They came out and guide me what I consider a fair price and extremely professional. Their fee was a little bit more, it was $8800 but the deal was if we decided they came out, they were gonna replace all the four decking, railings and posts. It was a much more job. It also included pressure washing and painting. They broke it down where the decking, posts, railings and lattice was gonna be for $6600. They are professional and responsive.

The called me back the next day and came the next day and gave me an estimate. They setup a date, but I had to change it and I did so without any difficulty. We agreed on a day and they can . The whole process took 2hrs. They were very and pleasant and skillful in their task. I am VERY please. I am planning on calling the company again to schedule other projects, as they are a multi-talented group of skilled people.

No response after first email. He had to much work to respond to my emails.

I purchased the deal for 6 hours of handyman service for 250 bucks. Its a good deal for me as I don't have a lot of time to complete these things myself due to business travel. During the process of inquiring about the type of work that could be done, the provider was very responsive. After purchasing the deal, I heard back right away with a scheduled date and the handyman, Lance, showed up on time (early even) and completed all the work with little direction needed. He even did some minor plumbing repairs with some extra parts he had on hand. I definitely recommend the Improvement Company and Lance particularly and will be using them again.

It was great. Lance is a true professional. He is honest and reliable and knows how to do anything and everything!

They came out as promised even though I was not able to meet with them, and measured the roof, and gave me a fair price, for installing a metal roof in place of the shingle roof. We are planning to meet with "The Improvement Co.next week to make a deposit

My experience was very good. He showed up on time and worked hard. He did a great job replacing rotted wood around windows, garage doors and porch railings. I was very pleased with the service.

Great experience with this company. They were prompt in getting someone out to give an estimate and the work began when scheduled. The men doing the job were meticulous, courteous, and reliable. They did a few small things extra that they pointed out needed to be done, and I expected to be charged more, but the price didn't change. I have already told them we will need them for renovations in a few months!

Clint Knight represented their company in a very professional manner in all our contacts with him. He and his crew were always prompt, courteous and answered any questions we had about their work and the repairs they made to the previous contractor's work. I believe their price was very fair and their workmanship exceptional. In fact, they installed gutters on our daughter's house and did an excellent job. We highly recommend this company and Clint and his crew. We hope to use them again for future projects.

My old house had a deteriorating back door, but it was an odd size. I purchased a special order door to fit. It came raw wood and unbored. I needed to have it installed. I emailed Dan to ask about an estimate. He called almost immediately. I emailed photos of the door. He gave me an estimate over the phone -- and he said that because of a glitch in their schedule, they could be at my house in 90 minutes to do what was expected to be a half day job. I jumped at the chance to have the job done so soon. They arrived about 12:30 pm and left at 5:30 pm. When they left, the door had been installed, and it had a working dead bolt. But because of a balky drill, they had been unable to bore for the door knob. Because they had just worked me into their existing schedule, they weren't able to return until the next week to bore and install the door knob. They showed up bright and early the next week to do that work, but the priming and painting still had to be done. Then the arctic weather hit, rain, snow, etc. The placement of the door leaves it no protection from weather. They did come before the bulk of the precip and staple a plastic drop cloth frame to frame over the door. That protected the raw wood, but left me without a functional door. A combination of almost continuous weather and their pre-existing schedule left me with that tarped door for about 10 days. But the weather cleared, the painter arrived to prime one day and paint the next. All in all, a nicely done job. I don't think it would have taken so long if the weather had not conspired against us. But I learned the down side of getting squeezed into an existing schedule. If something unforeseen happens, you don't have the priority of a regularly scheduled job. Still, all the workers were competent and friendly and apologetic of the delays. I can't hold the weather against them. I plan to use this company again -- but I will make sure to get on the schedule!

We needed a couple of things done around the house and decided to purchase the "Handyman for a day" coupon, which entitled us to 6 hours of work for a discounted fee. We had a fairly new attic staircase put in a few years ago, but the 'feet' weren't installed because the installer didn't have a metal cutting blade at the time. So the handyman from The Improvement Company tackled that first. We have small children in the house, so he was mindful of small shards of aluminum getting into our hallway carpeting and made sure there was an abundance of drop-cloth down on the floor before he started. The work was quick, because he had the ladder cut to the proper length, the feet installed and the dropcloths pulled up in less than 30 minutes.Next was a much bigger project, which was to have him cut and install treated framing and lattice under our deck. We'd recently rehabbed sections of the deck and added on to it in one section, but didn't include underpinning as part of that job. So when the deck expansion was completed it was fully exposed underneath. We had already purchased the materials necessary to get most of the work done, so the handyman was able to begin immediately. Using some new treated lumber left over from the expansion, as well as some usable scraps of treated wood left over from the prior deck demo, he was able to frame out all of the areas underneath the deck. He ran out of lattice before the last two sections could be covered, but that was a shortcoming on my part for not properly estimating the amount that would be needed. The areas that he was able to complete look great! He had taken into account the slope of the land around the deck as he was measuring out where the panels would go, and custom cut the lattice to match the particular slope for each opening. He ran out of lattice with about 10 minutes to spare on the 6 hour window, and he used that time to clean up after himself. When he left, we had well-installed and good-looking lattice underpinning along most of our deck and there wasn't any scrap wood or litter left scattered anywhere in our back yard. We highly recommend this company to anyone who needs any sort of work done around the house.

