I thought it was going well at first About a year later there were leaks. I got the new roof in 2012 and had to replace it in 2018.

I thought the job was going well until about six months later when the roof started leaking. At first they sent Mike out to repair and he repaired it for nothing. Then it started leaking again. The next time he came out I was charged an exorbitant fee. After that, I had the outside of my house repaired and painted. Still had leaks. The company that came out and did the painting and wood siding replacement sent someone out who showed me what my problems were. They described it as shoddy workmanship done on my roof. I had the roof installed in 2012 and replaced with a new roof in 2018. The inside of my home was damaged from all the leaks. Do not let these people near your property.

The roofers left old tar paper in place and tried to skip placing new tar paper over the old. They 3-nailed rather than 4-nailing each tab. They played cat and mouse trying to get away with these shortcuts when we weren't watching or were on the other side of the house. Every roofer was Mexican and non-English speaking and the crew worked unsupervised. We had to supervise but could not communicate with the crew. It was a nightmare. It was clear that this was how they normally worked. The supervisor was going to skip the agreed upon downspout work. Then he did such a shoddy job, we had him come back to fix it. After the second attempt wasn't much better, I contacted the business owner, Chris Williams. He agreed to meet with me but did not show up and would not return my calls. Eventually, they had another company come in to fix their mess. I learned that the other company got most of their business like this, being called in to fix Williams Roofing's mess. In the end, we had an acceptable result, but what it took to get there was beyond comprehension. I would not want Williams Roofing on my property again.

Did not hire because we could not get a call back.
Description of Work: Found the company through an internet search for window replacements. Their web site is very nice and seemed like a company we might want to work with. I called twice, and both times a lady said someone would call back to discuss my needs - but no one ever called.

Awful. They showed up to do work , didn't have paperwork with them didn't know what to do. Owner didn't show up to get them started. I had to tell them what to do and show them my paperwork. They did the work . Not two months later had a major leak in one of the vents in house. Leaked so bad had to put a pan under it to catch water. They came back out and calked the vent and said that was all they would do. Supposed to have 3 yr warranty on labor. Don't count on it. And was told if we get someone else to repair it , it will cancel our warranty. Owner was very rude, cursed and called us names. I would never recommend them to anyone. And if you use them it would be a bad mistake. Many more issues with roof also.

This has been the worst experience I have ever had using a company for a service please use caution and do your due diligence to make sure this is the company for you. I have done a formal complaint to the BBB and have gotten upper managements attention concerning a roof leak. To file a complaint against Williams Roofing contact SC State LLR. Mr. Williams company has had 14 complaints to the BBB in the last 36 months I was told today of this by the BBB. Don't let what happened to me happen to you.

The crew was on-site at exactly 7:30am every morning. A minor issue was that when they showed up the first day we hadn't been informed they were coming. Very satisfied with the quality of the roof and the time it took to finish(3 days); however, the final cleanup wasn't as thorough as it should have been. Still, we would definitely use them again and recommend them to our friends.

They are popular around here. They were nice people to talk to but when looking the contract, I realized that they were guaranteeing the roof for a short period of time. They only give a guarantee of 3 months and they are very hard to get a hold of. They should improve their means of contact and guarantee for the roof. I was very dissatisfied with the quote.

The first day went great! They had 6 guys working on the roof from 7:00 am until 4:00 pm on a Friday. We were told by Larry that it would be Monday before they could finish because a couple of guys were taking off for the weekend and later in the day, Larry told us they would be back Saturday. There were only 2 guys working on Saturday. So of course, they didn't finished. Monday two guys came back but didn't arrive until around noon due to a truck issue. It started raining that afternoon so they had to come back Tuesday. There were some things still on the roof and part of a ridge vent was sticking up. Someone was coming back today to fix those problems and take the satellite off and roof underneath it and reattach. During most of the time, there were things all on the roof and in the yard. In the meantime, Gene kept calling asking for the rest of the money. We told him the job was not finished. This was not communicated by Larry to Gene. My husband talked to Robert Hardy and Gene about our concerns and it seems that they were "passing the buck" to the other person. It seems Gene was more interested in getting paid than making sure we were pleased. Overall, they did a good job.

After they had left I saw a piece of shingle lying on roof. I was concerned that a piece had either come off or maybe it was just a piece left behind. I called the company and spoke with Robert Hardy the estimator. He stated that he would send the roofer back out. He never came. About a week later I call the company again and spoke with someone in office. She said she would try to get the roofer back out. He called me Friday April 10 and told me he would for sure come by next day (Saturday) and check it. As of this writing I have neither seen nor heard from anyone from the company. They were all so nice in the beginning I thought I had found someone that would be dependable. Now i'm not sure I would call them again.

