Technician arrived promptly and got straight to work. He was very professional and efficient and had the locks rekeyed quickly. I will definitely use this service again when needed and will highly recommend pop-a-lock to my friends, relatives and coworkers.

A month ago tomorrow, I purchased a deal to have 4 locks rekeyed for $115. Sounded like a good price to me. Not so good if the provider never contacts you. I guess they don't need the business.

It went very well. I am happy to have had the job done. David immediately responded to my phone call and assured me that he could me meet me after work. Other locksmiths had answering services and they didn't call back. I really like that about a locksmith service. Almost everyone who suddenly needs this service is anxious to meet up with the technician. Pop a Lock is very responsive.

David came to my house an hour and a half after I called for a same-day appointment, and was at my location for around a half hour. He was friendly and performed the requested services quickly. I used the Angie's List special promotion (4 locks re-keyed on 2 doors) for $115. David charged me an extra $10 for two extra keys (4 total) and the re-key of the 5th lock.

They came in less than 15 minutes and I was very happy!

Went fine, except worker had to return as one of the locks wouldn't open with the key provided. He returned immediately to fix. Had something to do with product.

Re keyed all doors for a new house. Very efficient service call. Some of the knobs were keyed differently and had to be picked before could be re keyed. Everything is working fine now. It now feels like our house.

They unlocked it but I had so done else remove the locking device so I could have a new key made. They could not make a key

I closed the entrance door of our daughter's house without noticing that it was locked. This was an early Sunday morning. I called a couple of other services. There was no response from one; another had no tech available, but Popalock responded immediately. The technician was pleasant, professional, and had the door open in less than a minute. The service charge was half of what I was expecting.

I called late on a Saturday afternoon and was told the lock smith would call me back promptly. He took 30 minutes for him to call back. And when he did, he got information that I already gave the dispatcher. And told me he was not available for the call and next available time was Monday.

Triple A (AAA) auto service called PopaLock last Thursday, as I had a new key made for the car, and for some reason it wouldn't work and got stuck at the end of the day, although it had worked earlier. In fact, AAA recommended sending a "locksmith" instead of the regular service. I kept having to call in and ask AAA where the truck was. I was told at 6:15 it'd be here (at my job) in an hour. Then at 7:30 I was told in 40 minutes. At 8:40 I was told that the truck was 19 minutes away, headed here, and would call in ten minutes to touch base. At 9:30, still no truck. AAA puts me on hold, and then informs me that the locksmith was now claiming it was something the dealer would look at. Okay. One wonders why the locksmith didn't choose to share that tidbit with AAA when they called him at 6:15, rather than leaving me stuck at my office for 3 hours. To add insult to injury, the PopaLock website for my city, at http://www.popalock.com/franchise/columbia_sc_locksmith.php, proudly proclaims that their "specialty" is fixing and replacing car ignitions. Funny how they feel free to advertise that service on the Internet, but also feel free to tell you that's not something they offer at all when you are on the phone with them or in a jam. If you ever need to call AAA in Columbia, SC, while they do use PopaLock for regular towing, they also use Tillman Towing. If you do not want to be abandoned for 3 hours and more (AAA finally suggested I call a friend to take me home, as they were then going to have to call someone else and it'd be 11:00 before they could get there), anyhow, if you actually want a professional to show up and help you, INSIST on Tillman. As far as I'm aware, Tillman does not engage in false advertising and I have used them several times over the years. They've always been timely and courteous. Also, the Tillman guy did come the next day and fixed my car in 15 seconds! That's right. A so-called "professional" locksmith couldn't handle it, but the Tillman towtruck guy could.

Pop a Lock has technicians all over the Columbia area. The only complaint is that I did have to wait a while before anyone called me back. When the technician called he discussed the problem and made some money savings suggestions to do before he arrived! He agreed that I should go to Lowe's and buy a new lockset just in case he needed to put one in. He arranged to arrive in 1 1/2 hours to give me time to get to Lowe's. He seemed considerate of my time and my money and I really appreciate that. He was able to fix my existing lockset, which meant I got to take the new one back to Lowe's which saved me $$$. There were no problems. They were on time and they did what I asked them to do. They came out when they said they would come out. They met my expectations and I was pleased. I don't remember the price being excessive.

I think it is bad form to transfer a customer to a number that rolls to voice mail. In my office, a transferred call that isn't answered rolls back to the receptionist. I was put off by getting voice mail instead of someone human to assist me. Had the receptionist taken my number and said "I'll have the tech call you" I would have been satisfied (assuming I got the call back). Anyway, I have no reason to doubt that Pop-a-Lock is as good as the reviews but I'll never know because they let this customer get away.

Our car was left in a parking lot in NE Columbia, with theheadlights left on. it resused to start. I notified AAA and they sent Pop-a Lock. The attendant arrived promptly and sent us on our way. A bad experience made good.

Called and the service man, Brandon said he would be out the same afternoon at 1:00 PM (this was on a Saturday). Brandon called back and asked if he could come early about 11:00 AM instead of waiting until 1. He came at 11 AM and had all the locks rekeyed and extra keys made. He taught me how to maintain our locksets in good working order. He cleaned up after himself. Fast, friendly and efficient service!

They did not get back with me after our original call.

Clyde provided excellent service. Gave me plenty of notice as to when he would arrive. Very friendly, very fast. Even gave me extra keys. Tried to reverse a lock that had been put in upside-down, but discovered it was done so for a reason, and explained the reason to me and my options. Even gave me a painting tip. Great service.

I called the main number at 2:00 pm and the receptionist put me in touch with a locksmith on the road, and we made an appointment for that same afternoon. Dave arrived on time, inspected the work to be done and got started. The whole job took about 15-20 minutes, very quick. He also gave me advice and instructions on another project I am working on (replacing front door handle and hardware). Very quick and very professional....plus they have the cheapest fee to come to your home. I highly recommend Dave at Pop-A-Lock.
