Ted was excellent to work with. He was professional and on time and at my request ordered the part by mail to ensure I had the lowest price. He was over to install the board when it arrived and also installed two thermostats one of which I had purchased and the other he purchased to give me the lowest possible price. I had called out another company to quote for the same work which was about 20% higher. I am looking for a contractor I can work with long term to fix issues with the HVAC system I have and Ted certainly fits the bill. I would recommend him highly to any homeowner who wants a supplier who is willing to work with them as opposed to larger companies that have fixed (more expensive rates) to cover their larger overhead. My thanks to Ted for all the excellent work he did and for being available at any time to respond to my calls.

Installation went well; all of our carpet on the stairs and landing was covered for protection. A installation team (two men) was very professional while installing the system. Ted arrived in the afternoon to check the work that was done to be sure it was to his satisfaction.....it was done very professionally. Because of the brand new technology of the system we selected, Ted had arranged for a manufacturer's technical representative to accompany him the following day and thoroughly check out the system's installation as well as instruct us on how to use the touch screen controller. We are very pleased with Ted and his expertise. He is very responsive and truly cares about his customers. He always does more than expected.

What a great experience to work with such a fine professional team. They were all very kind, informative and worked to resolve our situation so we could have hot water that night! We established a very good relationship and we will be using him again.

We completed a whole-house renovation several years ago, during which time our air conditioning system was completely reconfigured. Our utility bills were through the roof and we were still getting uneven heating and cooling throughout the home. The company that installed our new system was non-responsive, so I called Ted. After about an hour of investigating, he came back to me with a very well thought out proposal. A day later, the system was re-configured again and throughout our home is as comfortable as it has ever been. We also had him put in a tankless water heater, with which we are very satisfied. I was so pleased with the overall value and and quality that I asked him to come do some more extensive work for me at my manufacturing facility . That, too, was completed professionally and in very short order. I only wish I could find other suppliers that performed as well as they do.

Ted Cook was super! He cheerfully came to our house on a Sunday, after we noticed that one of our outflow vents was not working. The 16 year old vent pipe had fallen off and we could not fix it because of the tension on the pipe. After calling several other HVAC companies online who could not come soon, were going to charge a large amount for excess supplies and the service etc., I looked on Angie's List and chose Ted Cook based of all his wonderful recommendations. Ted was most agreeable to come to the opposite side of town and fix this for us (on a Sunday). It did not take him long to fix. He was very professional and extremely nice. It gave us a great peace of mind to know we were no longer air conditioning the crawl space and that no critters would be able to climb into the vent. I learned Ted has worked for many of my co-workers, but I found him on Angie's List. I am so glad to know I have someone I can call if we have more HVAC surprises! Ted was nice, honest, very fair in price, and most important, he fit is into his schedule FAST.

Monday morning, Sept. 10th, we noticed the ceiling above our upstairs landing had water damage to the point that some of the sheet rock had come loose and the carpet below was wet. Since our A/C units were located in the attic right above the area, we assumed the problem was originating from there. We immediately went to Angie's list for help. After a good bit of research, we decided to call Ted Cook Heating Service. When I explained the problem over the phone, he made time in his schedule to come that day. On his initial inspection, he discovered that the secondary drain which flows into the A/C drip pan had not directed the flow into the drip pan to trigger the switch that would have cut off the unit. Our home is only 6 years old and it was apparent that this connection had not been done properly at the time of installation (otherwise it would have operated as intended and not caused the water damage). He instructed us to not run our downstairs unit until he could come back the next day to repair it. He also advised us to call our insurance company and get a claim number before any other repairs were made. He gave us a range of what the repairs to the A/C could cost, but wouldn't know exactly until he could determine the cause of the problem. The next day, Tuesday, he called an hour before he arrived, telling us when he would come (as he did the day before). After replacing the section of PVC, which included a proper seal and fit, and cleaning out the primary drains to the outside, he determined the A/C was running properly. He asked us to check the outside drain periodically to be sure it was evident that the output was flowing as it should. We cannot say enough about how much we appreciate Ted's attention to our problem. He not only gave us great service at a very fair price, he was courteous and gave us good advise on how to proceed forward (insurance, recommendations for the repairs and carpet, etc) making it pretty obvious he cares about his customers, even when they are strangers. We have had the carpet addressed and are awaiting the ceiling repairs, and, thanks to Ted, our A/C is working properly. We consider Ted a "God send" and we'll be calling him for any of our A/C and heating needs in the future.

