We contacted them last year, they came over but their estimate was way too high for what we wanted done.

The crew showed up on schedule removed all the old shrubs and materials, added loam and sod to the reconfigured areas. They did this in one day and hauled it away.

On the second day they planted the new shrubs and plants added mulch and raked and cleaned the area. The crew was professional and very responsive to our questions. They also made some changes to the sprinkler system because of the reconfiguration.

"We did a small job for her and she was very pleased when completed. She had a problem with moles and later discovered, with earth worms. When she called, we responded and checked out her problem immediately. We visited her property several times and talked with her via phone. Initially it was a mole problem so we treated the area at least 2 additional time, at no cost to her. After checking with our local extension office, the additional problem was due to the unusual amount of rain which brought worms to the surface of the beds creating small piles of soil. We advised her of the issue and the solution. She requested a price for installing brick chips again, but didn't like the price. That was the last time that we heard from her. We always listened to her issues and responded as soon as possible. We are sorry that she is unhappy."

All of my experiences associated with Blue Moon have simply been wonderful. That goes from that high quality product to the friendly and patient service.

They are very good. We did a whole package. The pricing was reasonable. They did good work for the money. We have recommended them to other people as well.

They did a fair job. But as I said too expensive and pushy so we found another person to do our landscaping and planting much cheaper and really much better.

In 2011 we found we needed someone to fix our outdoor patio so we thought Blue Moon would be better in that area. We had a terrible time with them, put in a report on this matter on Angie's List and will never use this company again. He is not honest.

"We did not contact this customer. Her husband came to us last year and requested help with their back patio which was installed incorrectly several years ago. We did not contact her about landscaping!"

Purchased 10 plants, removed existing mulch, Removed plants from back of home, Added top soil and compost to sides and top and tamped soil. Applied herbicide to all beds, Tamped mulch into place. Clean up. 'We found him to just ok (not great) but it looked clean for about a year. The work had to be done over again in 2007 with an additional charge iof $1,324,00. His plants don't seem to last and they don't have a good variety. We recommended him to our new neighbors next store since we really didn't know any other nursery garden centers in the area. They disliked them and would not use them again, but I was willing to give them another chance even though the majority of the plants died. He does not guarantee anything and prices are very high. He lives in the neighborhood so I figured why not give business to neighbors.I was wrong. We used him again for patio renovation and found them to be manipulative and dishonest, After this 3rd try he showed his back handed maneuvers and no longer trust or will use him, Last work done 9/2012,

"We worked for this customer previously and they didn't have any problems with our work. We stopped several times when they called to check on the plants when they had questions. We never charged for this service. If customers do not water correctly, the plants do not survive. At the time of signing any proposal we advise our customers that we do not have warranties or guarantees (in writing on the proposal). They must have liked our work because they said in 2011 that they wanted only us to do any work because they trusted us."

