+ 1 moreThe tile floor and wood floor went very well. I am very pleased with his attention to detail and suggestions made for improving the sub-flooring and foundation. Excellent work! Chris would have excellent on everything if there wasn't such a delay in between jobs and if he kept in touch with me about delays in material orders. Example: He was supposed to replace my back screen and metal doors 3 weeks ago. I had called to see if I could get the direction of the door hinges changed on my order, and I have not heard back from him. I will call again. You might ask why I would hire him again with a low rating. The reason is that he is excellent at what he does. The time management and communication delays have been frustrating, but I am willing to cope with it because of his skills. Chris even caught a few corrections that needed to be done for perfection and had them fixed.
Description of Work: Chris (owner) gave me an estimate on subflooring repair, tile installation, foundation repair, wood flooring installation, and vapor barrier. The subfloor in my bathroom and laundry room was repaired, insulation installed (I found out that there was none nor a vapor barrier in my crawl space under the house.) vapor barrier installed, and checked for leaks. My beautiful tile floor in the laundry room, bathroom and hallway is installed. Chris is very friendly, knowledgeable, customer oriented, very professional and precise in the work he does. He asks questions as he progresses to make sure he is working according to our plan and keeping me informed as to any necessary changes. Do let Chris know when a good start and stop time is for you if needed. Ask lots of questions - he has the answers and patience to explain things. Ask what you need to do (such as clear out cabinets or shelves if needed for his work (dust may get on things).

+ -1 moreBoth projects went great. Chris Dorfler is a hands on contractor who goes the extra mile to make the project a success. If he isn't directly doing the work, then he is ensuring that his subcontractor (Concrete, electrician) is performing up to the highest standard. Chris is very thorough in his explanations of how and why things need to be done certain ways; be it structural or building codes. I would recommend Dorfler Homes for any project...large or small.
Description of Work: Added hall coat closet in house...framing and sheetrock, doors and trim, flooring, etc...November 2011 Two car detached garage. Excavation, concrete slab, framing, electrical, siding, sheet rock, etc.
