Description of Work: Spoke with Ted on Friday to set up an appt. for Monday as my gas pack stopped working. He offered to come out that evening but I told him it wasn't an emergency and we had an upstairs heat pump. Jeff, his service tech, came Mon. as expected and found the problem by testing multiple electrical components. He was very accommodating and explained everything he was checking and why. It was a small problem but he could have told me it was a motor or other major repair and I would have never known. I told him how much I appreciated his & Ted's honesty and integrity in their business. As a courtesy he also showed me what was wrong with my gas fire logs and saved me the expense of another service call. I will be doing business with Ted Cook as long as I have HVAC! What an excellent experience! Highly, highly recommended!!!

Description of Work: replaced heat pump, furnace/airhandler, thermostat and copper in between. | |Ted was extremely punctual, detailed and informed. I could tell he immediately researched my home and estimated the proper sizing of equipment before coming out to confirm. | |During installation, he rejected a unit that was delivered to him because it wasn't the correct unit. He also ran replacement tubing in the walls from the crawl space to the attic | |awesome job.....plan to use him again to replace downstairs with a gas furnace.

Description of Work: Ted and his crew did a great job installing our Trane HVAC system. They hauled off the old unit cleaned up and did all they promised. I got several prices and they were not the rock bottom but had the best product for a very fair price. The unit works great and I would use their services again in the future.

Description of Work: He did a repair for me last year. He was incredibly prompt, so I used him again this year. This year, he provided regular maintenance.

Description of Work: My home air conditioner had stopped cooling. After reading some reviews on Angie's list I called Ted Cook Heating Service. He answered the phone while in transit between customers. I described the problem and he said that he could possibly take a look at it today, but wasn't exactly sure when he would be able to work it in. We arranged it so that he would give me about a 30 minute warning before arriving at my house. This worked perfectly for me. He asked if he could take a look at the outside unit if he arrived before me and I agreed. When I arrived he had taken off the side panel and noticed a capacitor that appeared to be damaged. He showed it to me before taking it out. He had a replacement on his truck and made the repair in just a few minutes. When I turned the thermostat down the AC started right up. He took temperature readings outside the house and inside the house to determine if the unit was working properly. Mr. Cook is obviously very experienced and knowledgeable. He is also very honest and straight forward.. He could have very easily convinced me that I needed more work done and he could have made a lot more money and I would have been none the wiser. He charged me for the part and the few minutes he spent replacing it which I thought was very fair and reasonable. Afterward he spent more of his time sharing his knowledge and helping me plan for and be able to recognize other potential problems that may occur given the age and condition of the equipment.. I will certainly use him again and will recommend him to everyone I have an opportunity to.

Description of Work: He came out the week before and told me what needed to be done.( I had waited to call for a repair on my AC unit because it stopped working Memorial Day weekend and I figured a service call from ANYONE would be too expensive.) He said if I had called, he would have come for no additional charge. Awesome!! I wish I had called. I bought a temorary fix, small window unit to last me till I could call someone. I am glad I chose him. Wish I had sooner, I could have saved the price of the window unit. AS I said he came out immediatly and assesed the problem and waited till I was ready to have it fixed. No long wait for an appointment, he came when it was convenient for me, and did the work to my satisfaction.

Description of Work: My furnace had been on the fritz for a month, so I searched Angie's List to find someone to fix it. I called Ted, and he was here the next morning. He puttered with the furnace for a few minutes and it began putting out heat immediately. His business is family owned, and he is determined to satisfy his customers. There is a senior-citizen discount. I'm extremely pleased!
