Bob's Plumbing Service

IWe had work done by Steve from Bob's plumbing several times and were really happy with the results. He's a great guy. If you call Bob's, make sure you get Steve. I can't emphasize that enough. This particular time we scheduled an appointment with Bob, the owner, who came with two workers to give us a "free" estimate which turned out to be extremely expensive. We had a leak just inside the door of our crawl space. I did all the running back and forth to get them hand shovels to dig with, to turn water on and off, flush toilets, etc. One of the guys dug about a three inch deep hole and discovered it was just a cap in the pipe that needed to be tightened. All the while Bob hung around the truck smoking and grinding out his cigarettes in our driveway. I wanted to give them something since the problem, however simple, was solved, so I asked what I owed them. $150!!! For a job that was supposed to be a free estimate, that lasted about 20 minutes and that I did all the leg work for. I am female and my husband was not home that morning; I think that had a lot to do with the inflated price. I'm just as angry at myself for not telling him he was crazy and giving him $50 to cover his gas and that whopping 20 minutes for our "free" estimate. I got overcharged by someone I never actually hired!'
