Jerry Miller and the crew of Flagship constructions have thoroughly screwed me over. The new construction i bought, my first home, was botched in every aspect by flagship constructions. To begin with, the sod that was laid was spaced almost 3 inches apart on all sides as if they didn’t order enough sod and were using what they had. As a result my grass has died and it’s resulted in constant harassment from the HOA to have my lawn redone. Pooling and flooding killed the grass in the backyard, not to mention constantly finding construction trash in the sand left behind, some of which had cut my dogs’ paws. The entire door frame to my outdoor water heat closet has a crack going from the top of the doorframe against the door hinges all the way to the bottom; the crack is a half inch wide at its worst. I called and warrantied this issue multiple times only to find they hastily plastered over the crack - really?? The siding is coming off, every morning i pick up a nail or two before having to drive it back in. I lost siding during a thunderstorm on one occasion! The sliding glass door leaks and the lock was broken, nearly all of the windows are extremely difficult to open, the water pressure is a joke, the kitchen sink hardly drained and every single appliance in the house is cheap junk that breaks easily. The attention to detail is horrid, most of the flooring under the stove was completely unsecured. These are only the major issues. Worst of all, while trying to seek legal action against jerry miller for constantly dodging calls, texts and emails in response to my warranty issues, he quit and left. Flagship constructions are scam artists and thieves. If you value your hard earned money, do not use these commercial-grade scum bags

The building of the house went fine. All the problems started after we moved in. There is a one year warranty but getting them to respond and fix things is a huge problem. Our yard was a mess. Every time it rained we had a flood in the yard. I am not exaggerating when I say that we called over 30 times to try and get them out to even look at it or fix it. We lost several bushes and a tree because of all the standing water and they would not replace them. After almost a year they did put in a drainage in the front yard but it was a very shotty job and they left the yard a mess. It took 6 months to get a window fixed. The list goes on. Very poor customer service. Wouldn't return calls. Promised to extend our patio and never did that. Needless to say we would never recommend them or use them again.

We purchased a home built by Flagship Construction located in Myrtle Beach, S.C. and there have been several issues that have not been addressed. Primarily, our sod was put down in October and it never took. It actually froze during the winter months and it never grew. In addition, there have been tremendous puddling and mudding issues in the front and backyard, as well as on the sides of the house. This is due mostly because the landscaping was not grated correctly and the drainage was done incorrectly. Some months after the construction, we chose to increase the size of our patio. (We decided to add more cement so as not to see all of the dead grass and weeds.) We hired outside workers to complete the job because we've been so dissatisfied with Flagship. During this process, as the contractors dug to level the floor to put in the concrete, they were unable to continue because they found a large wooden palette in the ground. This palette caused massive puddling about two feet deep! This palette was left in the backyard and covered up by Flagship workers when they initially sodded the backyard. (Shoddy workmanship!) Our dissatisfaction with Flagship started when it was time for our 6 month walk through. We tried so many times to contact Alan, the Superintendent, in order to schedule the walkthrough and fix certain things. However, he hardly ever returned phone calls. It seems as though once the house was built, he washed his hands of it and has never helped us since (poor customer service!) We ended up calling the co-owner, Hal, to discuss the sod issue. Initially the co-owner blamed us for ruining the sod and then decided to send away for soil tests. It took over a month for them to receive their test results, which they never shared with us. We decided to send away for soil tests and the results came back in exactly two weeks, and stated that the soil was not tampered with. The co-owner then decided that he wanted to send away for more soil tests, which we never received then called us and said that the yard was damaged (blaming my neighbor) and that he was not fixing it. On July 2, 2015, we drove back to our driveway to find three men on our lawn. One from their soil testing facility (Clemson) and two landscapers from Flagship poking around on our property. (Ummm... wouldn't you call us to say that you are sending people over to look at the lawn?! ) The soil tester plainly stated that the issues we are having are due to 1) the timing of when Flagship layed down the sod. He said it was because of mother nature and the sod freezing and then dying before having a chance to root and grow. 2) Drainage issues and that if not fixed that we will continue to have lawn issues. And 3) that the lawn was not grated correctly and that Flagship put down practically no topsoil. We were relieved to hear the tester say the reasons for these issues (which we were saying all along!); however, we have yet to hear from Flagship on how they will resolve these issues for us. So... we've had a really rough time with Flagship to say the least. It's been frustrating trying to build our home and having to see dead grass and puddles surrounding our property. We would like to get this resolved as quickly as possible, but Flagship has been uncooperative, abrasive, offensive, accusatory, and unwilling to help us.

After contacting Flagship multiple times verbally and by certified mail, we were advised they would take soil samples and never gave results. I had testing done and advised Flagship of results which the PH was very low and not enough top soil. No resolution has been made. Flagship insinuates that somebody had to do something to the lawn. When asked Flagship, Who? they have no response. I had three (3) landscapers come in and evaluate the lawn and was advised that by putting the sod down in December with the cold weather and freezing temperatures, the sod remained dormant. Flagship sent a representative out and advised that the sod did not come up due to gutters and a fence that was on the property. They appear to be blaming everything and me as except to resolve the situation. I am in the process of fixing my property and have pictures before and after. Our new house is a sore sight to the community since there is just dirt instead of green sod. This has made us sick and disgusted of this to be the happiest time of owning a new home and Flagship not cooperating to resolve.
Description of Work: Flagship built our home and put sod down at closing 12/14 and sod remained dormant.
