It went terrible. From the beginning the rep had no interest in hearing about my problem...he went to great trouble to take measurements, photos, etc. and had an elaborate sales pitch. Long story short...all he wanted to do was to sell me an encapsulation system. This had no and again it had NO solution for my water problem. Stay away from!

This company does not offer Concrete lifting or mud jacking or polyfill lifting. Even though its web sites including Angie's List say different. Wasted morning clearing room and waiting for appointment. Sales Rep. left a message the night before (which I had not listened too) about wanting to discuss the work needed, but said nothing about not offering the service. Called back 15 minutes before scheduled appointment to say they don't offer the service...Not Happy!!.. about the wasted morning or the misleading website advertising.

Mr. [Member Name Removed], We are very sorry you had an undesirable experience with our company. Our website was recently updated and we were not notified of this so we could review the site for correct content. This is being corrected. We also contact our appointments 24 to 48 hours prior to the time of the scheduled visit to make sure the appointment time is still good. This also gives our representative an opportunity to clarify directions and learn a little more about the problem. Again, we are sorry . John Mitchell, Owner

Based on his inspection and my description of the problem, he recommended trying an inexpensive modification to the landscape around the vulnerable point in the foundation before considering All Dry's more expensive interior correction. I've still got his card on file if the exterior work doesn't do the trick. No charge for the visit.

I thought they did a real good job. It does not smell or anything. If it was tall enough it looks like a room you could be in to live in, but it is our crawl space. They are really good. We get an annual checkup and their services are kind of expensive, but my husband checks every time it rains and now the water does not sit underneath the house or mess up our foundation. We got a military discount and they check the humidifier to make sure it is doing what it is supposed to do for about $99.

The workers were outrageously good. The guy that did the estimate was under what it should have been and it cost us double the amount, but the guys who did the work were fabulous and made it work. It cost more, but the basement does not have a smell or anything, so I can't blame them for it. They were done in a week. I was embarrassed, there wasn't a speck of dirt when they were done. It was clean as a whistle, and it wasn't like that when they walked in. They were really good. They recommended an electrician, and so even if they didn't do some part, they support you and help you find them. They check up and make sure everything is okay. They call back every time you call them. They did a great job.

Where the water had leaked through the cinderblock the jack-hammer broke that area off the block and I was left with areas of bigger holes. They cracked a cinderblock on the second tier and repaired it without telling me. This now leaks when the ground is satuated with a week of heavy rain where I never had a leak before. Where the water is pumped out works ok until there is less water to push out and now I have the water dribbling down the out-let drain creating a whole in the soil. On the whole it doesn't look as pretty as the pictures in the book. Except for that new crack they created the system does work well. I did put in an outside french drain to carry excess water away from the side of the house where I have the new crack. It didn't leak much and not at all with light rain-falls. I used floating carpet tiles in case the crack gets worse. As for the drain cover, I put some flushing around it to direct the water away from the corner of the house. Luckily, I took pictures of the whole job after the first couple of heavy rain falls so I have back-up to prove what I am saying. You can see the water seepage from the crack and many places where the water seeped out of the drain itself. However, I figured the stones needed time to settle along with any excess debri. I am going into my 2nd year and rain-fall has not been as heavy. So far, no leaks for 12 months. The personnel were polite and cleaned up before they left. Would another company have done any better, I doubt it, as, they would use the one jack-hammer with the same force to break up the cement. Since my proberty collects all the water flowing down from the top of the neighborhood I didn't have much choice but to choose this type of water-proofing. I also put in french drains around the edge of my property to direct excess water to the back of my property where there is a slope to carry most of it off to a lake a half a mile away. The one would not have worked without the other. I do have to keep my gutters cleared otherwise my basement walls become satuated. It definately was not a final solution but at least I'm not spending days suctioning up water and drying my basement out with a fan and heater. At this present time when I get heavy rain I can sleep without worry my basement is flooding. However, I noticed my wall has new settlement cracking between the cinderblocks which I feel can be easily patched. My walls were slightly pushing in but that seems to have corrected itself ergo, cracks elsewhere. One day my house my collapse but I feel I won't have anymore flooding.

They had to come back 3 times because they had to do some repairs. In the long run, they did everything they were supposed to do. It just took them a little bit longer to do it. They are a good reputable company and I would give them a high rating. They did what they were supposed to do. They were here when they said they were going to be here.

I was extremely pleased with All Dry. They gave me many options to fix my flooding basement problem without any high pressure sales techniques. The crew did an awesome job and were very courteous. I made a few changes as the install progressed and they handled everything with a smile. There are a few companies that do the same type work and I have used 2 of them. I would not hesitate to recommend All Dry.

Had an existing system that they came to do warranty work on. I had them quote putting bright wall on my cinder block walls. It was approximately $2,000 so I scheduled them to install though their schedule was just short of a month out. Literally a week before the scheduled install they called me saying the owner wanted to look at the job one last time. He came out and basically told us the cinder block wall was not structurally sound and needed over $13,000 of wall anchors and supports. I panicked. I've had 2 other foundation companies come out and literally laugh at the thought of installing wall anchors. One put a level to it and the most my over 50 year old wall was out was 1/12th an inch. The most it would ever need - and not needed now - would be carbon fiber stripes at a cost of approximately $4,000 dollars. Also they never suggested consulting an engineer which should have been recommended for a job over $5,000. I felt like they were just trying to take advantage of us.

