my job went excellent! I spent almost the entire time with them while they did the job. Genuine people! showed up when he said they would, explained to me any questions I had, and also paid attention to the small details that mattered to me. I felt completely satisfied when my job was done and look forward to JR and his wife returning to do my next project as soon as possible! This was a great experience, he custom built a new frame for me and sealed every part of that door to exceed my expectation. this was my first experience with Southern Shores Handyman and strongly recommend him.

This is an update to my prior "review" which was a conversation w/an Angie's list customer service rep who put my comments into review form without asking/informing me, although I should have realized at the time what the questions were about. Regarding my "too conversational" comment, I enjoyed talking with JR when the work was done, finding similar experiences in common but should have simply told him when I had work to get back to. JR arrived at agreed time, went right to work and was clearly competent to perform the job of assembling a small cat condo, for which he charged a reasonable price. In addition to the agreed condo packaging, when I asked, JR was happy to also haul away much additional packaging materials and dry trash. He broke down many boxes accumulated from recent purchases following our move and loaded up everything my daughter and I hadn’t been able to get to our apt dumpster without a car. It was a lot! But JR didn’t even want additional pay for the extra time and effort. He is clearly knowledgeable and efficient in his work and was a great help to us, over and above. I highly recommend JR and would be pleased to hire him again. *** Update*** This is a further addition to my recent review. I forgot to mention that JR also assembled a gaming chair for my daughter's birthday along with the small cat condo. Both remain solid and sturdy, performing as expected. The price may have been $10 or 20 more than the $100 I estimated but was still reasonable for 2 assemblies. And although JR was a little higher priced than the service provider from the big box website where I purchased the gaming chair, it was worth it as JR was able to book this job quickly as compared to 2 weeks the big box provider would have taken. Too long for a birthday present! Thanks JR for your quick, professional and helpful service.

JR arrived on time and was great to work with. He is professional, knowledgeable, and offered solid advice on the work we needed done. I can’t recommend him more highly.

JR did a great job with both items mentioned (cat door install and garage door opener relocated). He is very friendly and did his work promptly and competently and would recommend him to anyone needing handyman work/ I would definitely hire him again.

JR and assistant were very professional. They installed 3 ceiling fans with lights and a dining room chandelier. He even installed my shower curtain rod without an extra fee. There was a small problem I noticed after they left. I called JR and he returned within a few days to correct the issue. I felt the price was fair and will definitely call them again.

Excellent! Very trustworthy and hard working. Knew exactly what to do in different situations. Very communicate ahead of scheduled date. Prompt and left everything clean. Will surely have them back!

JR gave me as much time as was needed for installing my washer/dryer and hanging my pictures. He was very helpful, detail oriented, great eye for keeping things level, friendly while doing the work and very professional. I talked with him about coming back to do other work around the house. Definitely someone to keep in your phone book for calling back.

Couldn't be more satisfied. J.R. and his colleague are exceptionally professional and talented. They also were very accommodating in working within a tight appliance delivery deadline. Couldn't recommended Southern Shores Handyman more highly and have asked for their help with a new project.

J.R. is such a pleasure to work with. He helped us with the selection of paints etc.. and did an amazing job! He communicated with us as the job progressed, sent us pictures and he will be doing more work for us in the future!

Incredible service!!! Just moved into a 2015 home we recently purchased and put my clothing on the closet racks and the wiring shelving fell off of the walls :-( JR came to the rescue. He promptly replied to my Angie's list request for a quote, then came out to scope the work. He saved us some money by reusing the original materials and only purchasing the brackets, screws, etc that were needed to remount the closet racks in a strengthened manner. I highly recommend JR and will be using him for our future handyman needs!!! (BTW, he's also a very nice & caring person -- approved by our dog and cat)

JR has been great. He responded quickly to my initial request and has worked around Hurricane Dorian to get my jobs done. He is extremely knowledgeable, professional, understanding, and kind. I recommend him and will use his services over and over.

I was very impressed with his work and with him. He did a great job on installing my wall paper. I would highly recommend him. I would use him again

I had a long handyman list for J.R and thank goodness J.R. was able to accomplish all these tasks successfully. J.R. installed 5 ceiling fans. Each of the ceiling fans had their own unique installation requirement but he was able to effectively install all five . Even though two of the fans, J.R had to manually wire the remotes for the fan. J.R. installed a couple of grab bars in the WC. I had J.R swap out the shower heads in two bathrooms for new handheld showerhead. Finally, J.R sealed the granite countertops in the kitchen and the 2 bathrooms. He also sealed the tile grout in both of the bathrooms. J.R. also explained and advised me how to seal, polish and maintain the granite countertops and how often the tile shower needs to be re-sealed. J.R. was very professional. I liked that J.R. called the night before and confirmed our appointment and verified the list of activities to be accomplished. I have J.R. number stored in my contact because I have no doubt with a new home that I will be contacting J.R. for other home improvement activities. I also will be referring J.R to any friends who need a good handyman.
