Description of Work: A shower handle broke off and in my inspection of the situation I determined that the plastic end of the control valve was broken off. After considerable internet searches and talking to the plumbing department at Lowes, I determined I needed professional help as I could not get any information on how the valve was put together. The shower and house was built in 1985. I was concerned that there might be soldering involved inside the wall since I could not see a hex nut as expected. Mr. Cottrell showed up on time as scheduled, took a look at the situation and within a minute told me this was a Delta fixture and on the end of the valve there is a plastic extender which the handle screws into. He did not have that specific part in his truck, but, asked me if I was comfortable in turning off the water and replacing this part myself. I was, so he instructed me on the steps and left with out charging me anything at all. I did do as he instructed and the process took less then 5 minutes after I had the part. In fact the replacement part is actually better then the original as there is a long screw that goes through the plastic extension and secures directly in the end of the valve. I plan to replace all of these extenders. My wife is happy also, as I finally removed and replaced the handle in the master bath shower also. Thanks Mr. Cottrell. By the way 2 extenders and 2 new handles were just under $16.00

Description of Work: I had received a letter from the Town of Lexington that according to DHEC regulations, I needed to have a licensed plumber to come to my home and install a backflow regulator to my water system. After checking reviews on Angie's List and with the BBB, I decided to call Cottrell Plumbing and request their services. On arriving for the appointment, Jason Cottrell was professional, polite, and very informative. He advised me that I already have a backflow regulator on my system, so all he had to do was take a water sample and report his findings to DHEC. He took care of all the paper work, and sent me a copy of his findings for my records. I was very impressed with Jason and his professionalism. I will most definately use this business in the future for all my plumbing issues.

Description of Work: We used Cottrell & Co in Columbia for an emergency plumbing issue. They came out promptly and fixed the problem quickly and economically. We will use them again.

Description of Work: Jason came in on time, professionally dressed and ready to complete the job-- Jason installed a new garbage Disposal that he recommended as well as fixing a severe drainage problem by the previous contractor. Please use him as he does plumbing and he is very good as to what he does and he guarantees his work!

Description of Work: i used Jason because i read good things about him and his company on Angie's list. i had a leek in my ceiling and he came out took a look around and both him and I were stumbled because we could not find where it was coming from. After looking around a bit he thought he had found the problem with a gunky pipe. he cleaned out the pipe and so far i have had no problems. it has only been a few days so i'm hoping it will not happen again.

Description of Work: Mr. Cotrell was extremely professional..... He took his shoes off at the front door so not to track any dirt inside the house. He was pleasant, friendly, prompt and did a great job. We were having some leaking in an upstairs toilet and he gave us various options (re-build VS. new) and he finished the job the very same day. He also un-clogged 2 tubs that were draining slowly and secured and outside water fixture that was loose when we had out inspection 5 years ago--- any easy fix, but now it's done (my husband never got around to it). Was VERY, VERY happy with his work. He also gave me the name of an appliance repair man who will be coming to check the washing machine on Thursday. I now have a reliable and trustworthy plummer---- won't have to use anyone else in the future!!!!

Description of Work: I had used Jason's services previously when a home inspection showed three leaks which needed attention. On his first visit, Jason repaired two of the leaks as we couldn't find the third. A re-inspection showed the third leak and he came by and repaired for free since he didn't see it the first time. I also had him look at a shower handle which had a problem and he told me that the manufacturer would replace the needed part for free and he provided me with the toll-free number to the manufacturer. Jason didn't charge a service call since he said he should have caught the third leak on the original call and didn't charge me for looking at the shower handle. Another great job, Jason!! I highly recommend him.

Description of Work: I am selling my house and the inspector found a couple of problems under the house. Jason was there early, repaired one leak for free and had the other one fixed in 15 minutes. I was impressed with his professionalism, integrity, and speed of service. I will definitely use him in the future and highly recommend him.
