Ted Cook Heating Service

We smelled a burnt plastic aroma and called Ted Cook's Heating Service for assistance. Due to the bad weather/ice storm he was backed up with customers...said he could get out to us the next morning. We decided to shut off our heat, and use two portable heaters throughout the night. The next day, I called Tom at 11:00 a.m. to ask status of his technician's arrival. Thankfully, Jeff was in the area, saw us by 12:30 p.m., and was able to identify and correct the problem immediately. We greatly appreciate Tom and Jeff's assistance and will recommed their service to others.

Service man came out and diagnosed the problem. Replaced the faulty gas valve the next day !

That service turned out just fine. He came out quickly, within a couple of days. He was very professional and did a great job.

This was an absolutely WONDERFUL experience! This afternoon, my son informed me that he had seen a thick layer of icy stuff all around the outside of my unit this morning after I had left - and that he had turned off the unit until he could talk to me. I asked him to research Angie's List for someone to call. Sometime between 3:45 and 4:00 he called and spoke to Mr. Cook. Mr. Cook told my son that he would send somebody over right away. By the time I got home at around 5:15, Mr. Cook's associate, Jeff, had already been there, had diagnosed the problem, which ironically was a less expensive repair than anticipated (a more expensive freon leak was initially suspected) and Jeff was in route to pick up the defrost board part, and would be back soon to complete the repairs with his flashlight in the dark. I didn't even realize that Jeff had gotten back and had already completed the repairs, until the doorbell rang, and he introduced himself to me, and asked if he could turn the unit back on for testing. Everything checked out, and he was done and gone by 6:45! Now, honestly, how many times can you say that you called for ANY kind of service work, and from the first phone call, to the last handshake, only 3 hours transpired?... AMAZING! But, let's get down to even more important stuff: Did I feel as though they were honest, as though they repaired only what they needed to repair, as though they charged me fairly - YES, YES, and YES! Obviously, I don't know if the repair will "stick", it's only been about 30 minutes... but, I can tell you that I have NO HESITATION in recommending Ted Cook Heating Service, and plan on calling them for ALL of my future heating and a/c needs. THANK YOU for taking care of your customers the way you do. It's really a refreshing blessing to deal with a company like this. For today's amazing service, I give Ted Cook Heating Service an A+++

Ordered part needed right away. It came quickly, & he replaced right away. Cost of diagnostic service was applied to labor charges. Did the work fast. Very happy with this service. Highly recommend, and would definitley use again!! Very professional & nice to work with!

This was another great experience with Angie's List providers. This was New Year's Day and Ted and Jeff spent 2 hours at our house and didn't charge us. We were very concerned as we were scheduled to leave on vacation the next day. Ted lives 15 minutes from us and told us not to worry, that he could come check on the downstairs furnace (which was the more critical one) and restart it if necessary since he could access that under the house. He has texted frequently with my husband over the past several days during this cold snap to ensure that everything was going smoothly. Since the propane provider changed the regulator and put the drying agent in the tank, it has been working fine but Ted gave us some suggestions for consideration on heat and cooling options for our house since it is a pretty big structure. Ted's graciousness was simply amazing and so very much appreciated. We are new to the area and the providers we have found from Angie's List and from word of mouth (through Angie's List providers) have been great!

Icame home from a 10 day Christmas vacation at 1am to find a freezing cold house and a broken heater. I called Ted Cook at 8am New Years Eve morning and had a return call within an hour. He had someone out to my house by 11am and the heat was back on by noon. The fix was simple and I was simply charged the $65 which is standard Angies list fee to come out and assess. The technician stayed for over an hour making sure everything was working and when I told him about an existing problem I had had he went back into the crawl space to look at the problem as well. I could not be happier with Ted Cooks Service and will be sure to use them in the future.

Quick response and had the problem fixed in less than an hour. Hung around for a while afterwards to let system cycle on and off several time to ensure it was running OK.

Went well. Arrived when expected on the day we called. Solved the problem. Company that installed the unit is out of business. Will use Ted Cook in the future.

I bought the Angie Deal for Ted Cook Heating particularly due to a heat blower issue. Ted honored the diagnostic test for a simple fix. Ted called a few minutes before his technician Jeff arrived. Jeff wasn't even here longer than 30 mins. We talked a few mins and found out that Jeff helped installed the heating units in the neighborhood 20 years ago! He spoke very highly of Ted and was very knowledgeable on his area of work. He even told me what I needed to do the next time if it happens. I'm looking to do a renovation in the near future and will look at using Ted in the near future! Highly recommended!

i called Ted and explained what had happened with my heat pump to his answering machine. Asked him to call me when he could about setting up an appt. to come check it out. He sent Jeff, his service man, and Jeff fixed the problem the very same day and said that there would be no charge since he was in the area already. I had to insist on paying him anyway and did pay the $65.00 service call fee which I challenge anyone to find a cheaper HVAC business that has that reasonable a service fee. Many I have called were $150.00 to $200.00. Once again Ted over achieved and over performed. If you have any HVAC issue or problem you do yourself a disservice if you don't call Ted Cook to resolve your issues. They are by far the most honest, reasonable, dependable company I have ever had the pleasure of working with. They are A++++++++++++ in every way!!!

