The cover on the tub fell off because it was not secured properly after they put it in (we heard a quite bang upstairs, went up and it was lying on the ground.) Also, he did something to the shower head and it doesn't have the correct pressure anymore.

As soon as I read this review, I contacted the customer and scheduled an appointment to correct the matter. As ALWAYS, if there is ever an issue, as not everything is perfect all the time, I simply explained that all you have to do is pick up the phone and call me. We stand behind our work 100% and never shy away from an issue. As of now, we have already returned and corrected the problem. Originally he wanted to keep his shower head, so we attempted to increase the pressure to save it for him, however since it was not to his satisfaction, we installed a new shower head this time around free of charge :)

I had a water leak in my 2nd floor bathroom leaking onto the driveway below. I checked Angies list and found Servant Plumbing. I called and got an appointment for Friday afternoon between 3 and 5. Tech called me at 4:45 and said he was on the way. I told him the work was outside and it would be dark before he got here. He agreed to come Monday mornng which he did. After tearing part of the ceiling out over the driveway he found where a handiman from last year shot a 2 1/2" brad through the water line and started to leak. We noticed where there were green areas on the copper piping that might leak later. Louis recommended changing out all of the piping in that area and quoted me a price. I had him look at my hot water heater which had much corrosion on the water lines going into the heater and he recommended changing it out as it might explode in the near future. The heater is located in a small room next to my den and within 2' of my mmain electrical panel. With this I agreed to change it out to a new gas tankless water heater. The cost was high but I ws concerned about the unit exploding soon. I asked for a breakdown in labor and material for the leak and the heater seperate. Rinnai warranty required a copy of the invoice which they wouldn't provide. I got a phone call from the owner, Louis Puglisi, and he said that he didn't want to provide that information. The next morning at 5:30 I received a 2 1/2 page email from him. He stated that Rinnai only gives a 5 yr on parts and 1 yr on labor which is not true if you register within 30 days (read warranty on line). Also if I do not register with Rinnai I loose my 12 yr warranty on the heat exchanger. I would like to get a copy of his warranty papers. as he says he warranties for 5 yr parts and labor. I was origionally told by his tech that his work was warrantied but not for how long. I hope he never goes out of business. I questioned his rates at around $200 per hour. Other Angies list reviews thought that his rates were high also. The bulk of his email was about how he gave me a quote, which I accepted, and that flat rate pricing was the way to go. He said "I know other companies like ARS would have charged you $8,000 to $10,000 and that's NOT an exaggeration." A quote from his email said, "The underlying issue is you're very frustrated because you feel you were overcharged. I'm not sure where this notion came from, but I can only speculate, sinceyou mentioned 12 hours at $200 an hour, wanting a cop of OUR invoice showing what WE paid for the water heater(that's not going to happen, that's private information. And to be honest, you would be the first person in 25 years that has ever asked me for such a thing) wanting a complete breakdown on the invoice." Another quote from his email was "Heck, WE don't even try to calculate the amount of hours it takes to do a job like yours. Sam, we didn't just rebuild a couple of faucets here. This was a highly skilled and highly involved job we pulled off for you. Converting over from an electric to an exterior gas tankless? Running gas lines, insulating water lines??? Nobody can predict how long a job like that is going to take. Nobody. We applied a "rough amount of hours" to your job. We factored in anywhere from 10 to 24 hours." The hot and cold water lines along with the gas line were approximately 10 feeet from the new location. A 10 to 24 hour estimate to install a new heater with all close by, for a company that says they are professionals and does this kind of work, is a very wide window for just installing a new hot water heater within 10 feet of the old one. He also had a problem with me telling Louis, technician, to go home at 7:30 PM and having him come back the next day to finish work as he still had several hours work left and also had to go to the store to purchace pipe insulation. The work was mostly outside and dark at 7:30 and he only had a handheld light to see with. On top of that he ran the power and thermostat line exposed on a totally seperate path from the water lines and it stood out like a sore thumb. The next morning I gave him a piece of flexible tubing to protect the electrical and thermostat line in and had him rerun it with the new water lines. The new water heater works good. I now wish that I had put it back into the same room inside area as the old heater due to the looks but that is my fault.

