I gave Tony the following review for a job he did for me several years ago. Yesterday he finished a second job for me and my previous review still stands. Without doubt, Tony is the best contractor I’ve ever worked with. He is a high energy guy who pays attention to detail and does outstanding work for a reasonable price. I couldn’t be more pleased with the job he did for us. Standridge Masonry & Repair has my highest recommendation.

Tony Standridge and his crew did an outstanding job to transform our back yard into a beautiful oasis. He was very professional, conscientious, punctual and reasonably priced and far exceed all my expectations. Tony's crew built a stacked stone wood burning outdoor fireplace, retainer wall and stone paver patio that sits under an Arbor swing. They also resurfaced our stamped concrete patio. This was no easy task because the only way to get to this area of the backyard was to carry all the material from the front yard to the back and down a set of steps. They ended up removing a railing and built a scaffold to get the material from the upper level of the yard to the lower level. Tony made sure his crew had all the material they needed to get the job done and he was constantly there to oversee the job and made sure everything was done top notch. And it was. Of all the renovations we have done to our house over the years, this one has been the most rewarding and the one I will enjoy the most.
Description of Work: Resurfaced stamped patio, repaired brick wall that had separated from column, built outdoor wood burning fireplace, retainer wall and 4x6 stone paved patio.

My husband and I cannot say enough good things about Tony Standridge! He was personable, professional, and prompt. He explained what he planned to do and provided even more information that what we needed along the way. This work was in conjunction with an insurance claim, and Tony went above and beyond in dealing with our claims adjustor. We highly recommend this company!

Tony did a great job building our brick mailbox and repairing our front steps. He responded promptly to our inquiry and brought samples that he thought would complement our 32 year old house. The mailbox is beautiful and looks like it has always been there. The brick he recommended is perfect and we are very happy with the quality of the work. Our front steps had gaps in the mortar after years of wear. Tony repaired them so water no longer gets in the cracks between the bricks. We are very happy with the appearance of the steps and Tony’s attention to detail. We highly recommend Standridge Masonry & Repair and would definitely use them again.

Excellent job done by Tony and his team. Tony called me back quickly and came out to provide a quote. Once the quote was accepted Tony and his team had the entire project finished in two days. The first day the old driveway was torn up and removed. Then, the fill dirt was brought in and packed down. It took 5 tons of fill dirt. On day two the concrete was delivered and poured. Tony and his team are very professional and courteous. Tony is very concerned about the quality of his work and his team's work. They are also concerned about leaving the job very clean (all debris was removed as the job progressed ). I would definitely use Tony and his team again and have already recommended him to my co-workers and friends. Great experience. Extremely pleased with my new driveway!
Description of Work: The majority of my residential concrete driveway (52 feet long sloped downward) needed to be replaced. Three large sections had broken off on the side of the driveway and huge voids were under the remaining damaged driveway. The old driveway needed to be removed, fill dirt needed to be brought in, and a new driveway needed to be poured.

We had a wonderful overall experience! Tony is knowledgeable, punctual, reasonable and professional. I wish we could rate him higher than an A! He deserves extra credit and a grade of A+++. Tony stayed on top of his crew to make sure the work was perfect. He also came by the house again after the crew left to make sure it was all done to our liking. We are very impressed by his work ethic and we appreciate his dedication to making sure that we had an excellent experience. I will definitely contact Tony again for my future projects. If you are searching for a contractor, there's no need to look any further...Tony is the best!

It wasn't a bad experience, because I would have remembered it. I have a degree in interior design. Contractors come out and try to tell me what ever what ever because I am a woman. I don't ever say anything, but I know better. I know there is a certain way to do things and certain products need to be used. If they're not telling me what I know should be used, I just immediately end there. I don't even try to talk to you.

Prompt response [within the hour] when I called to get an estimate and if could he take on this project. He offered options as how best to replace back door brick steps given the tightness of the space when cars were parked [the space allocated to parking and the size of the steps had led the previous owners to install steps which were too narrow plus substandard mortar had been used apparently causing the steps to fall apart]. New steps were the only practical solution since the old steps had been removed and cinder blocks had been used as temporary steps. He built new steps which had the proper depth and height and increased the overall width of the steps making it safer and easier to enter or exit through the back door. All of the foundation vents on the back side of the house were to varying degrees below ground level. [During the recent floods water used those vents to flood underneath the house.] Only some of the vents had some sort of brick wall around the vents and those that were there were not high enough to be effective. He built new protective walls for two vents, he added additional height to four vents, and he built new protective walls for three vents on the end of the house. There are six front steps and in the fifty or so years of the house much of the mortar has disappeared. Several bricks on the edges had come loose and three bricks at the top where the wrought iron railing was anchored had come loose. The railing itself was very "wiggly". The bottom row of bricks had an area where several bricks had begun to sag. All of these issues were identified and he repaired and replaced bricks where needed. The quality of the work reflects on his attention to detail, his skill, and his professionalism. Very reasonable cost. He removed all construction debris. Will we use him in the future? Absolutely! We have already agreed on our next project [driveway repair and new walkway to front steps which will begin after the holidays.]