Our A/C for three years under home warranty required additional freon. During the couple of weeks of heat wave in April, our A/C system was really struggling to keep us below 78F. We knew we had to replace our 18 yr old system. We contacted 7 local companies, including Ted Cook Heating and Service (which we found on Angie's List as the highest rated). After interviewing all 7 companies, we knew that Ted Cook was the man for the job. We had 7 quotes, ranging from $4,800 to $13,000! Ted was not the cheapest at $6,800, but we knew we were getting the best for our money, and for the size of our house. He has a straightforward approach, no slick gimmicks or difficulty in understanding what you're buying. We bought a 96%AFUE gas furnace and an A/C with a few bells and whistles, and a 5" media filter - perfect for our ~1500 sq ft with high ceilings. We were able to schedule him in within 2 weeks. Unfortunately, the day the unit was replaced, it was one of the coldest we'd had in April. He tested both the A/C and furnace thoroughly, and we had to keep the furnace on! After a couple of weeks, and as we got into the warmer part of May, it was evident that our bedroom and guest room sides of the house were not well balanced. (This was a problem with the old system, too, so we knew this was going to be a real challenge, because the layout of our original duct work when the house was built was less than stellar.) We contacted Ted and asked him if he would help with the balance issues. After a few weeks of different tests (covering vents with books) and readjusting the system, it was evident we needed another register in our bedroom. He installed it free of charge, because he said from the beginning with our original quote: He will make the system right to make his customers happy. You might think Ted to be a little unconventional; that is definitely one of the most refreshing things about working with him. While the other guys bring on slick sales pitches that last for multiple hours (no kidding), Ted brought straight up honesty and integrity. He explained what he would do, what he wouldn't do, and what he needed us to do. Customer service is job 1 for Ted, and for that, I would recommend him to anyone!! Thanks, Ted!

Ted was personable, efficient, and did a good job explaining the services he was providing. He promptly returned phone calls and came out quickly. He also only charged for the services provided instead of charging an additional service fee as well. Very honest and reliable.

No answer. Left voice mail with both home and cell phone number slowly and clearly pronounced. Three days later and still no callback on either line. I had read reviews noting that customers had not gotten a callback. Should have paid more attention. If this company cannot even return a telephone call, then I have serious doubts about the level of service they can provide in other more important areas. Simply unbelievable. Very hard to believe that this company has a "service award." Other two companies I called, also highly rated here, answered the phone on the first ring and were able to immediately schedule an evaluation.

I have a heat pump/AC unit that is under warranty. I was quoted by another HVAC Service company (who shall remain nameless) for almost twice what Ted quoted. Ted's final price was right around his estimate. He took the time to explain what my issues were and why I was having AC problems. I will continue to use Ted and I will recommend him to ANYONE. He is honest, sincere, and a breath of fresh air in this world of cut-throat, dishonest service professionals. If I ever move to another home in the area, I will continue to call on Ted.

Of course it was over the weekend when the unit stopped cooling. I called first thing Monday morning and was told I would get service same day. What a relief. Our older dog stays home all day and for her to be in the heat all day would have been tough on her. By evening on Monday we werefeeling the cool and a great deal of appreciation.

