Hometeam Construction is a custom home design and build firm that started in 1999 as a 3 man carpentry crew. The 3 men Jeff Milford, Jeff O’Brien and Patrick Zarcone were all on the same framing crew in upstate New York before moving to Myrtle Beach in 1999. The business was incorporated in the state of South Carolina in April of 2001. When we first started all we did was framing and siding, but in 2002 we built our first custom home in Pawleys Island. The homeowner, Bryan Klinger, still lives there today. Since then, the company has enjoyed tremendous growth and is very proud to still be operating as a healthy construction company, even as so many other builders have stopped operating in these hard economic times. The reason is simple; we have stuck to our vision statement: “We are a customer-driven business with an operating philosophy of building customer satisfaction and quality into everything we do. Our goal is to be a profitable company with an outstanding reputation of building quality homes.” In 2007 Hometeam Construction built our first home in Cypress River Plantation. Because of the details and custom features put into the home, it sold before it was completed. So did the 2nd, 3rd and every one after that. We have also built more custom homes as a “design and build” than anyone else in Cypress River Plantation making Hometeam the preferred builder in the Cypress River community. We even built PGA Golfer and Ryder Cup team member Dustin Johnson’s house on Lot 123. One of the main reasons for this success is due to the fact that Hometeam is truly an on-site builder. Sub-contractors are used for some of the specialty trades, but for the majority of the process, it is a Hometeam employee doing the work in a Hometeam home. The employees are highly trained, skilled and motivated. Our professional, experienced supervisors believe in superior craftsmanship and have a passion for quality, workplace organization and cleanliness. Another reason for our success is that the same 3 partners that started the company are on-site every day. Often working with their “nail bags on”. There is not a superintendent assigned to your job, the owners of the company are the ones responsible to build your home. We do have foreman and supervisors to oversee the crews, but all customer service is done by the owners themselves. This ensures that there is never any miscommunication, making the process work better for everyone.
