 + -1 moreMarc determined that it was not the computer having the issues as much as it was the forced upgrade to Windows 10 from 7. He re-installed Windows 7 and blocked it from upgrading again, and restored all files as they were before. I had talked to the squad at the big box store and they told me what all steps they would require in order to do the project. With Marc, he just did his job without any red tape, and additionally added a new hard drive. This saved me from having to buy a new computer, and all was done at a fraction of the cost. I cannot say enough about how good Marc and his company Pleasant Computer Repair is. Fantastic!!
Description of Work: My 7 year old computer would not reboot thanks to wonderful Windows 10.

 + -1 moreWe had an electrical outage and when the electricity came back on the router and the modem were no good. He deleted my antivirus software because I didn't need it. Because of that my computer is running a lot faster. He was the only one who actually answered the phone when I called. I needed him to buy the router, and he suggested a lower cost router but I have a little more complicated WiFi problem and he told me what to buy. I told him I did not want the cheapest because that is what he suggested to buy. I told him I have a long house and I have trouble getting WiFi through the whole house. So he bought the next best thing up. He called me up at the store to tell me what my choices were. He was just totally responsive to my concerns.
Description of Work: I had someone come and install a new router and a modem.

 + -1 moreThey're fine. You can't get into his work space, he'll either come to your house or meet you at a mutual site. He does not work on the mechanics of the computer, so if you damage the case or something that's not his thing. He fixed my problem and did it fairly quickly and gave me some good advice.

 + -1 moreMark arrived on time (even on a Sunday). He's very flexible and can provide services around the clock, which is very convenient since we both work. In about 2 hours, he replaced the old router, set up the new wireless network and set up a new Lenovo ThinkPad laptop. He installed free antivirus software and gave me a tour of Windows 10. Mark is very knowledgeable and his fees are very reasonable. We'll keep using Pleasant Computer Repair for all our computer needs.

Description of Work: Mark retrieved files off of our damaged hard drive from our tower and put them on a disc for us. Hard drive was not repairable. He was also able to repair our daughter's laptop which could not boot up to windows. He was very quick to cover our need.

He was easy to work with, quick and extremely adept. Unbelievable service and professional adviser. He went out of his way to make sure his service was exceptional.
Description of Work: Diagnosed problems with my old computer and provided me with estimates on the repair. Gave me sound advice on the choice of a new computer. Downloaded my old computer files on the new one, and provided me with a hard disk drive from it. Offered free additional time for questions/problem solving.

 + -1 moreI liked the guy from the company and he was good. His price seemed reasonable but I do not remember how much it was. He seemed like a nice guy but his office was a little weird because he is in an office where he shares a secretary with a bunch of other companies, so you do not ever really go in his office. You just go in a company that is shared, which is an interesting concept. There is a whole bunch of companies there. They are saving money by sharing the receptionist, so I guess I should not complain. His price must have been good and he had the hard drive when he said that he would. He also seemed to know his stuff. If a need comes up, I will hopefully use him again.
Description of Work: I used Pleasant Computer Repair in November for replacing my hard drive since it was going bad and getting all my data back.

He went above and beyond. Marc gave me the impression that he is the kind of guy who would have stayed for 3 hours or until the job was done. It's rare to come across someone so honest and dependable. Incredible service.

His mission was to retrieve my data and he achieved it very well. It was a little bit hard to get in touch with them a couple of times.

Description of Work: Highly recommend! Professional, courteous and on time. My Computer "crashed after a power surge , when lightning hit and marc was able to reboot my sysytem and reset all of my online connections, printers etc. including my credit card processing settings.

 + -1 moreMarc has consistently done an excellent job and at a very reasonable price. He is always punctual and solves our problems rapidly. We recommend him to anyone who is looking for someone to aid them with computer problems.
Description of Work: We had Marc come by our home to assist us as we transitioned from a defunct, frozen Hewlett-Packard computer to an IMac. I suspect that due to some horrendous virus of some kind, our old computer was totally nonfunctional and "frozen." The folks at the Apple store said it was impossible to download the information on it -- all seemed to be lost. Unfortunately, my wife and I (both over 60) know little about computers, so we were lost. Marc came over, explained to us in a clear way what the problem was, and successfully transferred the information from our old computer to our new one. Why he could do it and the technical folks at the Apple store couldn't perplexes me. Magic? I don't know. But he clearly knows his way in and around these machines and was able to solve what appeared to be an unsolvable problem. Startrek fans might suspect that he has a Spock-like "mind-meld" with computers when diagnosing and treating their ailments. Marc has been our dependable "computer jock" for other things as well, such as setting up long-term back-up storage for us.
