 + -1 moreTeh provided an estimate and met with me again to talk about some specific details i wanted for out\r down spout locations. The gutters they installed look great. they actually look like a piece of trim instead of gutters. They placed the down spouts where i wanted on one side and i am waiting on them to return to correct the location of the other down spout in the front of my house. I would have given them an "A" on responsiveness but i've made two calls to have the guys return with out a return call. Otherwise, Clint was great to work with and the finished product looks great.
Description of Work: We hired the Improvement Company to replace our existing gutters.

 + -1 moreThe estimate was $7585 for the job. They were polite, on time and good. The price didn’t impress me much, but everything that was written down about the job was good. I couldn’t afford that price. They didn’t itemize the estimate, so that I could see what I could afford and what not.

 + -1 moreBrian Skelly came by and gave us the initial estimate. He was very courteous and professional. We liked him immediately. He returned a second time with shingle samples but there was no pressure to choose a higher quality shingle (even though I did since the price difference was minimal). We signed the agreement and awaited the workers. They arrived on time and did a great job. My small (very small) complaint is that I found over a hundred roofing nails in my grass and along the driveway. The ones in the grass weren't so bad but the ones in the driveway could have caused serious problems to our vehicles. Nonetheless, I would definitely use them again. It should be noted that price is often times the highest consideration examined. I am very pleased to say that their price beat several competitors by $400 or more and I received a quality product (30 year shingles) with quality workmanship during the installation process.

 + -1 moreBrian Skelly was great to work with. His price estimate easily beat the competition hands down. I admit that I was a bit skeptical at first that I would be getting quality parts and workmanship but I was pleasantly surprised. The installers were great and managed to work around where the power line attached to the house. My only small complaint was that I called to have them move one downspout (actually, to have it angled in a different direction). It took them at least two weeks to return to do it. I'll admit, cost was my main consideration. However, for the cost, I received the same seamless gutters as the competitors plus I saved 20%. I would DEFINITELY recommend using them.

 + 0 moreI sent an email with photos of the damaged areas and asked for an estimate. The same morning Dan Osterhaus received the email while he was in our area and called to inspect the damage. He came by that day and called me back with the estimate of $335 on Friday and said he could probably work us in the following week, but he would call Monday or Tuesday to let me know exactly when. He called early Monday morning with an unexpected opening and he and his crew arrived promptly and got right to work. They all were professionals and very friendly. Dan is a gentleman and a family man who listens patiently to the customer. I was very pleased with how the job was finished when he said it would, even after I asked for "one more little thing" that I thought of at the last minute. Everything went smoothly and they cleaned up before they left. This is a top-notch outfit and I am planning to call on them for some gutter work later. I was so excited to have found them, thanks to Angie's List. We had needed most of these repairs for a couple of years but everyone I contacted didn't want to bother with such a minor job. They all wanted only big jobs, like putting siding on a whole house, etc. These folks don't mind the small jobs, but they are trained and equipped for the big ones, too. AAA rating from me.
Description of Work: We needed vinyl siding and metal trim replacement from wind damage a couple of weeks ago and some old repairs we couldn't get anyone else to take. All but one of the damaged sections were too high up for me to attempt. The two sections of vinyl had holes in them and the metal had been torn off and ruined. We also had a long section of metal that the original nails had pulled out and was pulling away from the house allowing water to get in. I had some metal left over from when the house was constructed and they were able to use it, so that was a help I am sure.

Description of Work: The Improvement Co. did a great job installing new gutters on my two story house. They put in the gutters, drain pipes, and various redirects on the front and back of my house. I got two estimates and they were the cheapest by @$200. They also replaced some rotten wood flooring and a back patio door. I was very happy with their work. There was a small problem with the replacement door being wrong but they fixed it the next day without blinking an eye. They never made me feel like a was anything less than an important customer. I would definitely use them again for any home repair related project.

 + 2 moreTheir work was great, and they put top of the line seamless gutters and leaf gaurd on our home for one of the best prices. They also suggested a few better ideas than what we originally wanted for no upcharge. Top notch, would recommend them again.

Brian Skelly (sales manager) showed up on time, listened to my needs, made suggestions (not to sell me more, but of things I didn't need - such as gutters in certain areas!), and gave me an estimate based on drawings he made and measurements. I knew they had a good reputation so agreed then and there. We set a date, the crew showed up on time, were courteous, did excellent work, and left everything spotless when they left. Dana (hope I spelled it correctly) and his sons should be commended for the excellent craftsmanship with siding and gutter work! I am overall very pleased. It is possible that I could have found a cheaper company, but I have been that route before and I believe you get what you pay for! I hope to use them in the future for other projects.
Description of Work: 1. Added new gutters around house where none existed previously 2. Added diverter over electrical wires on back of house 3. Replaced rotten wood, added wood in areas that needed to be built out from the house 4. Replaced siding around eves of house (brick home) 5. Repaired siding that had loosened 6. Description of Work: The Improvement Co.removed the first three courses of shingles from the entire length of the house, replaced the wood that was damaged, then replaced the removed shingles with new ones. All of the material needed to do the repair was furnished to The Improvement Co. and the clean up was done by myself which was something that I said I would do prior to the quote being figured.

