Ted Cook Heating Service

Wow. I called our usual A/C guy and as usual, it took a couple of calls to get his attention. On the basis of Angie's list reviews, I called Ted Cook and left a message. He returned the call in 5 minutes and was sorry that I'd have to wait until this evening to get someone out. That changed. He had a tech out within 90 minutes who diagnosed the problem, provided a solution, and was gone in less than :45 minutes. The entire bill was $65. Did I mention that this is July in South Carolina? HOT. We are so grateful for the excellence with which this company is run.

HIRE THEM! They are honest, fair, professional and very knowledgeable about what they do! I hired them for the first time yesterday and will never go anywhere else! My A/C gives me trouble every single year and every single year we hire an A/C guy who doesn't know his salt and always overcharges us. After everything was fixed, my husband asked how much should write the check out for, I mean it was Sunday and out of normal business hours but when he said the amount I thought for sure I misheard him. So, I said to him I'm sorry did I hear you correctly?, How much do we owe? And sure enough it's what I heard! I wish all A/C repairmen had their business ethics and integrity, Wow! I'm impressed! We had an issue with the thermostat that malfunctioned. Ted sent someone over right away and was able to diagnose the problem and get it working again.

The service was prompt, professional, and reasonable.

I called Ted at 10PM and he promptly answered and was at my door the next morning at 8AM- couldn't ask for better service. He also thoroughly explained what was needed and had a fair price. Will definitely be using Ted in the future!

I gave many details above. Ted installed our unit earlier that promised. He cleaned up his mess and removed the old unit. He made sure that we understood the system. He recommended that we go online and register for a 10 year warranty, which I did. Ted is very confident that he can help you and walks the walk. This is a hard working man that gets the job done promptly. I have already recommended his work to others.

Had unit back up and running in 30 minutes. replaced damaged parts and cleaned condensate drain.

The owner called. Gave me an estimated time they would out. Repairman called ahead of time to say he was on his way. It only took about 45 minutes to an hour to complete service. Very friendly and edicated me on how to maintain filters and replacement. Real nice guy.

Mr Cook went well beyond the normal service given by previous vendors I have used for HVAC inspections and repair. He was determined that I was 100% satisfied at the least! I would highly recommend Ted Cook to everyone and I myself will use only his services for future HVAC work. Thank You Mr Cook.

It went great. They were right on time to start and they stayed until they got it right. I really appreciate the guys for going the extra mile. When they discovered a problem with the return duct work from my old system, they fixed it even though it wasn't something they had planned on. They didn't charge me anything extra. They just went back, got the extra parts and they fixed it. It is a real blessing to find a business that is fair and shoots straight and does not try to nickle and dime you to death. Ted Cook Heating and Air is great to work with and their folks are top notch.

Went well, I was leaving the city later that day and Mr. Cook personally assured me someone would come out that day even though they were extremely swamped. Their technician came and serviced the unit as promised and all was resolved. I later paid through Paypal and Mr. Cook answered my call again and was extremely courteous and thorough in answering my questions, would definitely use again to replace our A/C unit in a few years or future service needs. Only thing I would suggest is to consider using shoe covers; after checking out the air conditioning unit outside and coming inside to check airflow, a bit of dirt was tracked in, and up the stairs and bedroom.

The repair went smoothly, and the air conditioner is working great again!

Jeff came in for Mr Cook promptly within a day of buying the Deal. He was prompt, quick no fuss-no muss inspection and thorough too. The home inspection guy had left lights on in his attic, which Jeff switched off too. He came back with a detailed explanation as well. Thanks Jeff and Mr. cook. You came through in a pinch and helped us a lot.

The technician was prompt and very friendly. he inspected the unit and found the issue quickly. He made recommendations and resolved the issue quickly.

job site was clean. response time was excellent. all work completed in one day including obtaining new system. project completed with in original cost estimate. This was the third separate project Ted has done for us. each time his prices have been competitive, his response time was excellent and he explained all the options available to us. I highly recommend Ted to my family, friends and neighbors.

I received a call ahead of scheduled appointment time to let me know that the prior appointment was taking longer than expected. I received a follow up call 30 minutes before the technician going to arrive onsite. The technician was professional, helpful, and performed requested work efficiently. I received follow up call from Ted (after hours) to inform me of findings. I found both Ted and the technician to be honest and upfront. Ted Cook Heating Service was excellent to work with and I will not hesitate to call them for future HVAC work.

