Marcio arrived on time to his estimate and asked good questions to help us decide what we were needing/wanting to do. We were moving into a new home and wanted to have the whole interior painted. We had a bit of bump after that, as I received the other 2 estimates and still hadn't received his. I texted him, and he apologized saying it had accidentally been left in his outbox. While the other 2 quotes came via text message, his came via email (which seems more professional to me). I had asked each of the 3 contractors to give a line-item estimate, so we could decide what precisely we wanted to have done. Marcio actually gave a separate price for each piece of each room (trim, ceilings, walls, cabinets, doors) so we could literally have picked any combination of what we wanted to do. However, his price was nearly double each of the others we had received. I emailed him back and said that I had really looked forward to working with him (he was the most personable of the 3 painters who had come out), but his price was much higher and I was going to need to use someone else. He very quickly emailed me back with a discount on the price, and then instantly called me and explained why his price was higher - better paint quality, wouldn't nickel-and-dime me throughout the process, wanted a working relationship, not just another job. I researched the paint quality question by going to Sherwin Williams myself, and then asked Marcio to give me a quote using the and quot;gradeand quot; of paint that fell in between what he had originally quoted and what the others were going to use. He did, which lowered the price a bit. It was still higher than the others, but by now I understood why and was willing to pay the extra. He arrived the afternoon of the house closing to review the details, make sure he had the correct paint colors from my email, etc, and got right to work the following day. We were having some hardwood floors refinished at the same time, and he did a great job and quot;playing with othersand quot;, so to speak. While the floor contractor always sent his crew and was rarely on-site himself, Marcio was more often than not at our home himself overseeing his crew (or working alone). He worked late into the evenings, to work around the floor guys, and to complete the job as quickly as possible so we could move in. Unfortunately, Sherwin Williams mixed our kitchen cabinet color in the wrong base and we didn't catch the error until a few days AFTER they had been painted (it was very close to the requested color, but the gray had too much purple in it so I wasn't sure right away if I had picked a bad color, or if the paint was wrong). At no extra charge to me, Marcio resprayed all of them. He did end up charging me extra for a few things that we added after the original quote: -and gt; He had to strip all my doors and the bathroom cabinets because some genius in the past had painted latex over oil and they were peeling, so he charged me for the labor to strip the old paint off and sand them down. -and gt; I had him remove a recessed medicine cabinet and patch the wall, so there was an extra charge for that. -and gt; He suggested that - while all the door knobs were off - if we wanted to replace them, now would be the time since he had to put them all back on anyway. What he didn't realize was that the nearly 50-year-old doors had smaller-than-current-standard knob/bore holes. But, he quickly devised a way to and quot;retrofitand quot; the doors to make the new knobs I had purchased work out, and charged me a minimal fee per door for the extra labor. -and gt; We failed to measure our fridge to make sure it would fit in our new kitchen - and it didn't, by 1/4and quot;. But Marcio was there wrapping some things up, and he was able to tweak the cabinets to make it fit. His charge was much more reasonable than buying a new fridge! All that said, he threw in a whole-house cleaning by his wife and business partner, Jo, free of charge. She and 1 other gal came for 4+ hours and cleaned every square inch of my 2700 sq foot house. Since the floors had been sanded, there was a fine layer of dust over EVERYTHING, but it was gone when these gals were done. They brought all their own supplies, which I appreciated since mine were still in boxes. They did a GREAT job and I will definitely use them if I need a house cleaning in the future. I'm probably missing something, but the long and short of it is that I really enjoyed working with both Marcio and Jo and will certainly be using them in the future. Even my 2-year-old asks when and quot;Mr. Marcioand quot; is coming back, so he's a family favorite!

It went well. Marcio has a good personality and is nice to work with. He was responsive to our requests, did a good job in a timely manner, and the house looks pretty.