Williams was very quick. Both jobs only took a couple of days each; it looks great! They were very professional and did a great job of cleaning up. I had a huge mess (my own) on the front porch and they worked around it with no complaints or schedule issues.
Description of Work: Williams put a new metal roof on my double wide; there were several soft spots that needed repair and the capped off my chimney so that I can use ventless gas logs in it. They replaced several vents as well. They also finished the underside of the front porch with vinyl as well as the fascia and soffit.

I contacted the provider on Monday of this week. Due to the wet weather we've been having, I was told it might be a few days. Even though I am working under a time constraint, I said that was fine. On Wednesday, Robert - the provider's employee who was to perform the inspection - contacted my agent. He repeatedly asked for the inspection report and other confidential documents having to do with the potential sale. My realtor explained that these documents were confidential and that he wasn't being asked for his opinion on other people's work, but rather that we were seeking his professional opinion on the state of the roof. Several hours later, he called back and said he could do the inspection. It was after 5 pm at this point, and too late in the day for the sellers. I was able to speak with Robert the next day (Thursday), and he once again asked me for the inspection report. I reiterated that he could not see the report, and that I needed him to perform an unbiased inspection. He told me he would call around noon on Friday to set up a time to do the inspection. After waking Friday afternoon (I'm on night shift), I see an email from my agent telling me that the sellers have been waiting all afternoon and that Robert has never called or shown up. My agent contacted the home office, who wasn't able to provide any explanation or help. At this point, it was too late for me to schedule another time. I had to move forward in the process without the benefit of an additional opinion on the roof. The roof could be good for another 5 years, or I could need to replace it next year. Regardless of when the work needs to be done, I will not be contacting WIlliams to provide the services. Additionally, there seems to be a disconnect as to how much they charge. Robert quoted me a price of $125, and the home office quoted me a price of $250. Thoroughly unimpressed with their professionalism after I chose them because of the reviews here on Angie's List.

First, they came out and gave me an estimate. It sounded good to me at $950, so I told him to go ahead and schedule it for me. He was nice enough, but didn't explain exactly what they would be doing, which would've been nice. He told me I'd be getting a call and would coordinate the time then. Then I guess a week later they called and said they were on the way over. I would've liked more warning, since I was on night shift and slept during the day. The guys they sent out were very polite and got the job done pretty quickly. The roof looks good and it doesn't seem to be leaking anymore so I'm happy with it. They did forget some type of magnet tool on my roof, which made me question their attention to detail somewhat. It was a pretty good experience overall. If they had explained to me exactly what they were going to do and also called to schedule a good time, I'd have had no complaints. Edit: The roof continued to leak after the repair and actually started leaking in a new spot nearby as well. It only leaked after a heavy rain, so it took some time to notice. After calling them regarding this, they sent a guy out to take a look at it again. He replaced a shingle that he said must've been the problem. I didn't see how it could have caused the leak being located where it was, but he's the professional, so I accepted that. He told me to call back if it continued to leak. Months later, after I tore up my carpet to put down a new floor, there was a heavy rain and I discovered that water was leaking down inside the wall to the floor in the same place the leak had been the whole time. The water damage didn't look any worse than it had been where the wall meets the ceiling, so I had thought it was repaired. I called back on and off and I was working nights so we played phone tag some, but eventually the same guy came back out. I have no complaints with him. He was very polite and professional, but he told me it must be that my shingles need to have some roofing cement put under them on a large section of my roof. I still don't quite feel that could be the problem. He recommended I call them out all over again and start with a new job since the warranty period is expired. It's been two years and it looks like I'm going to have to start back at square one with a different company. The way I see it, I paid nearly $1000 to have a leak fixed and although they did some work, the source of the leak was never fixed. I don't think they're bad people or a bad company, but in my case, they weren't able to fix my roof leak and unfortunately I had no way of finding out it wasn't fixed until it was too late.

It went mostly well. Williams was the most responsive and lowest priced out of all of the contractors that I received estimates from. I signed the contract on June 9 and on June 18, my entire roof was completed. There was one bad spot in the plywood that the workers tried to conceal instead of replace the plywood. They covered over the hole in the roof decking with flashing and shingled over it. I called the Robert Hardy, the estimator, as soon as I noticed it. 5 minutes later, Jose, who is the head of the crew who worked on the roof, was at my doorstep to see what the problem was. He took a look in the attic and assured me that he would return the next day to pull the new shingles off, cut the bad plywood out and replace it with good plywood. He did just that! Other than that one complaint, I don't have anything bad to say. The roof looks fantastic. My only advice is to make sure to check behind the crew to make sure they don't cut any corners.

