Ted Cook Heating Service

Jeff Henson quickly found the problem in our heat pump was a faulty motor. We were surprised and thankful that the bad motor was covered under the warranty of the unit. Jeff's experience really showed us what can be accomplished as he installed and tested the motor within an hour of his arrival. He did not leave a mess and told us to call anytime we have a problem. I would like to add that I recommended Ted Cook Heating to my mother when her air conditioner went out a few weeks ago. Jeff Henson came out on that call as well and got her air conditioner for the main part of the house running within minutes. Mother also had a problem with a smaller air conditioner that was used to cool her sun room and Jeff found a defective part that he had to order. He actually had to make an extra trip because mom was not a home on one visit, but he came out again shortly thereafter and repaired the air conditioner in minutes. This company has always responded immediately, professionally and they treat their customers with such care. I would not hesitate to recommend this company to my family and friends.

Replaced motor fan in one hour from call - where other service company were going to take a week plus. Got us up and running right on the spot. Decided to replace heat pump. Tony recommended Trane top of line unit - A/C in conjuction with Trane compatible gas furnace. Told me I would be very happy. I AM. He was prompt, professional, his installers were well informed and worked with a high skill level. On top of that Tony's prices have no frills, just what he says, extremely competitive - in fact cannot be beat. If you need A/C or heating replacement or service Tony is your guy.

Our A/C stopped working last night. Called Ted Cook and he had a serviceman out within the hour. Fixed the problem for a very reasonable price. Advised that if things do not get better in 1 -2 days to call them back. The A/C is already working which is great because it's supposed to get into the 90's today and the rest of the week.

I give Mr. Cook an A+ as a businessman. He is courteous, he returns phonecalls promptly, and his crew arrived exactly when he said they would. Our system was up and running by 3 p.m. and his crew made sure that no trash was left behind.

We called Mr. Cook on Tuesday the 11th of August, 2014. We explained our problem, which was a unit that ran continuously but never brought the temperature in the house down to what we had set on the thermostat, which in turn caused very high monthly power bills. After a short discussion on the phone, Mr. Cook said that he could have a man here the next day. And he did, a very knowledgable and courteous gentleman. After a thorough examination of our unit, he called Mr. Cook on his cell to discuss his findings. Mr. Cook then called us personally and explained that the system we had was not adequate for our house. I need to say that this comes after paying $400 to another company (twice, not to mention the other "check-ups" through the years) to tell us that it was a motor and condenser coil problem. Neither of which solved our problem. Mr. Cook told us that he could NOT fix our problem by replacing or repairing anything. Long story short, we bought a unit from him, which he installed three days later. It was installed in one day with a crew of about three people, all of which were extremely courteous and professional. Our house is now set at 72 where it stays!! I can use my oven now after 10 years of only using it in the fall and winter! If we had only known about Mr. Cook ten years ago when we had our old unit put in (thanks for nothing Sears), we could have probably saved $16,000 in repairs and energy costs since then. Thank you Mr. Cook for your integrity and professionalism! We are enjoying our COOL home now!

I called the number for Ted Cook at 11 pm on Friday night, never expecting to reach a real person. Well, Mr. Cook answered on the first ring and assured me he'd take care of my Ac the next day. The helpful and knowledgeable tech did just that and also provided us with some good advice. Why can't everything work this way? I highly recommend this company.

Recently, I noticed that my downstairs AC unit was not cooling efficiently. Due to the cooler weather we'd been having, this issue was inconvenient but not urgent. After finding Ted Cook's Heating service on this website, I emailed the company regarding service because my need was not urgent. I did not receive a reply to my email (which is why I rated "responsiveness" a 'C") , so I called. The gentleman I talked to was very helpful and agreed to come out Thursday morning. He said someone would call me 30 minutes before the appt to let me know the serviceman was on his way. Thursday morning was pouring rain, so I really did not expect anyone to come. About 11:30, I rec'd a call at work that a serviceman was waiting at my house. Apparently, the 30-minute advance call was placed to the wrong number and I never received it. To his credit, the repairman waited almost 25 minutes for me to get home to let him in. The man was quite professional and very quickly determined what the problem was. So apart from the communication issues, I was quite satisfied and would recommend this company to others.

Fantastic! They were quick in responding. They had the part necessary to repair the unit. They had the Air Conditioning going again in less than 4 hours after I called them. Very reasonably priced .... And very nice to deal with.

We purchased our HVAC last year. It worked great this winter. This summer, I called because I just couldn't get the house cool. Ted answered when I called. He made us top priority despite it being a Friday afternoon. He came to our house himself to make sure the unit was working properly and that we were happy. Trane had put out a service bulletin for our unit. He was prepared and brought the fix with him. He was very pleasant and concerned with our satisfaction. It will take 24 hours to see if the fix will work. If it doesn't, Ted has already assured us that Trane will replace the unit. Couldn't bee happier.

Jeff Henson with Ted Cook Heating Service came out and serviced one of our AC units within an hour of calling. He was completely professional, honest and got our AC unit back up and running within minutes. We were so thankful for his timeliness as we had just moved in to our home the same day and needed someone to come out ASAP. Most companies would have charged an arm and a leg, but Jeff explained that TCHS cares about their customers and is not looking to rob people of their money. We will definitely be using TCHS again and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable, professional, honest AC company.