I'm so sorry that this gentleman just couldn't understand, regardless of how much time I spent trying to explain it to him. He has no problems with the work, but he kept trying to get our invoice from the supply house where we purchased the heater. I explained to him that was not information we provide. That OUR invoice was sufficient for ALL warranty purposes. But he just insisted that we supply it to him. Never have I been asked from a customer for a copy of our actual invoice for parts that we supplied from the supply house that we purchased them from. I explained to him over and over, that the warranty was through us, NOT the manufacture. Our warranties are MUCH better than what the manufacture offers. Where they offer 1 year labor and 5 year parts, we extend that for free to include FIVE YEARS labor, so that when we install it for you, you will not have to come out of pocket for anything. We are the ones that purchased the heater, not him. He had the option anytime he wanted, of actually purchasing and supplying the heater if he wanted to go that route. But he chose to let us do the entire job, turnkey. Personally, I find it very tacky for him to post part of an email written to him in confidence. And it was a very long email, and he picked certain parts of it to post while not others. As such, he didn't put everything in its complete context, to purposefully make the wording look worse than it actually was. An email, I might note, that was never responded to, after I spent 45 minutes composing it. This review was his response to my email. That's not the way it should work in the world :) It was particularly frustrating doing this job, because this customer has some kind of a night phobia. As such, this job was rescheduled twice when it didn't need to be and it messed up our schedule for our other customers. He accepted the appointment time of arriving sometime between 3 and 5 on a Friday, yet when we called to tell him we were on the way, he said it would be dark do not come out. I don't understand what dark had to do with anything. We all have flashlights and with daylight savings time, we can't help it if it gets dark so early. Then when we were doing the job ,literally, he kicked us off the job and told us to go home, and to return in the morning to finish the job, when we already have a full schedule the next morning. Whereas most of our customers simply adore us, because when 5 o'clock comes around, we don't clock out and run home like most companies, leaving our customers without hot water for the night, this seemed to make this gentleman upset. I would never dream of leaving my customers until the job is finished and without services, within reason. And definitely would never entertain the option of leaving my customer without hot water for the night simply because it's " 5 o'clock clock out time." All I can say is this, and I do not mean it in a negative way. But anyone who knows me knows I am a straight shooter. But this particular customer was very, very finicky and I would've had NO problems dealing with him, had he simply told us what his wishes were BEFORE we made an appointment and BEFORE we commenced the job. I would have been more than glad to do anything I had to do to make his wishes come true and to work around his preferences. I don't mind finicky people, that's where we excel the most, catering to our customers and as always, going the extra mile and showing that we care. But I cannot cater for you, if you don't tell me the food you like to eat :)

