8 days later I tried to contact him (1/29/16) and he said he was to busy to talk and would call back, he did not. On 2/1/16 I sent an e-mail asking if he had made any progress and did he receive the insurance report. He replied and said he did and would get back to us the next week. Here it is 2/11/16 and we have not heard back and when I tried calling the office number it says the voicemail box is full. I will no longer attempt to contact this firm and would not recommend them.

Punctual, professional service, good quality work

These home improvements were scheduled over the course of eleven months. Some tasks took considerably longer than the projected time frame. Some delays were weather- related. Others were related to my schedule. And some were simply that all houses are different and mine had some idiosyncrasies that needed workarounds. I have been very pleased with the quality of the final product in every case. Any issue that I found along the way, during construction or months after, was addressed immediately and at no additional cost to me.

Everything went really well. everyone was professional and courteous. The job looks great!

This provider is one of the top three on the roofing list. I read all the information and decided to call to inquire about a roof repair. I was told that they (The Improvement Co) only repair roofs they have installed. I think that is an important piece of information and should be listed on their front page. I felt miss lead and it made me wonder if they are one of the top roofers, why would they need to repair their own work? If they have so much work that they don't need to do repairs, that's OK too but, say that.

Had the list ready - ranking order. Went from one task to the other, no breaks. Finished in time.

Very friendly and fast. One of the only companies that returned my call within 24 hours. Best price and good quality work. The only complaint is the workers left cigarette butts all over my yard.

*BAD experience!* 3 hours late for a scheduled appointment! Not even a simple phone call from them to advise that they were running late. Two very unprofessional-looking young guys eventually rolled up to the front door 3 hours late with no manners, no apologies, only a bunch of lame ignorant excuses. One of them said: "This ain't on us. It's our manager's fault." The owner of The Improvement Company ought to do some IMPROVEMENT of his own and discharge the jokers he has currently representing him; they are giving The Improvement Company a really *BAD* reputation. He showed up on time, and after a quick review of the things to do, got right to work. Everything came out just fine. He was able to repair a window we had previously thought to be unrepairable which was an extra bonus. I highly recommend him

We had a great experience and would recommend them to others who need work done around the house. Daniel called within three days after we bought the handyman services - six hours for $349. We set up an appointment for two weeks later. He called the night before and came over on time the next day. He installed 17 mixed mosaic 12x12 tiles. That sounds easy but he had to cut the tiles into multiple sizes to fit around our kitchen. Once he installed the tiles, he left them overnight and then came back this morning to do the grout. He had to mix the grout, which he did outside so that he wouldn't make our house messy. I thought that was great!. While he was grouting, he was so quiet that I had to check a couple of times to see if he'd stepped outside. He was polite, courteous, friendly and did a great job. We would definitely hire him again. Thanks for the great work!!

Contractor came out and took all measurement. Built the cabinets in his shop. Came out a week or so later and installed them. One part of the cabinets did not fit because of the angle of my ceiling. He took it back to make adjustments. Said he would be back out after the doors he order for the bench seat came in to finish the cabinet and too install the bench seat doors. It took about two to three weeks to get the final job completed. He did an outstanding job. was very pleased overall. just wished it could have been completed with in a week. I would definitely use this contractor again.Overall it took 5 to 6 weeks to complete.

He wasn't used to the type of faucets and he had to run back and forth to a retail store to get pieces and parts. It turned out I had a piece that would work the way he needed it to all along. So he spent his 2 hours going back and forth to home depot, so I basically only had one person for 2 hours. The other bad part was his partner couldn't do much for me because every time the first guy went back to home depot he carrying all the equipment that the second guy needed to do work for me so I didn't get a full 2 hours of work at all. My overall experience wasn't that great. It just boggled my mind that the guy with the equipment didn't take the second guy's truck so the second guy wouldn't have the tools to work with and the fact that he was unfamiliar with the particular faucet that I had purchased caused all sorts of delays because of having to go back and forth to a store. I considered it a good deal, it just didn't work out the way it should have. The second guy did some caulking outside but he wasn't as neat as I had hoped.

This was the best company that I have found on Angie's List to date--especially for the Angie Deal I got. Daniel came out on the date/time agreed and went over and above in the 6 hours that he was contracted for. I had to find a couple extra jobs for him to fill in the time. All projects he completed were done promptly and in the highest quality that I could have asked for. Rotten wood from rain runoff on the exterior and interior was replaced, dryer vent was secured under the house, porcelain floor tile replaced in kitchen, door bell tested for voltage, etc... Absolutely impressed with the professionalism and quality of the repairs. I will definitely call The Improvement Co. back for more work (but will definitely ask for Daniel)!

Overall, the experience was good. Jim, the handyman, really know his stuff and proved to be an extremely honest and straightforward professional. Also, the Improvement Company offers pretty fair prices. They are responsive and are easy to deal with as well.

They are an excellent company. The people that they have working for them call and tell me when they are coming. If they are going to be late, they call and tell me that. They show up when they are going to show up and they do good work. I think the price was fair.

Provider indicated that since it was the holidays, his representative would be out of town. That was OK--The owner of the company would take our account. The owner of the company contacted us and set up a quasi-meeting which was OK but the "meeting" never took place. We have since never heard from the provider. That's OK, too. Since I'm an "Old Fart" who is not in the practice of chasing after a vendor in order to hand him my money, I'm willing to look for someone who's a bit more responsible. Also, being an "Old Fart", I already know how to perform the functions the provider wishes to provide--I'll just have to do them myself. But that's also OK!