to us. The problems kept recurring and mistakes were nonstop. We trusted the Guignons to finish the job properly. This was just the beginning of the project. He stated that he would reduce the project by $1,500.00 due to the errors and since the patio we had was strong and in much better shape than initially thought. The new workers (Jon Rogers, Garrett and Oscar) were very good workers supervised by Jon Rogers and took the opportunity to thank them by letter to Blue Moon dated November 2011 since they worked hard to fix Richard and Mary Anne Guignon's and Grif's misrepresentation, mistakes, ordering mediocre concrete blocks that had the workers sawing off each block so they would not rock and lay straight. It was then that R.Guignon retracted the $1,500.00 savings to the balance. R. Guignon ran out of materials (pavers) and wanted to charge us extra. After applying the pavers, his compressor cracked 24 pavers. R.Guignon's fix for this was to fill in the gaps with broken pieces of leftover pavers. He did however, realize this was absurd and ordered new pavers and fixed the mistake. When it came to have the Horry County Roster Sheet signed (which is a legal document with the government), he would not sign it as contractor. He said that he WAS NOT THE CONTRACTOR, BUT WE WERE. I thought that was incorrect so I called Chief Johnson at Horry County and he got R. Guignon to sign the roster. When forced to sign, he gave us a Business License 104,643. We soon found this was outdated in 2008, so he lied on the roster sheet (a legal government document). When we called him on it and advised Chief Johnson at Horry County Code Enforcement the Guignons had to sign and put a valid number down on the sheet. He did not give us an updated "Business License" but did give us 2 other numbers one under the heading "SC State License" (026519018) and one under "County Business License" (754230). I just called Chief Johnson and both these numbers are not listed with LLR. The Guignons dba Blue Moon Nursery I believe are still giving erroneous numbers on the roster sheet. Starting out with a defunct Business License and then adding numbers he seemed to pick out of the air. This was nearly a $13,000.00 job. After paying him $10,000.00 I fired him due to his blatant lies putting fake numbers onto the roster sheet for Horry County, his back-handed way of having my husband and I prepare wording he recited to the Horry County Permit. The end result did not match the drawings the Guignons prepared as what they planned. He did not finish building a walkway and the June finish of the pavers. I then sent the Guignons a letter dated December 19, 2011 stating we would pay him the remainder of the balance (less the $1500.00 savings he gave us due to his errors, hiring a man with dementia, not ordering enough material that he wanted us to pay additional money, ordering material that was of low quality (that he recommended). We also asked (under the above circumstances) to guarantee his work. We found this company back-handed to say the least and dishonest, and no longer wished to do any further business with him or his wife or Blue Moon. I sent him a letter December 19, 2011 firing him though he still did not finish the walkway promised and the June 2012 refinishing of the pavers. My letter was an evaluation of his work and a request to guarantee his work under the circumstances delineated above. My letter added that we would pay Blue Moon in good faith once he guaranteed his work, with the final owed him $1,446.00 which reflected the $1,500 reduction he offered us. He never responded to us. He did however, put a lien on our property until the balance is paid letter dated January 23, 2012 from his lawyer. I found out just recently he was the defendant in a court action started in 2009 and resolved in 2011. I have submitted a complaint with the State of Carolina Dept of Consumer Affairs in Columbia, SC and with the SC Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation (LLR) My question to these agencies is are the numbers underlined above and entered by the Guignons sanctioned by LLR or are they false? Did they falsify the roster document? Why when we are willing to pay the final amount did they put a lien on our property? We would prefer to settle this and pay the remainder on the terms of their promised savings of $1500 and we think it reasonable and practical to have their work guaranteed since they have $10,000.00 of our money. How can we vacate the lien? Does this firm need a permit as well to operate with just a Business License (his current license number which I had to find on my own is 154230. We are good people and have a good business, financial and upstanding reputation. We are willing to pay but the Guignons dba Blue Moon Nursery and Garden Center, Inc. won't respond to our terms. I would not recommend this company for ANY business due their self serving practices, non professionalism and dishonesty, Loretta N. Lawrence 843 650-3410

"After we reviews the project with the homeowner, we submitted a written proposal to them. At that time they wanted us to work on the patio. They signed the proposal and agreed that there were no warranties or guarantees (written on proposal). They did not pay everything upfront only a small deposit. As the work progressed, we would take additional money. They were very pleased with the work and submitted a "thank you" letter to us. While working on the patio, there were unforeseen problems with the underlying structure. We did not charge anything additional but fixed the problems at no extra cost to the customer. After finally completing the project, we requested payment but did not receive the final check. We WERE NOT FIRED from the project. The patio was complete, inspected by the county and approved. We did additional work such as removing extra trees in the back, laying extra sod, repairing other sod areas at no cost to the customer. Approximate value of additional work - $2,000."

They were excellent. They did a lot of work. My house looks so much better now. I spent a lot more than I wanted to. I had to wait for a few weeks for an appointment because it was summer.

When you call them, they answer the phone; we are finding that unusual around here. They call you before the appointment time to make sure everything is okay and that you are home, and they call again after the job is done. The price is a hair high, but I haven't checked prices elsewhere so I'm not positive. When we had problems with the landscaping, they were here the next day. We will definitely use them again and, in fact, I am getting ready to call them now.

I will never use or reccomend this company to anyone. The owner was arrogant and the workers were terrible.

"The work was completed in June, 2009. Our supervisor was there to start the job and the customer and supervisor agreed on the location of the drains which were marked. The customer was given the cell # of the supervisor in case he had any questions. The customer was also advised that if the drains did not work properly, they would be moved at no cost. The owner and supervisor stopped at the customer's home but he would not answer the door or his phone."