A near perfect construction job with professional contracting management and excellent subcontractors. Flexible regarding changes.

It was good. The guy that came out was good. He’s honest and went to work right away. He was even a little bit early. He just worked straight through and worked really hard. I did have to pay for the material. The door might have been a couple hundred dollars and the columns were around $90.

Lance installed a new over-the-oven microwave for me. He was excessively careful and meticulous. He cleaned as he worked, and he was very patient. I would highly recommend this company. It did not take him the full six hours, so he called (and I called) to get credit for the additional time for later work. I am very pleased and would not hesitate to use the company again.

Excellent work. Damaged a few shingles on front of home but repared the area; no questions asked. All communications went well. Eager to please.

I did contact the company once and they were very nice and responsive. While waiting for them to contact me for their availability, I found a family member to do the work they were to be hired for. I had NO issues with this provider at all and no work had been scheduled or completed when I requested refund.

Job was completed in two phases. Initial install was done on bench seat and bookshelves. The top of the bookshelves were not done to builders satisfaction or fit properly. Had to take back to business and redo. Took 4 to 5 more weeks before job was completed. Also had to wait on doors to be installed on window seat. Builder ordered them from a door maker and it took them 4 to 5 weeks to get them in. After everything came in and was reworked the unit looks great. Jake did an outstanding job from start to finish. As jake was putting together the window seat and book shelves, the person he brought with him, was working building in the exteior wall and repairing the sheetrock. Everything was done to my satisfaction and they cleaned up the job site. I will have Jake back out to build more book shelves. Overall, I would give this job an A!

Lance Marshall did a good job. He's a very nice kind gentleman with professional knowledge and skills. I'm glad to do business with your company, and I will definitely ask Lance to help in the future.

Great! Lance completed my list with time to spare. He knew what he was doing--even corrected problems left by former workmen. Installed new ceiling fan, installed new shower head, replaced light switches and electrical outlets; repaired light fixture which had never worked; installed new washer hoses; installed new light fixture in kitchen; installed new motion-sensitive flood light outside; replaced two outside faucet handles; kitchen cabinets needed repairs--fixed properly in no time. Electrical breaker box - replaced two blank spaces left by Gene Love company (would not meet code). Had good advice for future work. Will definitely call them again and have already passed their phone number to a friend. [Of course I supplied all of the equipment...new fan, new light fixture, new hoses, but I was so happy to get all those "little jobs" done that can drive you crazy! ] Great special, Angie's List!!!

Needed estimate on some work. Came on time. Very brief visit, but fair estimate proprosed.

Thought I was getting one handyman for eight hours; instead, got one handyman and his helper for four hours. I was satisfied for the most part, but there were times when the helper stood around without anything to do. For instance, when the handyman was working on the caulking job, his helper stood around waiting to be told what to do. I suggested that perhaps the helper could go start the caulk work in another bathroom, but was told he could not do that because he was there to assist him and besides they only had one caulk gun. Also, a little word of advice if you plan to hire a handyman to assemble and install something (in my case a shower curtain rod and wall mount with tv), take items out of the box and pre-assemble them as much as you are able before the handyman arrives. I say this because the men had to spend time reading and re-reading instructions on how to assemble and install the items, which was not time well spent, particularly when I could have done that part myself. It is best to prioritize your projects because inevitably they won't have enough time to complete everything on your list in the amount of time you have them. Again, I was satisfied with their work and would hire this company again, but would make sure on the front end what I was paying for (e.g., 1 handyman for 8 hours vs. 2 handymen for 4 hours). They were courteous and the did a great job cleaning up after themselves.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service. Two people came out and it took them five minutes to clean out the gutters. They were in and out of here before I even had a chance to see them. I just saw them running across the roof so I guess they did everything. They never really talked to me, so that was kind of weird. They were very fast and they may be very thorough, but they did not tell me when they were through. I just happened to see them drive up or I probably would not have known they were there. They got here at a good time, but they just rushed in and rushed out. I don't know if they did a good job.

It was a time consuming job we have tall ceilings in our bedrooms, but all were installed correctly and we have not had any issues with operation of them at all.
