A to Z Home Inspections

Mike arrived on time. Went about his inspection. The inspection took about an hour or two, but he was under the house and in the attic. He took great pictures that were in his inspection to show were and what he was talking about that he needed replaced or repaired. He also noted if it was a safety issue or a repair. Mike is truly a master at what he does. Answered all our questions. Made himself available for any Q&A after he gave us his formal report. Which he delivered the same day of the inspection. My realtor and Bank officer were so impressed by the pictures and the attention to detail they have added him to their list of preferred inspectors. We feel we could call him today and ask questions and he would happily respond.

Thorough inspections was done and Mike explained all the findings in person and through his report.

The service went well. One person came out for the inspection. They were informative and punctual. They provided a full report of things regarding the home. I had no problem scheduling the service.

I honestly cannot say enough good things about working with Mike. After reading glowing reviews about his company on Angie's list and his informative web site (including prices) I called him on a Tuesday night around 8:30 expecting to leave him a voice mail message and hear from him the next day. Within five minutes I received a text message and he offered to hold an appointment for Friday (throughout the next day) until an appointment could be scheduled with the seller's realtor. He was early for the inspection and texted to say he was on his way. He started looking at the outside until we got there 15 minutes later. During the inspection he was very thorough and explained issues as he found them. He used state-of-the-art thermal imaging equipment that detects heat, cold and water issues. After the inspection he patiently explained all of the pictures he took with his digital camera and loaded on his laptop computer. The inspection lasted a little over two hours (due in part to Mike answering our many questions during the process) starting at 12:30; by 7:30 the same night Mike sent us an email including three attachments - a detailed 33 page report including pictures of items that should be repaired or replaced (Indicating safety concerns), a three page summary of the repair/replace items, and a folder with all of the pictures he took that afternoon. We sent his report to the seller's agent and referenced it during contract negotiations. During these negotiations Mike answered our numerous follow-up questions extremely promptly. After the sellers made the requested repairs Mike came back to perform a re-inspection (with only a one day notice) and sent a four page report of his findings (with new pictures), including items that were not fixed. He offered to come back again at no charge when the two remaining items were repaired. As we are relatively new to the area, he provided references for a chimney sweep, a termite inspection company, a handy man, and for window replacements. Mike is a true pleasure to work with and I HIGHLY recommend him.

Michael was fantastic! I wasn't sure that a home inspector was even needed for new construction but boy am I glad we did this! Mike used advanced technology to determine that there was no insulation in the attic above the master bedroom. So many things were found that I would have never thought of. The inspection was fast and efficient but very thorough. It was great being able to discuss his findings and then get a full report with pictures and notes. A get down to business list was provided for the builder for the things that had to be corrected. Mike also gives you things to monitor to keep up with maintenance with links to sources of supply. Very helpful. If you want a very thorough inspection with added bonuses and a very professional provider-Michael is your man!

Mike was very quick to get an appointment scheduled for us and the turnaround time for the report was excellent (same night). He took many photos that were made available to use through Google Drive, which was very convenient. The report itself was extremely detailed, organized and easy to follow. His attention to detail is extensive as he does not miss anything and wants the buyer to feel informed about every concern he may have. He is very knowledgeable and I felt very secure with the information on the home. He is also very friendly, prompt, and his prices are extremely reasonable. I would recommend Mike for any home inspection needs.

Mike was very helpful in pointing out things that we could fix ourselves and things we would need a professional to do. His prices, which are listed right on his website, were great compared so some of the quotes we got from other companies. Mike was timely, respectful, super fast and full of extensive construction knowledge. My realtor, neighbors and I all found it to be quite the educational experience. Because the house was still under-construction, we have invited Mike back for the re-inspection (funny enough is tomorrow). I am extremely glad I contacted A to Z home inspections. Mike arrived promptly at the time agreed upon and after introductions went right to work. He performed a thorough evaluation of the outside structures of my home even walking the roof, finding a major issue I would not have been aware of without his attention to detail. During the inspection of the interior of my home, he went over every inch of it, covering areas I did not even know would be inspected. Mike was extremely knowledgeable, professional and a pleasure to talk to. As he went room to room during the inspection,he took the time to explain everything in understandable terms answering any questions I may have had as we went along. Then later that evening, I received an email of my full detailed inspection document, including copys of the pictures taken. I would highly recommend Mike to friends, family or anyone looking for piece of mind, whether your buying, selling, or like me just want to know the condition of your current home, it is money well spent. Mike at A to Z was very professional. I scheduled him to come out on both occasions very quickly he even fit me in on the weekend since he was booked all the next week. His reports are very detailed and and educational for the home buyer as well. He got them to me within 24 hours or less of the inspection. I attended the final inspection of the house and in no way did he feel like I was in his way, I recommend this if possible. I will definitely be using him again in the future.

