The first guy we called said we needed a new control module and quoted an outrageous amount of money. Found Mikes Mechanical here on Angie's list. He responded quickly. He looked at it, connected a wire, turned the switches on and we had fire! All he charged was a service call, but he also cleaned it thoroughly and replaced the material that makes the flames. He is honest, thorough, and knows what he is doing. I would highly recommend him to neighbors or friends.

Completed tests to see what was creating the logs not to run and give out heat. Found problem, corrected issues with replaced parts that were required to correct the gaslogs. He had a full inventory of parts replacement. Which was worth getting the right person who had full working knowledge of gas logs. No waiting. Was using firepace as he left. He also cleaned the unit and surrounding fireplace area thoroughly.

Was prompt, professional, and very knowledgeable. Provided good advice on use and care of unit, trouble shooting tips and future service requirements. Highly recommend and will use him again in the future.

Mike came on time for his scheduled appointment. Our gas fireplace was installed when the house was built years ago but was not properly installed to receive enough air flow and was soot filled. He first cleaned the entire fireplace (as a matter of fact he cleaned it so well you could almost eat off the firelogs LOL). He changed out the air vent so it could receive the appropriate airflow, cleaned the firelogs, glass, fireplace doors, screen and replaced the old cinders with new ones. He repaired the switches so they work properly, cleaned the thermopile and provided and installed a new remote control mechanism. He was extremely efficient, very professional and clearly knew what he was doing. We were impressed with his professionalism, his knowledge, skill and abilities. His pricing was quite reasonable in our opinion and we'd use him again in a heartbeat.

I called and left a message. Mike was ill but called back to keep me posted on his status. We made an appointment and he arrived on time and fixed the problem. It was clear there was no guesswork even though there must be a lot of different Natural Gas fireplaces....mine hadn't been operated in at least 3 years, if ever! He had to clean the lines and took the time to instruct me on it operation and safety. We went outside and checked the vent for operation and obstructions. Now the fireplace works with a flick of the switch and everyone is happy!

Home warranty company sent a plumber to repair gas log set. They disassembled it and said the company that built the unit was out of business and couldn't get parts. We called Mike's Mechanical. After several visits, Mike finally determined the problems, ordered the correct parts and rebuilt the burner assembly. We added the glass door. Mike was knowledgeable about the gas log burner system and was conscientious about getting it exactly right.

I called Mike to ask about converting my natural gas Weber grill to propane. He did some research and found that Weber does not make conversion kits, but still agreed to come and look at the grill the same day. It so happened that he had the right parts in his truck so he offered to do the work right then, including cleaning the grill. He stayed two hours, until 7pm.