I contacted Ted Cook at 9:30 PM after discovering that my upstairs air conditioning was not working properly. Ted answered the phone and agreed to have a technician out the following day. At 9:00 AM the following morning, Ted called and was ready to get started. The technician arrived and quickly identified and fixed the problem. The overall experience was fantastic. Ted and his crew are professional, courteous, reasonably priced and responsive. The next time my heating and air system needs service I will certainly call Ted Cook.

Ted Cook was great to work with. I contacted him through Angie's List on a Sunday afternoon, and received a response the same day. Ted called me the next day to solidify a time to come out to perform the tune up maintenance on my AC and Heating units. Ted was very accomodating to my schedule. The technician that came to service my units was prompt, friendly, thorough, and efficient. I appreciate the attentiveness of Ted and his team. I look forward to working with him in the future for my HVAC needs.

I called Ted about 12:30 PM and he said he could have someone there in the next hour! And someone DID show up within the hour! My A/C fan would come on, but no cool air was coming out. My unit is nearly 18 years old, so I was keeping my fingers crossed that I wouldn't have to replace it. But he told me he found a loose wire, hooked it back up, and it's been good to go! I was charged only the basic service charge of $65. I don't have to tell you what an unethical service provider could have come up with to charge me for under these circumstances...anywhere from a new fan, a new compressor, to a whole new unit. My husband had even mentioned that the thermostat might need replacing, and I had passed that information along to him. But he told me my thermostat was fine. So he didn't take advantage of me even though I provided an opening for it. He said that the philosophy of the company is that if you can make your customer happy, you don't have to make all your money in one visit. The satisfied customer will generate more business than a dissatisfied one. Well, Ted can add another satisfied customer to his list, and I CERTAINLY DO RECOMMEND HIM to anyone in the Greenville area!

They were able to find a relay that was sized too small and repaired the relay. The unit does a better job keeping up provided it doesn't get too cold. Probably need to go with a bigger unit. I never did get a response if they checked the freon level or not. I am assuming they did check the freon level. Ted was very knowledgeable and reasonable. Will do business with him when I decide to upgrade my system. Thanks

Tech Jeff explained what he was doing, what he saw and how the units looked based on his experience. Could not get an accurate reading on A/C units freon due to outside temperature, this to be done once temperatures are adequate.

Spoke to Ted Cook on the phone. He tried troubleshooting the problem with me for 25 minutes. Actually had me take the mobile phone into the attic and describe what I was seeing. Checked gas lines, lights on furnace, everything and decided a tech needed to be dispatched. 30 minutes later a tech arrived. Tech went into attic and witnessed the problem; blower turns on, igniter switch glows, then it turns off. Tries this 7-8 times then abandons leaving no heat running. He went to truck and returned with his tools and a "switch". He opened furnace 1 and took out the "switch" in this Lennox furnace. It did not match his switch so he did not use his new switch. He took diligent time and cleaned this old switch and replaced. Once replaced the furnace lit and stayed lit. He repeated this on the 2nd furnace. As it turns out, this switch tells the furnace to keep going or turn off. Mine had a small amount of oxidation which made the furnace think it was never being lit. Tech cleaned them both and heat began running on both. The BEST part of this experience was it only took $65. Thats $65 for the troubleshooting via phone, and once tech arrived. He didnt sell me a new board for the furnace (which I've done in the past); he didnt sell me anything. He fixed the problem! and then asked me to pay for his time. That's the best experience ever! I've since recommended Ted Cook to all of my friends and I will continue to use him when I replace my heating / air system later 2015. Thank you Ted Cook!

Another Heating and A/C company said we needed a new furnace due to an cracked igniter and that it would take days to get a new igniter. I called Ted Cook to get a second opinion. He called me back promptly and gave me a second opinion, this was crucial because it was the coldest night of the winter. After looking at the furnace he found that we didn't need a new system but just a new igniter. He came back later that night, installing it and rather than having a purchase a new furnace we had a much more affordable option. Extremely please with Ted Cook's customer service and integrity, am recommending Ted Cook's Heating and A/C to all my friends.