 + 2 moreNo work was ever done or seen by anyone from the company I cant recommend them. I had intial dialog and it ended not going anywhere they need better staffing, and managment. I cant say anything about there quality,but the way they do business could be alot better. Bad customer service equals the end of buisness,Reputation is everything....... I wouldnt recommend them after my experience the second time, offering them a chance at doing the work, maybe on the first experience they were quick with the gutter quote and the saleman seemed okay, nothing on remodeling I did have a guy who is no longer there come out but no quote was ever given. The handyman service nothing that fell on deaf ears,nothing was ever done on the home by the improvement company. I would just offer them a good luck on there future buisness, it just wouldn't be me.
Description of Work: This is my wifes account I use it to get work done .. As the man of the home I'm left dealing with this type of BS and this is my account of what does & doesnt't happen . I had request approx 1 year ago for gutters to be installed on new home , bath remodel and other handyman jobs that I either can not do or have not the equipment for at this time...They intially { Improvement Co}. a year ago were very quick to come out and give quote on gutters right then and there. which was great. The salesman was very kind and had no problems with. I in the end choose a vendor that was connected with the builder,which is not always the way to go unless your builder is a good one. Mine was not. After the first set of gutters & downspout work NOT THE IMPROVMENT CO. was done I still had some installations that still needed addresses extra downspout and gutter hangers that needed to take up some sagging gutters. Tha same company that installed the original { Not the Improvement Co } . came out with other help not trained and really created a mess and alot of damage, not this company Improvement but another group. They didnt have the nessassary staff that was trained to basically start from scratch with the wood facia and aluminum wrap prior to gutters, so I was taking estimates which the company that screwed up the original work was compensating me for plus damages . I had to be fair and give them 3 estimates which the Improvement company was told, email,phone,pictures. they were intially hard to get a hold of the second time . I sent emails,photos, phone calls they did call back but left me hanging all day Fridat 8-5-11 with no more dialog other than we will be out between 11:00am and when ever,I called at 2:00pm and said whats happening they said that the saleman would be out .I told them forget it. I did get a couple of other quotes and will be hiring them for the work . Other companies in the same line of work have already Monday 8- 8-11 are fixing things,have fixed things or are in the middle of getting my stuff taken care of. The original company is in the process of issuing me a refund that we could agree to.There are a few good people left. Moral to the story if you never get an intial call back, this will tell you that you may not want them anyway regardless of not knowing what kind of work they could eventually provide for you actions or lack of actions are real good indicators . never call them back period, Play the lottery just start calling about 20 companies you may find 3 good ones that will address your concerns in a professinal manner, I gave IMPROVEMENT COMPANY WAY TO MANY CHANCES. They should of just told me that they were not interested in giving a quote, would of been suffient and I would of said fine,I dont thing stringing people along is the way to be or

Description of Work: The professionals involved (contracted) by this company, replaced my roof, installed a new sky light, fixed a problem with a stack pipe. Also, I contracted with the same company to fix, caulk and repair all wood trim, siding and chiminy; they also painted.

I was then told I would be called to have the work rescheduled but never heard anything back, so I gave up. I just went with another company. I was disappointed that my time was wasted when I could have dealt with a company that would keep its commitment. And all of this happened even after I told them I found them on Angie's list.

 + 3 moreWe had a dormer with siding that had rotted out that we had tried for years to get replaced (too small a job for many contractors). We also had damaged wood around numerous windows, garage, and front door, apparently from not being properly sealed to the stucco when the house was built. The porch leaked because the drainage system off the roof was improperly built. The Improvement Company gave us a quick estimate, breaking down the cost of the various repairs. They answered our questions. Everything went smoothly except that the damage to the front door was more extensive than they had thought, so repair there involved removing the door entirely and drove cost somewhat over the estimate. All work was painted, and they even painted windows on the front of the house that they hadn't repaired so that everything would look similar. They were courteous and helpful throughout the process. We are very pleased with the repairs and would use the company again.

 + -1 moreIt was a waste of my time. I do not know how this company is listed at the top for recommended roofing contractors.
Description of Work: I reviewed all the roofing companies in my area, and The Improvement Company was at the top with good reviews on price and service so I made the call to see about having my roof repaired. I had shingles that had blown off in a storm and I needed them put back and the roof inspected for other looose or damaged shingles. When I called in the morning I got an answering machine so I left a messsage with my name and number and my need and that I had found them on Angies List and asked for a return call. By 4:30 that afternoon I received no call back so I called the company again and left another message referencing my AM call and asking for a call back leaving my number a second time. My call was not returned. About 11am on the next day I called again (my 3rd call) and this time someone answered. They admitted they gotten my calls, but claimed that my phone number was "cut off". I cannot imagine a company having a defective answering system, but even so - it got cut off both times I called??? That is hard to believe. Also he did get part of my message based on what he said about knowing I had found him on Angies List and about my having spare shingles. He took down my information and assured me that his roof repair man would call me "right back". It has been almost 3 hours and no one has called me back. Now I have gotten someone else to repair my roof as this company is clearly not interested in helping me. Maybe they only want big full roof jobs, but you can bet when I need a full roof I will not be calling on them. If you have a roof repair don't waste your time with this company. I am not hard to deal with as evidenced by my three calls to enlist the services of this contractor. I hate leaving a bad report but this guy knew I was Angies List and blew me off. I did get a call from the owner after I had submitted this report. He apologized greatly over what had happened and told me he would correct the problem. He was very nice. I told him I would add this to my report as I see the follow up on a bad experience a very good thing for a company to do.

They finished the job well and they followed up after finishing their work. This was the second time they have worked for me. He did a wall siding twelve years ago.

 + -1 moreThey did an excellent job. The man came with two estimates and two samples of the gutters. We decided to go with the more expensive one because they seemed better. He explained everything to us. They weren't that terribly much more but they were worth it. Whenever we told them to come to the house, they were there on time and this time it was a different crew. I guess they have an estimator and then they have a crew that comes out to do the job. They were just as polite as they could be and did the work in one day. They just did a wonderful job. They cleaned up after themselves. We've couldn't have asked for anybody better. It's all working well. The man who came to give us the estimate was just nice as he could be. I surely would call them if I needed anything done on our house. I've always had good luck on Angie's list.
