Could not have gone better. What a wealth of knowledge he has of clocksmithing. I called his number around 9 am he answered. Mr. Smith asked me a few questions about the clock. told me it didn't sound to serious. 45 minutes later I showed up at his shop.. In five minutes he knew what the problem was..in just a few minutes later he had the problem solved.. You will not find a more honest clocksmith. very professional but very friendly and curtious..his service was very reasonable priced. When I went to the store, the store was abandoned and there was a sign on the door with a man's name and number. When I called the number, the recording said the mailbox was full. I went next door to another store to ask if they knew anything about this store closing, and they said that several people had come in asking the same thing, saying that the owner had disappeared with their clocks and didn't know how to contact him.

The clock works very well now.

The first clock was done in less than a day. The hands had stopped moving. The second clock is very old and needs major work done it. That will take a bit longer.

After he repaired it, the clocked stopped working. He wanted an additional $290 to do an "overhaul" on the clock.

Our grandfather clock had been left in storage and had not run for a number of years. I was pretty concerned when we retrieved it that it would not work at all. I was right, it didn't stay running. the pendulum would not move, it wouldn't chime...I feared the worst!. We called Bryan who responded for a service call within 48 hours. In an hour, he had the clock fully repaired and I didn't have to mortgage the house to put it back into perfect running order. Bryan is knowledgeable, professional, and reasonable in his pricing (consider he traveled from Summerville to James Island). Love to hear the deep ticking sound and the chimes that only a grandfather clock makes. Thank you! I have already referred you to someone who has a wounded cuckoo clock. A great job at a great bargain. We will definitely pass the word to all our friends.

I feel I should have paid more for the prompt service and vast information Brian (Smith's Clock Service) provided. I needed some glass fixed on an antique clock I had. Cost was so little. He had it fixed before I even got home later that evening. Brian also was nice enough to provide details about the clock, make, era, how to use it, etc. And was nice enough to exchange the brass key so I can set the clock when needed. I have another clock that I will send his way. Truly this is first class customer service, professionalism, and what the small business owners are all about. TWO THUMBS UP! Thanks again...

Bryan gave me an estimate and told me what would be done to get both back in working order. While I did not do any price comparisons (because he had an excellent rating on Angie's list and the most reviews posted) I felt the price quote was fair. When I picked the clocks up I discovered I had neither a key to unlock the case nor a key for winding the Howard Miller clock. I had assumed they were in the bubble wrap along with the pendulum. That was not a problem. Bryan was kind enough to search around for both and give them to me at no charge. The antique clock (my great grandfathers) works beautifully making me smile each time I hear the hour ring. The wall clock sounded great in the shop and no doubt will sound just as wonderful once a needed hanging bracket is purchased. I would definitely recommend Bryan to anyone who needs a clock repaired. I even offered to pick-up my Mom's clock in Charlotte , NC and take it to him to be repaired!

I was extremely upset about my clock. It holds a lot of sentimental value, plus I had just dropped almost $500 getting it set up and tuned up by another repair man. Bryan called me back almost immediately and offered to come downtown to fix it that afternoon (on a Saturday). He was extremely professional and friendly. He was also upfront with the cost (standard cost for a home visit plus an additional cost if the clock had to be moved to his shop for additional work). He explained several things about the clock to me in detail (like how to slow it down if it was moving too fast - which it was) and provided the information in writing as well. He also gave me tips on how to avoid getting overcharged by others - i.e. some of the things they would recommend as vital upkeep that really weren't necessary. I couldn't have been more impressed. I will definitely use him for all of my future needs.

He's very good. He didn't charge me the second time, it stopped working so I called him and told him. He said he was in the neighborhood so he stopped in and said he wound it to tight and that's all it took. He's very personable, professional, prompt and responsive. He's in the neighborhood and has learned his clock and watch repairing from his father. He seems to love what he does.
