Description of Work: We bought are place and our well was a mess we could have gotten electrocuted the pump was broke and my light bill was almost 800.00 before we had Kay's come and got it to work correctly.

Response from Kay Plumbing Services
The work that we completed was done in the fall of 2012. Our initial trip and invoice was dated on September 6th 2012. On that date we replaced the well pump, a new control pressure tank assembly for the pump, and ran new pipe and wiring for the entire system. In addition we also installed a whole house water filter and disinfected the well system due to high levels of bacteria. The total price of the work was $3,857.

According to the company’s records the customer has no reason to raise complaints about the service provided for them. We unstopped the toilet for the customer in June 2011 (our last record of any work done for that customer). The work was at no cost, the customer joined the annual Service Plan Agreement and paid $76 for it, we left the customer satisfied. The misunderstanding arises from a completely different situation when this same customer (also insurance agent for State Farm) recommended Kay Plumbing to a potential client. Upon our discovery that that insurance company would not cover the cost of repairs (which would normally be covered by most insurance agencies) the potential client changed their mind and never proceeded with any work by Kay Plumbing.

To whom it may concern, we went to this home on the First of February 2013. Our owner went to this call personally. While there, he recaulked the kitchen sink, installed a shower head that the customer supplied herself, and also did a diagnostic to several of the homes fixtures and pipes. During that diagnostic he found that the home had high water pressure, a leaking emergency valve, broken pipes to a bar sink, and a leaking P trap under a lavatory sink. He then gave her estimates to repair those issues found in the diagnostic. Then the customer was billed and she used a coupon that was good for $100.00 of her final bill and she was not charged a trip charge, which was waived by virtue of the type of coupon she had. Her final bill was $65.00. She paid her bill and we were never contacted by her to follow up on any of the other tasks we recommended. Since then we have had no communication from this customer until she made this review on 3/26/2014. We feel that this review is pure maliciousness on the part of the reviewer and as can be seen by our many other reviews it is not an accurate rating of our company’s skill, effort, fairness, and overall honest and professional reputation.

Description of Work: WE BOUGHT THE ONE YEAR PLUMBING POLICY WHICH GAVE US 2 INSPECTIONS A YEAR PLUS OTHER BENEFITS. DURING THE FIRST INSPECTION EVERYTHING SEEMED FINE WITH OUR PLUMBING EXCEPT THE DRAIN TUBE FOR A FAIRLY NEW WATER HEATER HAD NOT BEEN CONNECTED TO THE OUTSIDE OF THE HOUSE IN THE CRAWL SPACE. WE AGREED THAT IT SHOULD BE CONNECTED TO ROUTE ANY POSSIBE OVERFLOW AWAY FROM AND NOT UNDER THE HOUSE. THE YOUNG MAN SPENT ABOUT 10 MINUTES GLUEING THE PVC TUBE (WHICH WAS ALREADY IN PLACE) TO THE ELBOW FROM THE WATER HEATER. THE BILL FOR THAT SMALL JOB WAS $170! OF COURSE I PAID BUT FELT THAT WAS EXCESSIVE FOR THE SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME SPENT. KAY'S USES SOME SORT OF A FLAT RATE CHART SO IT SEEMS THERE MAY NOT BE PROVISIONS FOR SMALLER JOBS. THEY ARE FRIENDLY AND PROFESSIONAL BUT THEIR PRICES ARE PROBABLY ON THE HIGH END. WOULD I USE THEM AGAIN? ONLY IF THE PRICE SEEMED IN LINE WITH THE EXTENT OF THE JOB.

The customer who is a member of our Service Plan was offered a FREE plumbing inspection which has $300.00 value. Also, in accordance with the company's policy the customer was informed upfront of the price for the planned repair. It was their choice to go ahead with the work at the price quoted. The plumber discovered there was a safety issue with the water heater and safety is priceless. Kay Plumbing helped avoid any future problems and potential additional costs.