The work was accomplished in a little under 3 hours however a follow up call was required because one of the newly installed toilets was not secured properly. My default position is to do business with local (Mt Pleasant) based providers whenever possible even if the cost is a bit higher. In this case, I wish I had gotten multiple estimates because what I learned after the fact is that Servant Plumbing is at least 30% higher than other A-rated providers on Angie's List in the greater Charleston area. They advertise responding within 15 minutes anytime of the day or night. That was not my experience as I had to place multiple calls over a several hour period when trying to schedule the re-work. Wow! I have left many reviews on Angie's List, not all glowing but all FACTUAL and OBJECTIVE. Never did I expect to have a provider respond to my 5-sentence review (and overall grade of B) with a lengthy attack on my character as Servant Plumber did in this case. Even more troubling is that this very public attack was made by someone who sells himself and his business as "Christian". Unfortunately for Servant Plumbing in this case I think the truth is on my side. One of the beauties of cell phones is that they time stamp phone calls. The experience I relayed in my review where they failed to respond in THEIR ADVERTISED 15 minutes occurred on the 21st of Nov. My phone shows three calls to Servant Plumbing ((843) 513-8393...same number listed in Angie's List, same "It's a blessed day at Servant Plumbing" voicemail greeting and same "we'll respond in 15 minutes 24 hours a day, 7 days a week" message each time so I am certain I was calling the correct number). There was no response to the first two calls. On the third call (over two hours after the first) I left an irritated message in which I said I did not believe their advertised 15 min response as it had been over 2 hours since my first call. I know he received the third call as he followed the instructions I left in the message and called my son (to his credit within 15 minutes of the third phone call). With regard to the comparison of his cost to that of his competitors he is right that I have not compared his last 300 jobs to his competitors prices. What I did compare was what he charged on MY job to what his competitors quoted for EXACTLY the same work and his cost was AT LEAST 30% higher than the others. For clarity, I did not speak with Servant Plumber on the phone until 16 Dec when I called him to schedule the re-work. Communication prior to the initial work was via Angie's List messaging and after the work he did not return the first two calls I made to him and called my son on the third message (at my request). He did not provide a quote in advance of showing up to do the work because I did not ask for one. I had purchased an Angie's List "deal" for 3 hours of work and provided the materials. I was willing to pay anything over and above the cost of the pre-purchased labor because I did not suspect it would be a great deal more. He did provide a quote, while on the job site, for additional work that he recommended and we accepted (he provided the quote to my son who relayed it to me so I still had not spoken directly with him). Honestly, I'm having a hard time understanding why he is making such a point of me being out of state and his communication being with my son who occupies the property and would have to be the one to coordinate access As for not contacting him for several weeks. That is true. The reason I was so eager to get the work coordinated on Nov 21st was that I knew the period between Thanksgiving and Christmas was going to be very difficult for us to work a weekday off to be at the house for the work. In the interim Angie's List requested a review and I provided one. To this point the re-work has not been completed however NEVER did I suggest anywhere that he was ducking the rework and I fully acknowledge that the delay in scheduling the rework has been on our side. As my review indicates, I am not dissatisfied with the work performed (graded a B for Quality rather than A given the need for re-work). It sure seems to me that phones work both ways and if Servant Plumbing was so concerned with the rating I provided (again an overall B with FACTS supporting grades below A), he could have called me too, other PROFESSIONAL providers have done the same based on my previous reviews. He said in his response that he would reach out to us...he never did. Instead he chose to use this public forum to call me a liar...but it's Christmas so he'll give me a pass because he's Godly man afterall. PLEASE. I don't think a wobbly toilet that will trash Servant Plumber's reputation but rather his dishonesty, hypocrisy and defensive, childish responses to non-"A" reviews (not just mine) on Angie's List. I am baffled at why he thinks attacking customers on a public forum like Angie's List is good for business.

Dated Dec 10th [Member Name Removed] [Member Address Removed] In order for me to make a proper response, it would have to be a quite lengthy one, more than I think is proper for a forum like this. I don't want this to turn into a dramatic soap opera. I will only say this. I spent 45 long minutes on Saturday night speaking with this customer and even though I tried my best, I could not get her to change her opinion of me. Worse, I'm still not even sure what she is exactly upset about. She just wanted to go on and on and only talk about the "Godly" man in me. You can't get a hold of most plumbing companies at 9:00 on a Saturday night for an emergency. So you would THINK having the owner call her simply because she requested it, late on a Saturday night, and having me stop what I'm doing because I was so genuinely concerned that I had an upset customer, would carry some weight in the "I care" category. Evidently not. She still does not think highly of me... Yes, she does live out of state and her son lives in the home here locally. We did all of our communication through her son, scheduling, quotation of a price, etc. We only spoke with her once, to get her credit card information over the phone when the job was over. No matter what I offered, it got turned around and thrown back at me. Offered to refund her some money? She said you're just trying to bribe me to change my review! Offered a profuse apology? You don't really care the only reason you're apologizing is because of my review! Offered to be a pair of ears and listened to her story, and then have a good evening? What kind of a man of God would not try to satisfy me! I could not win for losing. To go further at this point would make me look defensive, and being defensive never equals quality customer service. So I stop there.