Ted was prompt and thorough in responding to my initial request for service. He provided diagnosis of the problem with the existing furnace. Then he recommended replacing the furnace and provided a verbal quote to replace the furnace. However, I asked for a written quote 6 times, once face-to-face, twice over the phone, and three times via e-mail. However, I never received the quote for service on a furnace for my home. When Ted finally did send a quote after many requests and communication exchanges, it was the wrong quote for another person. I brought this to his attention via e-mail, but he did not respond back. Ted said that he sent the quote via e-mail a number of times. I just never received it. However, when I rated his service on Angie's List, he was able to successfully send me an e-mail and call me at home. On the positive side, Ted did not charge me for a service call. This would normally be ~$60-$70. It's just unfortunate that he could not provide the quote for service. If e-mail doesn't work, then US postal service would work. I did go through a similar process with two other HVAC service companies in the area and did not encounter the same problem.

I called Ted and he returned my call promptly. He called me prior to heading to my home so I was able to meet him there and not to miss any time from work. Ted arrived 5 minutes after I did. He was very professional. He wasted no time inspecting my unit and determining that there was a leak in the system. He explained the options and we determined the best one was just to re-charge the unit and see how long it lasts. He charged the system and then checked it to make sure it was cooling properly. I mentioned that I called him after reviewing him on Angie's List and he removed the $65 service call charge. I would recommend him in the future.

Five Star Rating ! Ted was everything his possitive reviews said. Great Guy. He sat down with us for two hours and answered all of our questions. We were going to go with a much more expensive system, he saved us thousands of dollars going with this system. It's only been a few days, but we love the new heat pump, it's quiet and has a more comfortable air flow through the house. Ted does things right, Call Him First. Great Experience. We woke up Saturday morning with no heat in the downstairs part of our house. I called Ted Monday morning, he came out right away, said there was a bad electrical board (or something like that) on one of the units and gave us an estimate of around $400. We asked him to go ahead and do the service, but the actual replacement board he purchased was quite a bit cheaper than what he was estimating, so he adjusted the cost to me accordingly and charged me a much lower amount of $233. Ted was great from start to finish, the cost way below what I was expecting to pay, and most importantly he got my heat back on quickly so my little kids aren't cold anymore. I plan to use Ted Cook's company anytime I have issues in the future.

They price was great the service was great. I have no complaints at all. He showed up on time and did a very good job.

Back at the end of October my furnace kicked the bucket. I had know for two years that the unit was living on borrowed time. I, of course, had not prepared for this eventuality. The research I did was fairly extensive and I actually met with about 8 service providers (and was without heat for 17 days) before I decided on Ted Cook. Several of the contractors (but not all) told me that I needed new duct work. I was rather sceptical about this feeling that it was a big up sell tactic. Ted has the only one who literally drew me a picture and explained why the ducts need to be replaced. He also explained why it was really in my best interest to replace the 12 year old air conditioner while we were at it. What others said would take 3 days, Ted and his crew did in a day and a half. His guys were friendly, professional and polite. They worked until almost 10:00 PM the first day because they "said we would have heat that night." After it all was done you wouldn't have even know work was done in my back yard. They even painted the exhaust pipe to match my deck color. I believe I received excellent value from Ted Cook Heating Service. I had gotten much higher estimates for lower quality equipment as well as much higher estimates for comparable quality equipment.Ted Cook gets two thumbs up for a job well done......Thanks Ted!

The first cold snap of the season I found that my furnace was not working. I called Ted and he explained that because of the cold weather he was very busy and he would not be able to get to my problem until the next day. He called the next day and came out and found the problem. He had the part that was needed to make the repair with him and within about an hour I had heat. The cost was very reasonable and the work was done right the first time. I would recommend him to anyone that has a problem with there heating or air conditioning system.

Found this company on Angie's list and based on the high ratings, gave them a call. Didn't reach a person and had to leave a message to call back ASAP as my elderly mother-in-law lives with us and we didn't have any heat. After writing an unfavorable report here, Mr. Cook called and said he never received the message we left. To his credit, he was quite apologetic and willing to bend over backwards to improve our opinion of him and his company. Hopefully, if you call your message will be received. He's probably good to work with, but can't say from first hand experience.

He performed the service/inspection of the two systems in one hour. It was a very informative and professional experience. We will continue to us him for all our HVAC needs and would highly recommend him.
