Our daughter gave up two days of vacation waiting for the service people to first arrive and then finally work on the alleged leak. In addition, she had to call them when they did not show up at the arranged time and had to badger them to return since they were due to leave SC. The only work completed while our daughter was still at the house was to open the wall and "fix" the leak and "clean" the mold in the wall area. We were not overly concerned since we were not expecting visitors for another two months. About one month before our next visitors were due to arrive, we made arrangements to mail a key so that the work could be completed. They received the key but still did not finish the repair. Our visitors arrived to find the water shut off and a mess still in the kitchen. One month later when we arrived, the work was still not done. We called first thing Monday morning to find out what was going on and got a song and dance about how busy they were. Remember, they have been paid in full and the work is not complete. After some yelling on both ends they said someone would be by on Wednesday. The repair person finally arrived about 12:30 and worked for about 1 hour to start the repair on the sheetrock. He said he would be back the next day (Thursday) to finish after the plaster dried and would call at 11:00 to tell us what time. At 3:30 he finally called to say that he would not be able to make it that day but would call at 10:00 the next day to say when he would return on Friday. We haven’t heard from him since. After realizing that he would not (ever) be back, we pulled out the refrigerator to clean up and survey what needed to be done to the wall. We wondered why the ice maker was not working and it was because they had not turned the water back on to the refrigerator on after the "repair". We turned the valve to turn on the water and guess what? It was still leaking. And the leak was coming from the ice maker hose. I doubt they tested their "repair". We fixed this in 5 minutes with a $17 replacement hose from Home Depot. We cleaned up the floor and molding, and the sheetrock repair remains unfinished. The bottom line is that being out of town, we were at the mercy of taking a contractor’s word and (over) paid for a job that was seemingly not necessary and left unfinished.
Description of Work: We are residents of NY but own a second home in Myrtle Beach. Our daughter was vacationing at the MB home and informed us that the refrigerator was leaking. We contacted 30 Minute Appliance Service to look at the refrigerator. They came that day and told us that it was not the refrigerator, but rather a leak in the wall leading to the ice maker. In addition to the leak needing repair, we were told that there was black mold that required cleaning. We were given a price of $1649 to open the wall, fix the leak, clean the mold, repair the sheetrock, replace the molding in the area of the leak, and clean up. We were told that this needed to be paid in full in order to start work. Because we were conducting this over the phone from NY and they would not accept a credit card, our daughter wrote a check for the full amount. We were assured that the repair would be made such that the area would look brand new.

They said they repaired the ice maker on our refrigerator (all they did was adjust the part that pushes out the ice) and it broke within 2 weeks. We called up and made an appointment for them to come back at 9 AM and they never showed up. I called and was told they would be there later in the day and still never showed up.. I called 3 times and they would not answer or return message. Very unhappy with them... they don't stand by their work I finally gave up calling and got someone else to repair it.

Tony insisted we needed a new furnace. When i had another Hvac company over to give a second opinion i was alerted to some "inconsistencies" in the work that had been performed. 30 minute had charged me $250 to install a third zone. In reality, what he dud was install a battery operated thermometer which was not tied into the hvac system at all. Tony was asked to adjust the power dampers, and now they do not work in conjunction with the thermostat at all. When the ac is set to 75, the temperature is dropping all the way down to 68 degrees. When called back to correct the problems, he never returned our call. Instead he just showed up at our residence, unannounced. tony insisted that we now needed a whole new heating and a/c unit. He also insisted that he did not charge us $250 for a temperature gauge, even though it was clearly marked on the sales invoice as such.
Description of Work: Provider was hired in March 2014 to repair furnace. While there he indicated that he could improve heating/cooling in our sunroom by adding a third "zone".
