Description of Work: He was great! Very down-to-earth, funny, and knew his stuff. He had to come out again due to the electricity reader being stolen but he didn't charge for that, which was very sweet! He is genuinely awesome and I would recommend him to anyone!

Description of Work: Called for inspection of a new construction home to verify i had not made a mistake in my decision of buying this home, as I had been misled by builder, frankly lied to and was worried about my decision to buy this property. Mr. Michael Gault was prompt and provided a thorough inspection not once but twice. Mr. Gaults initial inspection found deficiencies and code violations by the builder that Charleston City Building Inspections had missed. Don't make a mistake like I did. Call in Mr. Gault the minute you enter into a contract to buy a home, particularly new construction. He will support you and protect you in verifying the proper home building, your most important investment of your life. He provide full inspection of home, including thermal imaging which I had not asked for, and he didn't try and squeez me for monies. A true professional.

He was friendly and professional and was understanding when I had to reschedule the inspection twice because of seller delays. Mike also gave me some great ideas on repairs that needed to be made on the home. I would not hesitate to recommend his company to other home buyers!

+ -1 moreMike was great to work with. He answered/returned calls and emails promptly, showed up at my home 5 minutes early, and was very personable. He spent about 1.5 hours going over our 1760 sq.ft. home and took digital photos of everything. Once he was done his inspection, he loaded the photos onto his laptop and went through all of his notes with me, explaining things clearly as I have no construction/engineering knowledge at all. By the end of the day I had an email with 2 PDF files, one being a full, 29-page report with color photos and the other being a concise summary report. There weren't any major problems with our home, but it was a relief to have a licensed inspector tell me that rather than worry about the home builder not telling me so they won't have to cover it under their 1st year warranty. Best price I found, although the Angie's List coupon is now a 10% discount rather than a $65 discount. Still a great price. I will hire him for any future home inspections and would recommend him to anyone.
Description of Work: Mike came and inspected our new home as we are up for our 11 month followup with the builder. He completed a full inspection of the interior and exterior of the home. He was able to point out and explain many small problems that I never would have noticed and am sure the home builder would ignore unless I said something.

+ -1 moreAll in all, it went very well. I would definitely use him again. He was a bit pricier than I expected, but I felt that I received very good service, and got my money's worth.
Description of Work: Contracted with this company to conduct a home inspection and report findings. Michael Gault did a great job, from his initial professional contact, in a timely manner, to his actual inspection to the (multiple!) reports he created; a condensed, four page "executive" version", and also a comprehensive (30+ page) version, as well. Michael included digital photos of all problem areas and was willing to discuss any issues and corrective actions that needed to be taken at length.