All went very well. Obviously, I would not have had a second job done with the company. Contacts were made, dates conveniently set, work was meticulously done, and the prices were very reasonable.

They did an excellent job overall, as well as on the many minor projects that comprised the overall renovation. I would highly recommend them to others. We couldn't be happier with the results and the quality of the workmanship. They went out of their way to help minimize the inconveniences of construction interruptions and accommodated our schedule. We felt comfortable with everyone who came into our home and their professionalism. They proved to be extremely trustworthy in protecting our personal possessions from damage and reliable in scheduling the work. Their experience and wise counsel helped direct us to better decision making; and when they made an error, they owned it and corrected it - none of the typical "contractor BS" from these guys, just the honest truth and fair treatment. And, more importantly, they treated every job, from the biggest to the smallest with equal importance. They completed punch lists and honored their commitments. As impressed as we were with the professionalism of the workers and the reliability of the promises made, we were amazed at the accomplishments of the craftsmen. Yes. CRAFTSMEN. The carpenters are magicians; the electrician has 30+ years' experience and teaches electrical work at Mid-land's tech. The roofer - amazing (and fast). The gutter team - amazing (and fast). It is about as good a group of fine tradesmen as you'll find in the midlands. And, for as much as they know how to do . . . they listen to what you want them to do, and work to make you happy. I was recommended to Dan and the Improvement Company quite by a happy accident. When I was getting a quote to replace a broken window I asked if the vendor knew of any good general contractors she could recommend. Her response was: "YES! I know just the guy!" She went on to tell how her home contractor went out of business, and that Dan had come in to rescue the project and save the day. I echo that same sentiment when I tell you that Dan and his team came to the rescue for our old house and transformed our home. We are so proud to share the results with neighbors and friends because the quality of the workmanship is so excellent! In conclusion, I would like to mention the fairness of the pricing. A lot of general contractors are disengaged, juggling sub-contractors on a schedule and collecting as much as a 40% markup on the work. Dan is different. He is hands on and engaged, answers his phone or email messages and is responsive. And, his prices are significantly less than others when comparing prices. So, for a fair price you get treated with respect and you get a quality job. What more could you want. Imagine my joy when tallying up the cost on the myriad of projects in our renovation and discovering my savings from the original bids. And, the billing mechanics are also fair. I never had an error that had to be argued. It was always exactly what the estimate had projected. That's what you get when you're dealing with someone who is fair. We are THRILLED and know you will be too! Give these guys a call!

He was booked for the next 6 weeks and I need someone here before he could come so we got a refund processed.

Company not hired, no response.

I contacted Mr.Dan Osterhaus of The Improvement Company in July 2014. He was very cordial, friendly and professional. I asked if he could look at a large room that was very warm in summer and cold in winter. He came out the next day and said he would send out his a/c man to check it out. The young man came out, measured everything (again he was professional, friendly and cordial). Mr. Osterhaus called me back with a quote and we arranged a time for him to come out and do the work. The room is so-o-o much cooler and I am sure it will be warmer in the winter time. Quality work!! Cost - $778.36 At the beginning of August 2014, I contacted Mr. Osterhaus again asking for a cat door to be put into the wall that leads out to the screen porch. He came over and looked at it and sent the right person for the job. I received a quote before he did any work and was very pleased with the addition of the cat door. Another great job!! Cost - $417.39. This price included taking out a temporary cat door from the slider door and reattaching the original lock. At the end of August 2014, I called Mr. Osterhaus again to install a ceiling fan, kitchen light, 2 bathroom vanity lights and a side garage door light. All of this was done in a timely manner and very professionally as well. So that makes 3 jobs well done. At this time I have not received the invoice, but he estimated around $300.00 I will continue to call him as he is trustworthy, efficient and the price has always been right. Dan Osterhaus was a pleasure to work with. He was always punctual or called prior to the appointment time if he was going to be unavoidably delayed. The crew who did the work was wonderful and also a pleasure to work with. I very much appreciated that during the entire 6 days they were working on my home, I never heard a fowl word. They answered all of my questions and went above and beyond on a couple of my concerns. I contacted two other people to get a quote on the work I needed done. Neither of the other two kept their appointments and one didn't ever call to let me know why he didn't show and did not return my call inquiring what happened. The second one did call me a week after the original appointment to let me know he hadn't forgotten about me. Now, five weeks later and he still hasn't shown up. I would without question recommend The Improvement Company and have done so with several friends who are considering vinyl siding. I will also use The Improvement Company if I have any other projects around my home that need doing.

The Improvement Company went above and beyond in honoring a special deal for 6 hours handyman service for $249, even though it was advertised at the wrong price. Very professional and reliable company with integrity! A different person also came and gave me a quote for an outside repair, although I haven't made that repair yet. I intend to use the Improvement Company when I'm ready to that repair as well. Definitely recommend this company.

They came out and guide me what I consider a fair price and extremely professional. Their fee was a little bit more, it was $8800 but the deal was if we decided they came out, they were gonna replace all the four decking, railings and posts. It was a much more job. It also included pressure washing and painting. They broke it down where the decking, posts, railings and lattice was gonna be for $6600. They are professional and responsive.