Several neighbors had problems with leaking/failing water heaters and we decided to replace our 12.5 year old unit, especially because we had been hearing some weird gurgling noises after running the hot water for showers or the washer. After scheduling an appointment with Josh, Jay came out and looked at the existing unit and discussed various options. Because of limited access through a half door into the second story crawl space where the water heater is located, a tall unit was needed and Jay put it on hold at the distributor (on his own initiative since they only had two) while I was getting additional information/quotes. We also tried to reproduce the gurgling noise we were hearing (and of course, it didn't occur while he was there.) His hypothesis was that there was a tight run through the joists that had gotten tighter when the house settled and let me know that although there was a chance the replacement would eliminate the gurgle if the fill tube had broken off inside the tank, that it was very possible the gurgle had nothing to do with the hot water heater. I had a variety of questions about the proposed unit and Jay made a couple of calls to the distributor and to Josh to get some additional information. Josh also followed up later in the afternoon by text to answer some additional concerns. After getting a slightly lower quote from an SCE&G recommended contractor and relaying it to Josh, he said he would have the owner contact me and I had several comprehensive texts from Louis, the owner of Servant Plumbing. One thing I had not been aware of until discussing with Louis is that Servant Plumbing would also provide a warranty on the parts and labor for six years (the manufacturer has a six year warranty on the tank). Typical warrranties are 90 days on labor and 1 year on parts so this was definitely a deciding factor. I called Josh the following morning with the go ahead and we set up installation for that afternoon. Jay arrived on time and completed the job in less than 3 hours. (A half hour of that time was spent putting carpet protector film on the steps and hall/room carpet to protect it when carrying out the old unit.) It would have actually taken less time except he had to wait for one of his team members to arrive to help him carry the old unit out and bring the new unit in. Jay was very professional, knowledgable and patient as I was trying to obtain information to help me make the purchase decision. I was also impressed with the quick response I had from both Josh and Louis clarifying the quote and the unit I was planning to purchase. We have lots of hot water and will hopefully save on the gas bills with the newer/better insulated tank. We also have the added bonus that the weird gurling sound has been eliminated.

On the day of installation, everything proceeded as discussed. Josh and Louis delivered the materials that Servant had supplied (all name brand as per our request and exactly to our specifications) and Louis did the installation, which took the better part of the afternoon, during which time he worked continuously. What Josh chose for us was even more beautiful than anticipated (most especially the Kohler sink) and we were very satisfied. We liked the simplicity of the Moen faucet, which was perfect in design and just to our liking, and the disposal is a workhorse and should be reliable for years. Now it is a big relief to open the cabinet under our new sink and see all new hoses/drain pipes/supply lines. Additionally, Louis also volunteered to repair a tricky cabinet hinge that had disengaged just the day prior to Servant doing the installation on the new sink. As we would have had to call someone else to fix it, we were very grateful for his help. One thing that we hadn't asked for but realized in retrospect would have been wise was a line item estimate. We know that Josh would have provided one should we have asked. We relied on him to shop for the materials, and are aware that is something we could have done as well, although as stated, he did a great job interpreting our needs and we appreciated being able to trust him to make wise, reliable choices, having more confidence in him than in our ability to decide on our own. Also, in order to complete warranty/registration materials, we didn't have the exact model number of the sink or accompanying packaging materials but learned from a "how to" video on the manufacturer's website where to look for that information. We are very pleased with the quality of work Josh and Louis performed and would trust and use Servant again for any of our plumbing needs.
Description of Work: After having quite a bit of carpentry work done under and around our kitchen sink due to older water damage, the handyman working on the repairs found that there was still a very slow leak that we had not detected under the sink. Having had Servant Plumbing several times before (most recently this past August) and having been very satisfied, we submitted a service call request by email to have the leak repaired. Josh and Louis came on 11-3-15 to assess the situation and due to finding several critical issues with our older sink and its insecure mounting, they recommended we replace the sink/the faucet/and the disposal, as well as the supporting drain pipes, etc. We had anticipated that this might be the outcome, and after some conversation about what we would want, the company gave us an estimate which we accepted on the spot. We didn't get competing bids, but we felt that the quality of the materials and the service we would be provided would warrant the quoted price and that it would be fair. We did make one change to the original estimate in the type of sink we wanted (an enameled cast iron sink in place of an acrylic sink), and we were able to accomplish the requested change by email through the Angie's List website and by phone, with an acceptable additional price increase. Installation was on 11-9-15, as planned.

I understand most customers don't have the time on their hands to do such reviews, but it is nice to see them occasionally, as it explains everything that we provide from start to finish that a lot of customers are unaware that we do. Contacted through Angie's list and was called to discussed the problem, pricing, and schedule. Plumber showed up right on schedule and performed the work. Plumber was also kind enough to clear a drain in a separate sink while he was here. A little extra service goes a long way in my opinion. Thanks.