Called in mid-April for estimate, Mr. Cook arrived on 4/18/14 and we decided in the next three weeks to go with Williams' after comparisons were made. Mr. Cook came back out to house and finalized exactly what we wanted, assisting in the decision of shingle choice and color. If there was any hiccough in the whole hiring, etc, it was that we were left a message by the roofers on the day before, that they would be arriving the next morning. We never heard the message, and this turned out to be our own answering machine dilemma, but it would have been easier going if, after Mr. Cook had finalized with us, the office would have called to warn us of a start-up date, so that removal of deck furniture, etc could have already been completed. It all worked out as roofers called from our locked gate @ 6AM on 05/20/14 (shock!) that they had arrived and then helped get everything straight for working. Luckily we were there. A suggestion would be that the actual subs are given a home number AND any cell numbers as well to avoid this. This is what we did to avoid repeating with other subs. The roofing team of Larry's was almost mechanical, a well-oiled machine, and it was easy to see as the day progressed how they were able to complete our large house so quickly and efficiently. it was obvious that they had worked well together for a while as they seemed to know step by step who would be doing what and when. I never saw anyone slacking or empty-handed. If they went down the yard with shingles, they came back with trash for the trailer. They maintained my yard and decks very well, without any damage, using huge tarps when necessary. One worker walked around in between tasks picking up errant tacks, that missed the tarps, which I appreciated. I continue to pick up some of these as I would have guessed with this large of a project, many that have since fallen from shrubbery. That is/was not a problem and expected. I did have concerns about cigarette butts and flaming cigarettes thrown from the top of the roof. I didn't begrudge a guy working on my roof a cig, but out here with only volunteer fire protection, it could become a little more serious. Unknown to them, I did pour water in one of my bushes that I noticed continued to "smoke" after a butt flew down. It was okay and I handled it, just a point to think about sometimes. The roofers worked non-stop; I never even saw them stop for lunch. They would snack with one hand, or grab a drink and continue with the job. They were all very courteous and easy to talk with. The couple that worked on our chimney stone did an outstanding job. The stone matched well and the concrete has even dried so that it is difficult to tell which is old and new stone. True stone artists. They were very pleasant as well. No difficulties at all. The gutters at the front entrance look outstanding, matching the metal valley pieces well, making it all look thought out and professional. The plastic drain pipe and drain tray provided looked somewhat out of place with the stone on the front of the house. This was subsequently easily replaced by pieces of leftover stone from the chimney, making it again appear as one seamless idea. We also found a flat drain extension to run behind the shrubs, extending from the downspout that helps with blending in. Mr. Cook even took pictures of this to work into future projects. All in all, this was much less of an ordeal than we had imagined. I would not hesitate to recommend these particular teams from Williams' to my friends.
Description of Work: Removed old roofing, replaced with new felt and new architectural shingles with metal valleys, replaced flashing around chimney and re-stoned missing areas, placed gutters and downspouts at front entry of home and rain diverters over each sliding door on rear of house.

The experience was good. They have a good price and they were professional. They were also prompt. I've got a few water handling issues with how they decided to do the guttering. I didn't really push hard to follow up with them either. Nothing critical, it was just how the water sheds off was not as controlled as I had hoped. It was not brought up as a concern. It did not turn out quite how I hoped it would but it was not enough for me to call over and over again either.

My experience with them was very good. I called them and they came out here. They gave me a quote. They did a good job. The flange around one of the parts of the roof needed to be replaced because it was cracked. He happened to have a flange and so he went up there and replaced it. Had wanted to do the work last Saturday (April 4th) but the weather looked rainy and so it was postponed. They showed up at 7:30 this morning - a total of 8 workers - by 12 noon they were picking up debris and strapping down their equipment on the trailer. Their work was unbelievably quick and yet thorough - seemed like everybody did his thing. I did not step outside during the work so not to get in the way. We are very pleased with the quality of work and material. The courtesy of the workers should also be mentioned - they worked hard and continuous and did not stand around. A mighty good crew - a notice for the owner!. Tomorrow the outside will be pressure washed and gutters installed.

They cut corners wherever possible, the owner has a horrible temper and manners, they do not communicate from top to bottom, and have been working on our project for a month and a half now and are not even close to finished. This is just to repair a section of roof, build a small shed, and put in new carpet for 700 sq. ft. Highly upset with the work done, and the owner tried to go behind our back to the insurance adjuster and charge more after agreeing to the original contract. Always ran out of materials causing them to only work half days. I would not recommend this company to anybody, even my worst enemy. this is only a summary of the problems we have had. There were companies they subcontracted out to that walked off the job because they refused to do the below standard of work that William's roofing ask them to do.