Good communication for timing of service and what was wrong with the unit. Professional and quick.

I called Ted Cook at 7:40 a.m. and he told me that someone would call me 1/2 hour before arriving. Jeff arrived at 10:45 and fixed the problem inside of one hour for a cost of $90. I've paid more than that for a simple service call before, so I was pleased. It turns out that a chipmunk was eating up my wiring! Jeff even suggested some humane ways to eliminate chipmunks so that this problem doesn't recur. I was very pleased with the help I received from Ted Cook Heating and Air.

Came home from Caribbean vacation early January on a Friday to discover our old furnace (which had been seen at least 7 times over the previous year by the previous contractor without resolution of the issues) was not heating the house, with the weather forecast to drop to record lows the following Monday. Not trusting the previous heating / AC guy, I looked on Angie's list to find a contractor with good recs but not one of the larger outfits or franchises. I found Ted and gave him a call on Sat. morning. He returned my call within 30 minutes and I explained my situation. He promised to get to me that day, but it may be later in the afternoon. He called later to update me on his ETA and showed up as expected. His explained why the old unit was no good (burned up heat exchanger with shoddy initial install), that he couldn't get the heat on that day or the next, but promised to do a complete furnace / heat pump install on Monday, when the coldest weather was to hit. He explained the options concerning which units were available to install and the pluses / minuses of each. He e-mailed me a quote that evening which was very reasonable (having made some comparison on new unit costs online), and completed the install as promised, keeping me informed all along the way as needed. His professionalism, work ethic, and follow up were all top notch. He even returned on a Sunday night a couple weeks later to replace a broken igniter. I had called him around 8:00 PM, and he was there around 11:00 do the repair, being considerate enough to not wake me in my bedroom right above where he was working because he new I had an early morning the next day. I subsequently had him do a complete replacement of the ductwork attached to the new unit. Again with good pricing, promptness, and professionalism. Needles to say, I cannot say enough good things about Ted and his staff, and would recommend him to anyone who requires his services. He proved himself from the beginning by taking on a new client on a weekend with bad weather bearing down and providing prompt, top notch service without trying to profit from the potentially difficult situation I was in!

Working with Ted and his people was probably one of the best experiences we have ever had with a service company. First off, they found time between projects to squeeze us in because our AC unit was out. The technician was very professional and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend them for any heating and/or a/c service you need. They are now my people of choice.

Firstly, the unit quit working on a Friday. My home warranty would not get anyone here until Wednesday of the next week (First American). I contacted numerous companies on Angies list, all were very professional but none could come before Tues./Weds. Without charging an emergency fee. Until I got to Ted Cook. He sent someone over within 2 hours !!!! And he repaired the unit for only $30 more than it would have cost using my home warranty. The technician even had to dig out several inches of dirt to remove a panel, and was here for over an hour. They saved the day, as it was over 85 in my house, and outside temps were rising,

Ants had gotten into the unit and messed up the contacts beyond repair. Ted replaced the contacts and got the unit cooling quickly. Since the house was in Taylors and I live in Charleston, Ted agreed to let me send him a check for his services. It was a pleasure doing business with him and I would use him again if I have future problems.

Provider was extremely prompt, giving us same day service. When he arrived, he pretty quickly diagnosed the problems with our air conditioning. He spent a little under an hour doing a simple repair and then testing and verifying the fix. He also some great advice for lengthening the life of our existing equipment along the way. I'm extremely happy with the experience and know who our go-to heating and air serviceperson will be in the future.

He did an excellent job. I had a problem with it because it cut off somehow and I called him. He was actually at the ball game and he called me back. He said that he'd talk me through some things to check it and said that if that didn't work, he would leave the game and come help me but he talked me through it and I fixed on the line. I have no complaints at all. He was wonderful and his work came first obviously. He's very professional and provided what he said he would.

After looking at everything my wife and I decided to go with Mr. Cook's quote. I called Mr. Cook and asked him how soon he could do the installation? He said he would call his installer and call me back. He called me right back and said they could do it the next day. Mr. Cook's crew installed the heat pump the next day just as he had promised. Mr. Cook's quote was exact and he guaranteed me that it would not go above what he has quoted. He was good for word in both the installation and the amount charged. I would not hesitate to use this company again or to recommend this company.

Reported a loud high pitched noise in one system on Sunday evening. They contacted us immediately and got us on the schedule for the next day. Service technician arrived on time, accessed problem and made the repair! We continue to be highly impressed with the service we have received since installing our new systems from them. This was another great experience!

I received a call Monday morning, stating that someone would be out that afternoon around 2:00. The technician arrived promptly, was very quiet and meek but was very thorough. I showed him the inside panel and the outside unit. After thoroughly examining the outside unit for several minutes, he came in and advised a board (or panel or something, I forget which) needed to be replaced. He left to buy the part, returned a few minutes later and replaced the part, then came inside to be sure the unit was working properly (which it was). The entire process took approximately 1 hour, and I am very pleased with the results. I will use Ted Cook Heating Service again when needed.

I have used him before and always been very happy with his work. I originally got his name from a neighbor, who recommended him highly. The first time I called because I thought my heating system had failed, but it was just a simple connection problem, which he fixed easily. I called him back to check out my air conditioner prior to seasonal change, and he was very thorough. His prices are quite reasonable.

Total cost way |under a $100. Will definitely call again, when needed.