Jeff was the provider that came to our house. He was there 2 days after I requested service (this was not an emergency). He was very professional and explained what he found and was doing. We thought we had a problem the next morning with the upstairs blower not running. I called Ted and he immediately sent Jeff out. Of course, it worked fine when Jeff arrived but he was great about it and said to call if it happened again. The price was great and we were extremely pleased with the responsiveness and service. We would definitely call them again!

Outstanding job. On time, very professional. Told us all our options but did not push us for a sale. I would definitely use him again and recommend him to anyone.

If only every service provider was as thorough and courteous as Ted Cook Heating Service. They made time for my issue, were courteous and on time. The technician even took the time to show me the issue and explained to me how to fix it myself. This will be the only company that will touch my Hvac.

Yesterday evening, we discovered that the heat would not work at all. We did some light investigative work to resolve the issue, but were unsuccessful so we spent the night in a very cold house! We opted to call a professional for assistance this morning. My first call today was to the company that installed my heat pump in 2007. The service rep advised that they could not come out until tomorrow afternoon, 3pm at the earliest. Since I did not want to spend another night shivering, I checked out Angie's List and got the name of Ted Cook. I called around 11am and he answered immediately. He advised that he'd do all he could to fit me in today. In about 1 hour, I heard back from Ted that there was a last minute reschedule by another customer so a technician (Jeff) could be at my house in 30-45 minutes! Jeff immediately got to work looking for root cause. He found the issue, went to pickup the part, installed the part and was done in about an hour at a bargain basement rate!! He was very professional and polite throughout the visit. (He even removed the panel, showed me what he had done to fix the issue and told me how I could check it myself in the future should the issue come up again!) In a nutshell, Ted Cook Heating had my heat up and running within 3 hours of my initial call, offering great customer serivce at a great rate!

On a very cold day, we discovered we had no heat. Ted Cook Heating Service responded promptly to this first time customer and had the furnace up and running before noon all for a very fair price. We will continue to use Ted Cook Heating Service for all of our HVAC needs in the future.

When my home warranty service acted as if it were unreasonable for me to want heat on the weekends too, I immediately searched Angies List and saw the wonderful reviews for Ted Cook Heating. The reviews were spot on. After being without heat Friday night, I called Mr. Cook at approximately 9:00 am Saturday morning. He called back ASAP and within 90 minutes Jeff (repairman) was at my house. Both gentlemen were exceptionally nice and we had heat again by noon. Will call them directly from now on and have recommended their service to anyone that will listen!

I cannot say enough good things about Ted Cook. The first cold weekend we had we turned on our heat and quickly realized the downstairs unit was not working. I contacted my home warranty immediately and submitted a claim. A day later and they still didn't have anyone that could come out sooner than Wednesday (claim submitted on Sunday). I looked up companies on Angie's List to just see if i could find someone to come out sooner. I called and spoke with Ted who explained the don't work with AHS but would love to help. I told him I wanted to give AHS one last chance but would get back to him. 5:30 pm and I called AHS back for the 3rd time as they still hadn't found anyone to help. I called Ted who advised he was on his way home but could stop by in 20 minutes. He was there in 15 and fixed the problem in about 30 minutes. Next time i have any issues I won't even bother with AHS, will go straight to Ted as I know he does quality work!

Professional excellent service. I have already recommended them to a coworker.I was very comfortable having them work in my home. Glad I joined Angies List or I wouldn't have found them.

They checked our Freon level at first, once they found we were out of Freon, they didn't have to do anything else. They did provide us with several options to find and fix the problem and advised they would do, fix, advise us, in other words they said "what ever YOU want us to do we will do". They were very friendly and offered options which was great. Either way the options were not cheap but that is what was wrong so we have to decide.

Great experience. Called yesterday to set up a time for my unit and my parent's unit to be serviced before the winter season starts. Jeff was very efficient and explained everything he did at the end of service. He was kind and courteous and Ted Cook's Heating will be our new Heating and Air Company. Also received a discount because I mentioned Angie's List!

Ted addressed issues and resolved completely to our total satisfaction. Plan to contact him in the future when the need arises

This is the second time I have used Ted. The first was in my unit upstairs. He is honest, a great value, and gave me tips on using my AC unit to the best of its capacity economically. I strongly recommend Ted.

Repairman (Jeff) arrived within the hour of my call to Ted Cook Heating Service. Diagnosed problem was the gas company had shut off the gas into my home. Jeff asked me to call the gas company to have a technician come out and turn the gas back on. Jeff waited until the gas company technician arrived and then Jeff inspected the unit was working properly. At the end of the service call Jeff informed me that there was no charge for today's service. I was amazed.
