Great work from diagnosing to repair. All needed work was explained clearly. Paul was pleasant and easygoing.

Paul Fields and Black River Landscaping responded immediately and continued with thorough communication throughout my project. I would highly recommend them not only for my sprinkler system concerns but also for other projects I may have in the future. They were extremely knowledgeable and hard working to fix my sprinkler system.

We had Paul the owner of Black River Landscaping come out and do some irrigation work. He added several irrigation heads. He asked my wife for payment in full and said job was complete. When I got home that evening I was surprised to find that none of the new irrigation lines were buried and he just covered with pinestraw so my wife could not see it and only buried the irrigation heads barely halfway. After multiple attempts to get him to return and bury everything properly with no luck I ran into Paul at Lowe's. I approached him and asked him why he never showed up when he said he was to complete job and he said he was going to be in my area and come by that day. Of course he never showed up. I finally spent a couple hours and buried everything properly myself. At least it only cost me $700.00 to figure out that Paul and Black River Landscaping is an unprofessional business that will cheat you and take advantage of you. I know they do much larger jobs like pouring concrete driveways, etc. so beware because it could cost you much more than it cost me for a job done poorly and which he will not make right.

Paul and his crew did a first rate job. They arrived on time, worked to fix the problem and do the repair. Their price was reasonable and they were able to come and fix it the same day we called.

I hate having to do this as I respect those who own a small business and who are raising a family. However, I am also raising a family and work hard for the money that I use to pay for a service. I contracted with this company to do yard drainage and fill sand at my home. From day one, it was a nightmare. I spent most of my time either doing the work I paid them to do or trying to get ahold of them. When they finally showed up, they had a lot of issues due to how wet the property was. The brought in a skid steer and basically ripped up the yard. Installed a pump (was supposed to be automatic)) that stopped working after the first day (I went out and bought a $600 pump and worked on that when they weren't here, which was most of the time). They ended up getting the skid steer stuck and were here until 10pm trying to get it out. They had to use my willow tree to wench it out, which now is bent and all mangled, but not a huge deal, I get it. They dumped one load of dirt along the fence line and would maybe show up around 5 or 6pm just to check things out. I live in a neighborhood with an HOA so I had to have all the work completed on a specific date. The owner assured me up and down that it would be completed well before then. Well, it wasn't and nobody would return any of my calls, texts or emails. Fed up, I asked that we terminate the contract and I be refunded the portion of the deposit I paid for work that was not completed. He agreed and sent me a screenshot of a refund that was to be issued. However, the screenshot had a card number for the refund that did not belong to me. Was told that the company "masks" the number and I would need to wait 7-9 business days for the refund...ok cool. Guess what, no refund. The owner says he will cancel that refund method and get cash and pay me withing 48 hrs. Guess what, no replies and no cash. This has been the absolute worst experience I have ever had with a company. The owner and crew were so nice, too bad they dont fulfill an agreement!

Great experience with quick turn around! The owner, Paul, was extremely responsive, courteous, and a pleasure to work with. Would recommend to friends and family!

It went well. Once they were on the job it was quick!

The company is unprofessional and disrespectful. The owner scheduled an appointment and then never showed. He did not call to reschedule. He didn't even call to let me know he would be late or wouldn't be able to make it. I rearranged my whole day hoping he would show up. They were unresponsive to my phone calls. I would have been reasonable if they had just picked up the phone. I have over 2 acres of good business they missed out on. Hopefully Angie's list can do better than these people.

Would give them a 0 if I could. They are awful, take your money and do not complete the job. For weeks I have been calling them to complete the job and they fail to communicate- promise to show up and then don't. The biggest mistake I made (other than hiring these guys), is paying up front. Don't do that- they will rip you off. Once they take your money good luck getting them to return phone calls, communicate with you or show up. Paul, the owner, is terrible- will not return phone calls and as they have no front office, you cannot get anyone to answer your calls.

Did a great job and I definitely would hire BLACK RIVER FOR ANY OTHER SERVICE THEY DO I know everyone in the state knows my reputation as a business owner in this state for 51 years and BLACK RIVER IS HONEST AND VERY GOOD AT HIS TRADE

This guy is a crook and a scam! I paid him $17,000 January 19th to sod and hydroseed my mom's yard. He came once to do a small amount of sod and never came back. He will not answer or return calls from me or my mother. When I've had different friends call and inquire, he makes up excuse after excuse and a job never gets done.

Black River Landscaping went above and beyond my expectations. After having to completely replace a sewage line full of roots, we were having soil erosion issues outside of the house and flooding issues inside the house. Black River Landscaping put in a French drain, fixed the clipped underground gutters left by the plumbers, and re-sod the whole area. My yard has never looked nicer!

We called Black River Landscaping about repairing our gravel drive. They promptly were able to come out and give us a quote and had the project done in less than a week from initial call. We recommend and will use them again in the future.

The whole process was simple and troublefree. From original quote to a finished driveway was just a few days and we are very happy with the final results!