Definitely less than our usual stellar reviews :( I don't have a clue what went wrong here, as this was an emergency job on a Friday afternoon, and she was more than appreciative that we fit her in. We gave her several different options, each associated with a price on site. Since the emergency part had been taken care of, simply by turning the valve off, she took the weekend to decide about it. We quoted her three different price ranges for three different types of work. She called a couple more times over the weekend with questions, we were prompt to answer them. She decided on one of the particular options, and told us to proceed. While we were there, in the process of pulling the toilet, the flange was busted and we did tell her it was going to be a little bit more money, $75 to replace the toilet flange. She was more than happy, and when we left, she was definitely smiling. Because she had the weekend to decide about the different price ranges and because we quoted her before we did the work, in other words, she had more than enough time to shop around for other prices if she felt it was too high, I can only speculate. It's always very confusing trying to figure out why we got such a bad grade on price, when not only was the price quoted before we did the work, but she had time to think it over, as it wasn't like we popped in for an emergency situation and she had no choice but to get it taken care of then and there. Since I've been doing this for 35 some odd years, in almost every situation like this, this is what it comes down to. The friendly neighbor next-door, or co-employee at work, or boyfriend, somebody somewhere, comes along once the works been completed, and says "What, they charged you how much? That's ridiculous, I could've done it for..." I've seen it once, I've seen it 100 times. What's amazing to me is not that happening, but what's amazing is the customer not thinking that maybe as professionals, we know something that the next-door neighbor doesn't. And even if not, just because the neighbor could have, maybe, done it cheaper, where was this neighbor when the work needed to be done, and why is it always AFTER the work has been completed that they always come around with the "I could of..." Regardless of the reason, we failed to satisfy this customer 100% and that's unacceptable to me, for any reason at all. We are in the process of trying to contact her now to find out what went wrong and what we can do to make her 100% happy again, as she was when we left.

I had used Servant Plumbing before and was very pleased with their their service so didn't hesitate to call when I began to hear strange "gurgling" sounds from the toilet when I was running the shower. It wasn't overflowing but clearly not normal. It was not an emergency so we made an appointment for two days later and they were able to determine the problem was a tree root most likely causing the water to not flow properly. Josh and Louis were able to chip away a lot of the root so that the flow would improve but needed to come back to see if they could find a Clean Out to check the flow and to use the camera to determine how much of the line was blocked, as I have a lot of trees and shrubs in my yard. With not too much digging, Louis was able to find the old clean out and showed me where a large root had popped the cap and pretty much clogged up the pipe. Replacing the clean out with a new one solved the problem. He checked the rest of the sewermain and it was clear. I could not have asked for any more professional, polite and industrious workers. I would not hesitate to call them if I have any other plumbing issues. Their voice mail says they will call back within 15 minutes and that has been my experience. Josh gave me estimates as to what each visit was likely to cost depending on what they would have to do and that is what it cost. I don't have anything to compare it to but I was not surprised by the amount as it was within the estimates. I cannot say that for everyone I have dealt with over the years. I would, and have recommended them to friends and will continue to do so in the future.
Description of Work: Lifted and reset Master Bath Toilet to cable main line and camera inspect sewer to determine what was blocking a line. Found tree/bush roots and able to chip away a large amount which was causing the blockage. Returned the following week to install a new #" twoway Clean Out as the old one was broken and full of roots. Camera inspection of the rest of the Sewermain showed it was clear to the street.

Responsiveness and professionalism were great. Very prompt, in fact for first visit plumber was at house less than 30 minutes after my phone call. Cost was very reasonable and plumber took time to explain the work needed. All in all a great experience - won't hesitate to call them again for my plumbing needs.

Their price was too high. I couldn't get them afterwards to give me the information I needed for the insurance company. The insurance company still hasn't been able to get them. They are very unresponsive.

