Overall the quality of the house was decent. However, there was a lot of sloppy work that was done. They used sub-par contractors and that showed through in the details. The worst part of the experience has been the 1 year warranty work. I first contacted Blake (the superintendent for Sabal) in August to schedule my 1 year warranty work. That began the last 4 months of frustration. I took multiple days off work to meet the contractors at my house. They would show up late, work for a couple of hours and leave. This happened two times over the course of a couple months (yes, a couple of months). The second time they were supposed to send 2 people so they could get it all done, but they didn't. During this time Blake was unresponsive to my emails and phone calls asking him when the work would be completed. I contacted his supervisor and still no response. When he finally contacted me to schedule the third appointment with the contractors I told him that I wasn't taking another day off of work and that it would have to be done over the weekend. One month later he finally contacted me and said they would be coming over on Saturday. The guy showed up on Saturday and got most of the stuff done. But my kitchen cabinets are still messed up (one is cracked and one door warped). Blake told me that he isn't responsible for the cabinet company and he can't control them or when they fix my cabinets. Really!!!??? It's been going on for 4 months! They are your sub-contractor, your employees! If they aren't getting the work done, which obviously they aren't, then find someone who will. I paid Sabal home to build my house and for the warranty that came with it. Don't tell me you aren't responsible for getting the work done. I am frustrated to no end. This has been going on for 4 months. It is completely ridiculous. The unprofessional attitude that I have experienced with Sabal is the worst part. Buy from someone else. After these people get your money they are done with you. If you would like some more info I have 4 months of emails that I would be glad to forward to anyone interested. Update 1/13/2015 on December 18th I was told that everything was on order for my house and that it would be taken care of promptly. I haven't heard back from Sabal since that time.
