonderful options and ideas throughout the process. My new kitchen is amazing and exceeded my expectations. I couldn’t be happier with it.

Superior: Gary and his job site manager(James) arrived on-site with an open contract to refurbish the interior 2000 square feet of poorly maintained home with ceiling leaks. They had to work side by side with a flooring contractor who refloored the entire house. They began by removing the popcorn ceiling throughout the house, re-taped most of the house, sealed, and painted everything, while repairing holes, rebuilding one wall and removing weird ceiling structures. During the process they repaired several weak areas on the roof, built an additional cricket on the roof to prevent standing water, and installed a roof fan. In all of the unstructured work and changing work requirements, Gary and James were patient, made appropriate recommendations, and continued their superior work. I cannot imagine using anyone else. In fact they are now working on adding an enclosed porch on the back of the house. Another evaluation for the end of October 2018.

Another contractor began the work but the work was unsatisfactory and On-Site was brought in to redo the work and finish up. Work was completed quickly and well. Walls are perfect as well as all the trim and painting.

Job went great. I’d definitely hire them again.

On Site Builders headed by Gary Stringer and James Cook were our contractors fro our recent remodel of Master Bath, Kitchen in our newly purchased Pawleys Island SC home. We reached out to Gary just before our early January closing and met with him at the house. He put together a very professional and detailed proposal outlining exactly what would be done. In addition he made several suggestions regarding a built in cabinet in the living room and built in closets in the master bedroom. Both ideas were beautifully done and helped highlight the entire remodel. His proposal included plumbing, granite, kithcen work, electric along with several other "handyman" type projects like hanging new ceiling fans, light fixtures etc. The crew arrived on a daily basis on time. They were very neat in cleaning up each day as to make the 8 weeks as unobtrusive as possible. We paid incrementally as different projects were completed. No surprises along the way and very detail oriented. About a week after the project was completed we had a slight plumbing issue in one of the bathroom sinks. Within 5 minutes of txting Gary he had scheduled the plumber to come right back out and correct the small issue. Overall I would give a FIVE STAR rating to Gary and James for all the work they did. I would recommend their work to anyone with a major remodel job.

It didn’t! After coming promptly to see the job and develop an estimate, it started going downhill. The estimate was not prompt nor complete. Gary promised to bring his partner and plumbing and electrical subs because we were considering a tankless water heater. On the scheduled day, neither of the subs came. Finally, the electrician came, but the plumber never did, meaning the estimate was never complete. After a week of my efforts to get preliminaries resolved and a contract completed before work was to begin on Monday, today, as promised, I received a phone call on the preceding Friday. I was told he was really busy and didn’t think he would be able to perform the work. In his words, he thought it better “to disappoint me now than ‘p***’ me off later”. I am convinced he was not comfortable with my request for a written contract. I know he was very uncomfortable with getting a building permit. Bottom line? I am extremely disappointed with this contractor!!!

Exceptionally well. Workers were not only skilled, they were knowledgeable about the product, punctual, and polite. Would hire On-Site Builders again in a heartbeat. Gary, James, and the crew are the best!

On-site Builders were prompt and very professional. The work was completed in a timely manner. I have used them before to remodel my kitchen and they did an excellent job. I will hire them again.
