Found Ted on Angie's List. Called him to repair heatpump at one of my rental houses. Gave me a quote, called me back after the job was complete and told me the total was less than the original quote. Have used him time after time and he continues to amaze me with his professionalism, knowledge and honesty. My tenants rave about him, and make a point to let me know what a great job he did. He looks out for my best interests all the time. I have used so many contractors/repairman over the years, but I have never used one like Ted. I don't know what I'll do if he ever retires.....

Mr Cook arrived on time, quickly evaluated my furnace and the problem. He explained the options for repair vs replacement (18 year old original system). Based on his great ratings and my judgement (I have no personal HVAC experience) I chose to replace my furnace. The next morning the furnace was replaced and the old removed all as promised, on time, efficiently and cleanly. Mr Cook also noticed an issue with a condensate drain (it has been a problem since I bought this house, the AHS HVAC guy could never fix it) which he corrected at no charge. I inquired about a problem with my gas fireplace, Mr Cook showed mw what I was doing wrong and made a recommendation. Nice to have such a quality service company in the area.

He came out and found a loose wire so charged me his minimum service fee and that was it. He gets A's across the board and I will use him again in the future.

After noticing that my AC unit not cooling my house I went outside only to find the unit covered in ice. I tried some tricks to defrost it but realized this fix was beyond my scope. I searched on line and saw favorable reviews for Ted Cook Heating. I called on a Sunday night and was pleasantly surprised to have a human answer the phone it was Ted Cook. I explained my situation to Ted and he suggested that a refrigerant recharge was likely the best course of action. We tentatively scheduled an appointment for later on Monday night. At the time we made the agreement Ted did explain his schedule was booked and for any reason he couldn't make it he would give me a call. Initially i expected a visit to fix the A/C on Monday was a bit optimistic and I thought certainly by Tuesday. Ted did get back to me and was very apologetic for not calling sooner. He explained the situation and I was happy to hear it. We scheduled a firm appointment and ted himself showed up on time and fixed my AC unit. I am currently siitng a 72 degree house...thankfully. I had a chance to talk with Ted for a few minutes, he seems is fair and is defiantly an honest contractor. should I need HVAC work in the future I will certainly call Ted Cook to help.

My neighbor called me after she contacted the business and they said that they would be out to see if they could assist and she seemed pleased. Several hours later I received a phone call from my neighbor telling me how happy she was with the services performed and how great the technician was! Her A/C was returned to service and she was ecstatic! We will definitely use them for our service requirements in the future and thanks to Angie's List for making this happen for my neighbor!

Our AC unit stopped working on July 4th. I called Ted and he picked up the phone. I explained what had happened and he said he would be by on Tuesday. Ted came to our home and was able to fix the AC in a half hour! Everything is working. I will continue to use Ted's services.

Mr. Cook made a very good 1st impression on the phone but it took 3 phone calls and 1 week to have him finally come look at our AC. He didn't charge us anything. He said it was an installation problem. But I had actually called another company and they were coming out the same day that TED COOK AC actually showed up. He told me the reason he didn't get to me sooner was beside I didn't call every day and harass him.

Ted provided a quote for the work to be performed and I scheduled the work about 3 weeks later after receiving several competitive bids. One bid was close in price, but they did not take the time that Ted did in walking me through what I was getting and how the work would be performed. Ted showed up on time the next week. The new system and improved ducting were installed one day and the system was wired up and turned on the next day. If the weather had not been so nice and mild, he would have stayed late to start it up the first day

Of course, we were not happy with having to spend that much money in this economy but when both of you AC units go out at the same time, you have no choice. Mr. Cook returned our initial call very promptly. He explained why we needed to do what he was telling us to do. He rearranged his schedule to suit our schedules as we have home offices. He was helpful with the aesthetic value of the outside units. He made sure that plastic was laid on the carpet for less of a mess. We would use him again and will use him for the annual checkups.

He was very knowledgeable and had a good price. The workers were very good and there were no complications. The work went extremely well and we were evry happy with it.

I called Mr. Cook at about 8pm because I wanted to get my call in early. He answered, we discussed what was going on with my system, and he assured me he'd be at my home before lunch time. He was there by 10.30 and was gone by 11.15.

I advised Ted about the diagnosis provided by another service provider who then did not show up despite repeated attempts to schedule a repair appointment. Ted Cook ordered the part that the other service provider had diagnosed as faulty however it turned out that this was not the issue. actually a "zone" circuit board was faulty and not the control board in the furnace that had been flagged as the source of the problem. Chagrined at not having completed his own diagnosis of the issue Ted charged at his cost the furnace cirsuit board that was installed and spent over 2 hours determining and repairing the system while only charging a nominal service fee (EXTREMELY fair!) as he felt responsible for not having done his own due diligence in determining what the issue really was. I will not hesitate to recommend Ted to any and all in the Greenville area requiring HVAC sales and or service: - he calls back in a timely fashion - he shows up - he was very professional and competent - he was extraordinarily fair ( a very rare occurence) in assuming responsibility for a tactical error (assuming the prior diagnosis was accurate) - he stayed late to get the job done to our satisfaction Many service providers would do well to emulate Ted Cook's approach to business. he is and will continue to excel in his field of practice

Ted was very professional and thorough. I tend to ask a lot of questions, but he answered them all to my satisfaction. The system install went quickly, despite delays from the inspector.

He was great--very prompt, nice, competent. Would definitely use him aagain.

My air conditioning was blowing hot air into my home during the days in June 2010 that we had had 16 days straight of temperatures in the 90's. I called Ted Cook, early in the morning of June 26 and he was friendly, courteous and told me that he would be able to come out that afternoon. He did and fixed it quickly and for much less than I had expected and I didn't have to wait for parts. He had the part on his truck. Quick, professional and made me remember that there are good people in the world who aren't out to take advantage of others. As a single mom of two young girls, having the air up and running was greatly appreciated. Not only would I reccommend Ted to others, I will call on him for all of my heating and cooling services in the future. Thanks again, Ted.