I wan very pleased. Mike went throughly through everything with great attention to detail. He also gave ideas on repairs and prioritized what needed to be done and what was only a minor cosmetic issue. it was definitely worth the price.

Mike answered his phone on first call and scheduled my inspection within 1-2 days. He was early, professional, thorough and personable. This home had an inspection completed on it 6 months prior, due to a sale that did not close; however, Mike found minor, yet relevant, issues the prior inspector did not. He also identified a number of issues that were not of great concern, but were now ruled by newer codes and could easily corrected to conform to "better building practices" - saving me potential future maintenance issues. His report was in my inbox within hours - and he provided me with a school teacher discount of 10%. Particularly since I was able to compare his report to another inspector's, I would recommend A to Z to any homebuyer looking for a comprehensive, reliable inspection.

I found A to Z home inspections on Angies List, my first time using the website, and I could not be happier. I went with Mike rather than the home inspector recommended by my realtor (who is also on Angies list but not rated nearly as well) and I was very impressed. He was extremely easy to get a hold of, and was able to make an appointment with me a week after I called! Mike showed up right on time and got straight to work. The inspection was very thorough, Mike went over every inch, opened every window, and checked every crawlspace. He did multiple tests including an infrared scan of the house that shows any missing insulation, hidden leaks, etc, and took lots of pictures. He answered any and all questions in detail and was very easy to get along with. I highly recommend him to anyone who has a home they need inspected, he has decades of experience and puts it to use. His final report is very detailed and includes a general summary in addition to his specific contractor recommendations. WISH I COULD RATE HIM HIGHER!

Mike was very punctual and professional before, during, and after the inspection. While there is less to worry about in a brand new home, it does make us feel much better to have an independent party who knows the ins and outs of constructing a home confirm what we already believed. He does the standard inspections to determine if anything is not up to code, but goes a step further to highlight "better building practices" which are usually cosmetic, but explains how he would have done something given the option. I am very pleased with the information that he provided us and am very glad that I was able to attend the entirety of the inspection. He pointed things out as we went along and showed us the pictures and explained everything in even further detail immediately after his inspection was completed. He even mailed us the full inspection report, pictures, and summary within a few hours of completing the job! All around an A+ job from Mike and I would highly recommend him to anyone who wants the unbiased, straightforward view of what a buyer should expect from their new home.

We were unable to be at the inspection in person however we felt as though we did not need to be. Michael was able to answer any question we may have and did the inspection thoroughly without fail. I would highly recommend Michael to anyone because of his professionalism, courtesy, and awesome customer service.

Mike is nothing short of amazing. It is not merely his experience, professionalism, technical skill and use of state of the art equipment, he is also adept at problem solving. If you ask him to get a job done, and he says he is going to do it, it is as good as done already. On this occasion, we didn't even need to be on site for him to make it happen. On the first occasion, he not only performed a thorough inspection of the home we were thinking about buying, he was also kind enough to allow me time to make it to the site from my place of work, so that he could show me what he had found, and explain in plain English what he was going to put in his report. His report on both occasions was well documented and thoroughly detailed. Mike is also very easy going and has a very pleasant personality, both in person, over the phone and in his email contacts with my wife and I. Buying a home can be a very stressful experience, especially when you have to do it so far away from your family and the people you have known all of your life... Mike made our experience so much easier! If it were possible to give him grades higher than an A, I would do it

Excellent service, fair price, with a highly skilled inspector - From the first phone call to the inspection report, A to Z Home Inspections provided exceptional service and was great to work with. Mike fit us in on a particularly booked day so that we could get this done in accordance with our sales contract. We arrived about 1.5 hr into the inspection and were able to interact on site. I highly recommend this, as does Mike! Mike walked us through all of the needed repairs and issues with great attention to the detail. He also provided us with information about the needed repairs and made it clear when something was a costly, significant issue vs. a small one that we could take care of ourselves. Basically, while you are ready to go crazy with all of the information about what is wrong with the house, he provides some calm energy and gives you information that realigns your reaction with the actual severity of the issue! His report was thorough and complete. The photos and additional markup helped illustrate the issues. We were even provided information on best building practices so that we would be able to improve upon the existing work when we take possession of the home. We could not be more satisfied with the work.