Well.... I'm not really sure of a nice or diplomatic way to say this, but the information that she provided in the review is simply not correct. First, the job was $685 not $740. This was an emergency leak in the ceiling on a Sunday. Not only did we respond immediately and spent quite a bit of time out there on Sunday, we also had to return the following Monday to install new a tub valve. This was not a small job and was what we considered a pretty in-depth job that took a considerable amount of time to complete. All in all, this is was a very reasonable price. This price was quoted BEFORE we did the work as we do in all cases. So it's always quite disturbing when we quote a price before we do the work, have the customer agree to it, and then say it was pricey afterwards. That seems to be the nature with emergency work. At the time, the emergency nature is the focal point and the customer is just tickled pink to even find a company whose answering their phone on the weekends much less being able to respond immediately. But then, many many weeks go by and the emergency nature of the call is soon forgotten and the new focal point becomes the price. The customer then called us and asked us to write her an email for the insurance company. We responded to her call immediately. We explained to her, that we were really unsure what to put in the email and it was best to contact her insurance company first to find out what they did and did not cover. She said she would get back with us. Several weeks went by and we did not hear from her. Her daughter or somebody called asking for the email again. We said it was probably best if the insurance company would just call us. The insurance company did call us and we returned the call promptly and spoke with the adjuster. In literally every single instance that we were contacted, we responded immediately, so it is simply untrue they said they were having problems getting a hold of us. No one EVER has a problem getting a hold of us :) Our voicemail says that all calls are returned within 15 minutes, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. That is our calling card so to speak. What separates us from every other company out there. The nature in which we return calls is simply unheard of and nobody returns calls within 15 minutes. But we do. Because so much time has transpired, I suspect that the insurance company has turned down her claim and she is now irritated and looking to take it out on us, at least partially :) I cannot even begin to guess what she said that the insurance company and herself have been having a problem getting a hold of us. It just amazes me that she could possibly say that. She called and we returned her call within 15 minutes. Her daughter called and we returned her call within 15 minutes. And then insurance company called and we returned their call within 15 minutes. Boggles the mind why she would say such a thing! In almost every single case that I can think of, I always make an attempt to contact the customer to see what we can do to make them 100% happy if our services faiedl to leave them 100% happy. In this particular case I'm just going to let it go and leave it at this response. When comments are made that are not truthful, I don't think that anything can be gained by calling the customer who wrote them.

The toilet tank bottom corner cracked on Friday and all the water from the tank came spilling out. Fortunately we have two bathrooms so once the water was turned off the situation was not an emergency. Monday morning I called and left a message (after finding this service on Angie's list) with Servant Plumbing. Their message said they would return my call within 15 minutes and I received a call back in less time than that. Explained what I needed done and was not surprised that I needed to replace the tank and the bowl since they were over 30 years old and did not meet any of the current EPA standards. I knew this from the experiences other friends have had so was not surprised. An appointment was made for Tuesday morning at 9 a.m. Charlie arrived right on time. I could not have asked for a more professional and friendly serviceman. He removed the old toilet and tank, determined what he would need to get for replacement. Returned from the supplier quickly and installed the new equipment. There was an additional charge because the previous toilet had been grouted to the floor as the floor is not even and he explained this to me and showed me what had been there and why it was needed. The price was otherwise exactly what was quoted. I gave them an A on price because they charged what they quoted. I did not do any "plumber shopping" so don't know if it was on the high or low end of a reasonable price, but looking at the cost of comparable toilets/tanks and what we have paid for other service charges by the hour, it seems within reason . The toilet is warrantied for 5 years. What could have been a difficult situation for me at its worst and inconvenient at its best was made so much easier by Servant Plumbing. I would not hesitate to call on them again for any plumbing needs I might have nor would I hesitate to recommend them to family and friends.

We could not have been more pleased with their service. We called them on a Friday night of a holiday (Labor Day) weekend. We told them it wasn't a true emergency but that we were concerned and hoped they would visit us soon. Josh called us back on Friday night and arranged to have Charles, a master plumber at our house on Satuday morning. He was very personable and professional....he evaluated our multi-faceted problem.....provided a recommended fix and a quote within an hour. He arranged to return 5 days later and spent 2 days completing the project. It was the type of work that required a plumbing contractor and they fit the bill. We are extremely pleased that we found Servant Plumbing and though our project was very involved and expensive, we feel very positively about our experience with them. Hopefully we won't have another plumbing need, but realistically we probably will and we'll know exactly who to call.
Description of Work: Assessed our problem with leaking water and a poorly engineered drain. Identified need for water heater replacement and re-engineering to meet the current code. They removed the old water heater....re-routed the water lines...installed the new heater in a different location....removed old drain and installed a more professional sink/drain.