The owner called me around 8:30 PM on Tuesday and had sounded like he had been drinking. He wanted me to pay him more money for the work after already agreeing on $900 for the job. He said that the brick work would be the same as before, which the top was rounded, but it isn't the same and the top is now flat. He told me that he could use old bricks, but he had bought new bricks. He also said that distance he had to drive would cause the price to go up, but I think he should have factored that into the estimate when he initially drove out here. He also wanted to know how much the insurance company was paying me as well, as the damage is covered by insurance.

Response from Standridge Masonry & Repair
I normally don't give much credence to slanderous and false accusations against my work ethic or professionalism, but this warrants at least a minimal response. This homeowner was given an estimate by my company for $2,225 for a turn key job to clean up debris scattered throughout his yard and rebuild a large mailbox after being hit by one of the neighbors. My company's estimate was turned in to the neighbor's insurance company and they paid the estimate, in full, sending the check directly to the homeowner. Once the job was complete, the homeowner stated that he was extremely happy with the work that was done, however, rather than paying the $2,225 quoted in the estimate, the homeowner took it upon himself to pay only $900.00 and pocketed the remainder of the money paid off by the insurance company. P.S. I do not drink and I am usually still working at 8:30 p.m. most nights so a phone call to this homeowner from me while in a drunken state, is HIGHLY unlikely!

Called Tony and explained that we moved the vent for our fireplace and we needed to install a couple of bricks to patch hole. We sent Tony a couple of photos and he said no problem would be out on Friday. Tony showed up on time and had the right bricks to match and the mortar matched. Tony did a great great job, you could never tell the hole was patched. Highly recommend Tony and will use him again.

Tony coordinated the services provided by other contractors as well as performing services himself. We found Tony very conscientious, courteous, and professional. He went above and beyond to ensure the project was done to our satisfaction. He takes great pride in the finished product, so makes sure all subcontractors also do an excellent job. It took longer to complete the project than expected, but some additional work was done and weather prevented some of the finishing. All subcontractors were excellent except the work done by the workers hired by an electric company. The main electrician was very knowledgeable, but, the men he sent to complete that portion of the project were inefficient and did some shoddy work. Some of their work needed to be redone by other subcontractors. The landscaper was excellent and I would highly recommend him. The concrete contractor did a very good job on the major project but could have done a better job of pouring and leveling the concrete in the third garage project. Overall I would highly recommend Tony, James Carlisle, the concrete company, the iron railing subcontractor but would not utilize the men provided by the electrician.

Tony is FANTASTIC! He is responsive, professional, personable, committed and goes above and beyond. Tony takes great pride in his craft and based on his attention to every detail he should. This was a challenging project. He and his team work neat. They leave the work area organized/clean at the end of each day. He knows his business and offers you solutions that will ensure the best result. His prices are very fair for the work done. He provides updates on the project as it is in progress and does a walk-through with you at the end. I highly recommend Tony and you bet I will use him again if needed. I totally trust him.

My goodness! I can't believe the great job that Tony did. You can't even tell where he has made the repairs. I expected it to look good but had no idea that it could look so incredible. Plus, he is a great guy, very friendly, and puts you at ease. For the estimate he arrived promptly, did an assessment, made some suggestions, and gave me a price. He arrived on time for the work and worked for 3.5 hours making the repairs. When done he charged me exactly the estimate, even though he did a bit of additional work. After the work was done we walked around my house and made sure that every thing was done to my satisfaction. I really am impressed with his work, you truly can't tell where the issues were. I highly recommend Tony.

My need was a small job in the scheme of concrete work. I contacted three Angie's List concrete contractors for this job. Standridge was the only one to reply. I think I got a good price. I would have a clearer indication if I had gotten any other contractors to bid. He came and looked at my site, made a bid. On the day of the pour, the crew arrived at the 8:30a stated time. The grading was quickly done by the Bobcat. The soil moved was spread nicely and not left in a big pile. After the forms were set, and a bit of waiting, we learned of mechanical problems at the concrete plant. So the crew stepped away to another job site. About 4p Standridge called to say the concrete was on it's way. The truck and the crew were at my doorstep simultaneously. The pour was completed, the surface finished and the crew did initial clean up. Three days later, just before the delivery of the Spa, the crew returned and removed the forms and did a last look for any debris and took all their gear away. I wish Standridge would have made the "call before you dig" number. That was an unnecessary delay from the time I gave the go ahead. Our utilities are all underground in our plat. I am a new owner and couldn't answer Tony's question, "Where are the utilities". But that is such a small hitch. Without Standrige, I might still be waiting to get some concrete so the Swim Spa could be setup.
Description of Work: Standridge made a bid for a pad for our new Swim Spa. This 9X15 foot pad required grading. After getting the utilities marked, on the first day after that was completed, the crew Swarmed, the bobcat graded, the forms were set and we waited for concrete. Due to a mechanical problem at the cement source, the truck arrived late in the day. The crew returned from another job and did the pour and finish work. The crew returned after 3 days and picked up the forms and did a final cleanup of the site.
