Please be aware, this company is a SCAM! I went by the store and they told that they have a design service for home. I was thrilled because ive been trying to have my home decorated for over a year. I met Kimberly really sweet etc... She told about her rate and i was ok with it as long as the work will be done. When I met her at my house I told her i was not interested in being pressure sale situation. Since she had a store and told that is not how she work, I was accepted to give her the $2500 retainer. And then just as you can imagine, she start charging me silly stuff. She is charging me money to sell me her own stuff. I did my own research. Let say she was selling me wall paper. She was selling me the wallpaper for $57 a roll, i needed 30 rolls. I was curious to make some price searching, Im accountant who is a CPA, and i specialize in auditing and fraud. I searched for the authorized dealer in Myrtle beach and I found Rose Arbor on 17 business. I call them and they are selling the roll for $32.00 Here the situation, Kimberly is charging me $145/ hour to sell me her own wallpaper with a huge markup because im sure Rose Arbor will still have to make money. And then i wanted to hold on and see how they will bill me. The first bill was ok, $750 with not much accomplished a lot of blabla. I told her my priority which was my family room and downstairs but she was pressure selling my son and daughter bedroom which it ok, but the reason its because she wanted to sell me some old furniture sitting in her store. In the bill its says total charged for estimate: 4 hours which is $580. She charged me $580 to sell me her merchandise. Drapery estimate: $435 again to sell me her stuff with huge markup Furniture selection: $580 to sell me again her stuff. Which she never come up with a complete full room except of course my son room and daughter room which was already had the bed and stuff. My son room was like $7000 with nothing really impressing. I did a lot of research on the furniture on internet and she was marking up at least 25%. I have no problem on making business making money but come on your charge the expensive hour rate at $145 an hour or you get markup. Its not ethical to get the cake and the money of the cake. Last thing that trigger my auditor instinct is that I had someone installing tile for me before that I found on angie list. I know when he did 3 of my bathroom and my laundry room, he gives me a price right away. I was thrilled that the guy who recommended was my tile guy. He came by measured for the tile on my fireplace and my backslash. I asked how much it will cost me, and he kind looked nervous and told the designer he will email it to her. Here we are again getting her hand on something that she shouldn't since she is charging her $145.00/hour. I'm really disappointed and disturbed by such a lack of ethic. I believe she is used to scam the bored housewife that want to spend their husband money. I work for my money and I'm a CPA, of course i will be measuring, budgeting etc... I dealt with interior designer, the one for my house in Canada is Amazing, she is charging me her hourly rate and i pay directly the contractors, i buy directly from the store and product she recommend. Unfortunately, people are looking for a way to scam good people with no sense. Her billing reminded me some stuff that i audited in the past and its really basic pathetic way to get all the retainer and then tell you that you owe a balance knowing that you will never pay them. Im going to report her to better business bureau and hoping that nobody will be spam again. It was cheaper for me to fly my interior designer from Canada who is doing TV shows in Montreal. Thank you
