I was referred to Scott and he came by within a day, diagnosed the problems, ordered the parts we needed (found the cheapest prices available also) and was back within a few days ti fix everything. It is all working perfectly now. He is incredibly honest, very fair on pricing, and his service is top notch. I highly recommend him for any printer repair needs you have. We could not be more satisfied.

Our HP printer jammed and we couldn't fix it ourselves. Although there do not seem to be many printer repair businesses in the Mt. Pleasant area, we found J. Scott Dempsey and his repair company, Charleston Printer Repair. Scott was very responsive to phone calls and the repair estimate was reasonable.We dropped off the printer at his home/office and the repair was done in 2 days. So far, the printer is behaving itself.

Charleston Printer Repair is very responsive and, with decades of experience, the owner is an expert on a wide variety of printers. They are the only firm in town that can repair both consumer-grade printers and business-grade printers. 1. All of the local printer repair firms will maintain and repair business-grade or enterprise-class printers ($$$, high-duty cycle). 2. Charleston Printer Repair is the ONLY firm I can recommend for people who have personal printers: low duty cycle consumer-grade printers for individuals and Small Office Home Office users. There are almost no people left that work on small consumer/SOHO printers in Charleston (or elsewhere). I called everyone that had a "printer repair" business and discovered that Charleston Printer Repair is the only business in town that can actually repair an HP Consumer/SoHo printer. The rest of the local firms told me to call HP or buy a new printer. 1. HP OfficeJet 6500 - this is a consumer/SoHo-grade All-In-One color printer (inexpensive, low duty cycle). He successfully got the print carriage "unstuck" but could not clear the "Paper Jam" error code. This is a common error with HP printers and it is tied to a circuit board failure. Would cost more to fix than the printer is worth - if - you could find the parts. So we stopped working on it at this point. 2. HP LaserJet P3005 - this is an business-grade B&W Network printer (workhorse, med-high usage for an office). He found and removed a paperclip that was stuck in the fuser roller creating print problems. He also replaced a small component in the printer that had worn out free of charge! Works great!