When I realized my hot water was out, I called Servant Plumbing immediately as I'd used them before. Josh was able to fit me into his schedule the same day to give me an estimate. I was disappointed to discover my water heater couldn't be repaired, but these things happen. Josh explained everything to me and was so friendly and personable. The next day (today actually), Josh showed up with the water heater, and I left him to the job. When I returned five hours later, the water heater was installed, the water was hot, and Josh had left a nice surprise?a discount for being an Angie's List member. I can't ask for anything better than that! And this is why I keep Servant Plumbing's magnet on my refrigerator! ETA: I was a bit disappointed to see that the same day that my water heater was installed, Servant Plumbing offered deals that were approximately half the price of what I paid. I wish I'd been told those specials were available or upcoming.

Wow!!! Most people probably don't think I'm being honest, but I can genuinely tell you that very few things in life make my day as much as a review like this!! Tells me that I'm doing things right and most importantly, that the customer thinks so also. Thank you for taking your time in writing such a good review, and know that they are all very meaningful to me! Customer updated her review with a comment after my response that she was somewhat concerned about our pricing because she saw we were running specials on Angie's list much cheaper. I think she just got a little confused. I called and explained that the specials we are running are for 40 and 50 gallon electric water heater installs. Her job was for an 80 gallon install and also did a complete conversion from gas to electric. This of course is a night and day difference than the specials we are running versus the actual work we performed :)

Charles evaluated our list of plumbing problems and gave us an estimate, which was very much in line with what we'd anticipated. We authorized him to proceed with the work, which he did on-time, efficiently, and well. We are delighted with the results. We had initially purchased a $200 deal ($200 for $300 worth of plumbing repairs), but ended not using it, because we received a better deal by using Servant's 11% off Angie's List coupon. Once we bought the deal online, we heard by email from the company and provided them with several windows of time for a service call. Charles arrived both the first and second day as expected and once we'd agreed on his performing the work, gave us time estimates for both days so that our neighbors would know when their water over a two-day period would be turned off. His estimation was right on target (actually, he accomplished the work in less time than estimated), which was an important factor for us as we live in a condo complex. He knew exactly what he was doing, came well-prepared, and was very pleasant to deal with. It was a great relief for us to have quality work performed to code by a master plumber and to know that the company stands by their work. Charles had to problem-solve how to fit the new water heater in the allocated space in a small storage area, which he did successfully. Even though both the old and new were 40-gallon water heaters, the replacement heater took up more space due to the demands of new energy efficiency standards. Charles also made a point of showing me how to maintain the new water heater by flushing it twice a year. While Charles was here, he evaluated, on his own initiative, other plumbing fixtures that were not on our "to do" list. He replaced a bolt in one toilet and tightened a joint under the sink in our hallway bathroom that dripped, neither of which he charged us for. He also explained what we would need to look for in order to replace the faucet in our kitchen sink. We felt we had made a very good investment in having Servant do the work and attend to plumbing issues that we had ignored for as long as we could. For us, it was an expense, but one well worth it.
Description of Work: Not having had a plumber for quite awhile, we had a list of items that needed attention and were repaired/replaced by Charles at Servant Plumbing over a two-day period: two toilet re-builds (neither toilet had been attended to in at least eight years and they "ran," one "moaned" on flushing, and the other had the handle arm/chain held together with a rubber band). The tub/shower handles (at least one leaked) in two bathrooms were replaced. And the water heater, which was over 15 years old, was replaced.

Charlie did a great job! The job took less time than estimated. He was professional and left both rooms spotless. This involved two trips - the first to diagnose and the second to fix it. They purchased the new faucet so I did not have to (although I could have if desired). Calls to the business were returned promptly and they accommodated our schedule. We will use them again if needed.
Description of Work: replaced the faucet in the shower which involved cutting a hole in the closet that backed it, putting an access plate over that, replacing our water shut-off valve, cleaned the drain in the master shower