Response from All Dry Of The Carolinas Inc
We cannot safely cover up a wall that has structural problems with any type of wall treatment, unless some type of structural repair has been performed to support the bowed and cracked wall. Since this wall has began to tip at the top inward, carbon fiber strips are not recommended. Our wall anchor proposal was $6,500.00 . We also gave a proposal for two corners that were settling using push piers to stabilize the front corners, which was not addressed by other contractors. This proposal was $7,000.00. We always pull a permit for our foundation work and provide stamped engineering drawings if required by the city or county where the permit is issued. When there is a variance in opinions, we recommend the customer hire their own structural engineer and they will guide you to the best fix and provide you with a list of contractors.

They were awesome and great. They were really nice people and were on time. The guy who came out to give the estimate was knowledgeable and explained everything to me including all the codes. He informed me about why my basement was such a disgusting mess. I am not sure if I could have said no to him because he was so informative and I knew that I had such a bad problem that my termite bond was going to be terminated. When I asked him when he was going to start for which he said whenever I’d like them to start. They guys who came to work came at a time when it was raining and yet they worked. They were muddy and nasty that I felt so embarrassed but they never complained even once. They were very pleasant. I wish they had asked me where I wanted the drainpipes from the humidifier because I had it worked out what had to be done. They went ahead with it the way they wanted to which was fine but it just wasn’t what I had planned. Even though there were so much I was totally comfortable with each and every man that was here.
Description of Work: I used All-Dry Of The Carolinas Inc for encapsulating my crawl space. They took out the old one, straightened out the dirt floor and then put in a really heavy plastic staff up everywhere. They sealed the vent fringe and put in a dehumidifier.

All Dry of the Carolinas has provided a quote to do a french drain system around the front yard and replacing a sump pump that was installed by another company with one that is not a box store pump, but a super sump. They have also provided me with a warranty and clean outs will be installed in order to flush the system once a year. I have a quote for encapsulation as well. But that work will have to wait until I have a joist replaced.

The leaks in the system were repaired by putting a clear putty-like sealant over the leaks. They responded to my initial request quickly. While they were here there was a mildew/mold issue discovered. The promise to help eliminate the mildew/mold area has yet to be fulfilled. I will continue to use this company for warranty repairs but would hesitantly recommend them to a friend.

Our basement flooded 07-13-13 when we got a historic rainfall of 8.5" in 75 minutes. We were able to wet vac and dehumidify but wanted to eliminate our primary and battery back-up sump pumps, which had been unable to keep up with the in-flow. We felt we needed better drainage along the 60' level front driveway along the front of the house, and to install a large passive pipe from the basement sump room out into the downward-sloping back yard, about 4' lower than the sump pit. However this would be complicated due to a back-filled area between the sump room and the back yard. My husband contacted All-Dry approx 08-01-13 and they scheduled someone to visit on 08-15-13. Steve arrived on time and was professional, but said "We don't like passive drainage." They apparently have a very limited list of things they can offer: sump pumps, small (3") floor drains, plastic sheeting and dehumidifiers. We had seen about 150 gallons per minute roaring into our sump room during this storm and were traumatized yet determined never to have this happen again, even if we have another 100-year rainfall event and the electricity goes out. All Dry was unable to offer a suitable solution. Steve said they would quote the installation of the plastic sheeting if I would send them the sump room dimensions. My husband sent him the dimensions the same day but we never received a quote. Thank goodness my husband is an engineer, as he was able to calculate the sizing and oversee installation of an NDS Dura=Slope drain channel along the driveway, and to arrange for a directional boring company to bore underground from the backyard into the sump room, where we installed a 6" PVC drain line at 4% down slope, capable of flowing over 600 gpm sans pumps.

It was a very positive experience with All Dry. They were very quick to respond to my phone calls, answered all of my questions, and walked me through the entire process to ensure I understood everything. Their price was about $3k cheaper than anyone else that I received a quote from. The workers were so nice. They showed up on time, worked very hard, and completed the job in a timely manner. After each day of work, they explained to me or my wife, what they were doing, when they would be back the following day, and what they would be doing the following day. After the completion of the job, they showed my wife all the work they performed, talked to her about how to work the dehumidifier, and told her how to service the pieces of equipment. I am very pleased with the company, and I truly appreciate everything they did for us.

They have excellent product if you're going to use your basement for storage or have frequent access to it. For my situation with the crawl space, the product was overkill. I had to wait for them, they just came out about 2 weeks ago, I think they came out the same day as the Carolina Air Care who I ended up going with. I got a great look at the product that they would use and for a different situation if you have the money, it would definitely be a great product for a different walk-in or something that was going to get frequent usage, but for a basic crawl space was way more product than we needed, for $5000 more for that product. I wouldn't use them but I would recommend them to someone that have that circumstance.
