PALMER'S REFINISHING

Mr. Palmer took this table and restored it beautifully. Although the legs appeared to have been turned on a lathe, the rounded pieces were made in three layers. A few of the out (rounded) pieces were missing. Mr. Palmer made substitute pieces. He cleaned the table beautifully, reassembled it, and at my request, stained it a lightish cherry. He did an absolutely outstanding job and I am thrilled. My sister is visiting from overseas for Christmas and I cannot wait for her to see this piece. The Marthat Washington was in better condition, but He also did an outstanding job on that. I had a limited time frame to get these pieces refinished, and Mr. Palmer gave us priority and was most pleasant to deal with.. I recommend this company completely. ist

Palmer's recently refinished a dressing table that is about 50-75 years old and it now looks brand new! It has scratches and gouges in the top surface, nicks in the legs, and a large white stain on one side of it but those are all gone. The mirror was the original, most likely, and needed to be replaced so Palmer's took care of that for me, charging me only their cost (and even provided me with the receipt from their vendor). I inherited this piece from my grandparents but really didn't know much about the quality of it, but Palmer's was able to determine the type of wood after stripping it and let me know that it is really good quality wood and one that is not frequently used by today's manufacturers. I had the piece stained a slightly lighter color than it originally was. Although we couldn't find a perfect match to the color I wanted on their stain chart, they took a drawer from favorite piece of my furniture and were able to stain it to match that drawer through a multi-step process. I really appreciate that extra effort and attention to detail. I met 3 generations of Palmer men on this job and they were all great to work with. They picked up my piece on a Tuesday (and were very punctual) and returned it to me the following Friday (again, very punctual). I will definitely be calling them again in the future to refinish the 2 dressers I have that are part of a matched set with the dressing table. Before selecting Palmer's, I got a quote from another company I found on Angie's List, but Palmer's had the better price by far and now that the work has been done, I am certain I made the right decision.

Mr. Palmer was very prompt in returning my phone call. He gave me an estimate over the phone. Was on time when he came to pick up the cedar chest. He brought it back in the time he said he would. He did an excellent job. I would recommend him to any of my family and friends.

I was going to have my kitchen cabinets repainted and he completely jumped from talking about my refinished furniture to refinishing my kitchen cabinets for about twice the amount that I had finally found on my own. When I told him I thought he was too high to do those cabinets, he bolted out of here like he was on fire and didn't even discuss with me the refinishing of furniture which is why I originally got him out here. He was rude. It's a big mistake on his part. It was just not a pleasant experience. I have nothing good to say about this man except for he was on time.

I hired Palmers to refinish my kitchen cabinets. They were originally a stained cherry and I wanted them painted white. They use a lacquering process. First let me just say that they were wonderful to work with. They were always on time for appointments and went above and beyond with their service. This is a family run business and unfortunately the matriarch of the family fell seriously ill during the time our work was going on. This did not stop or slow them down in the least. They are true professionals. I trusted this company enough to have them do the major part of the job while we were away on vacation. We came home to perfect cabinets and a very clean home. They called me on Sunday when they knew I would be home to follow up. Great customer service. The cabinets themselves look beautiful. They look as if they were factory finished. I would hire this company again in a heartbeat.

The guys were wonderful!! I can't say enough good things! They took my kitchen table, which had been destroyed by my kids and my accidental acetone spill, and made it look absolutely brand new! It was amazing. They were so courteous and priced extremely well.

They removed the doors and refinished them in their shop. Then they came to my house, masked off the kitchen with plastic curtains and did the cabinets themselves. They were clean, efficient and very responsive to my needs and concerns. They worked very hard to obtain the finish I wanted. They took one door as a test and brought it back several times until I was satisfied. I did not have an easy finish to achieve and the cabinets look beautiful and have held up well. I will be using them in the future for any touch up needed and for furniture.

Refinished the wood, made a new seat for the chair and recovered the seat. In less than a week, the chair was returned to me. Now, I know you will say antiques are ruined if refinished .... for me this was a chair that has been in my family a long time. I wanted to have the chair in my living room and I wanted it to be a nice piece - one that I will give to my granddaughter one day. I am so proud of the chair. I have already referred my sister and a neighbor to Mr. Palmer. My neighbor had a chair fixed and is also thrilled.

They were great, punctual, and efficient and did a beautiful job. He was very descriptive in what he thought he would need to do for the table. He was very specific with what he was going to do. He did everything that he said he would do. He said that he would be here at noon to pick the table up and he was here at noon. He was mannerly and very helpful in making suggestions. I would use them again. I have referred him to two other people, so he is really good.

Palmer's did a fantastic job on the chest! We recently had them refinish a table and some chairs which also turned out great (see my review on that). The morning they were to deliver the table and chairs, I asked my husband if there was anything else we should consider them refinishing. When they delivered the table and chairs that would be a good time for them to pick up the new item. He mentioned this old chest of drawers that we bought for $85 in a junk store when we got married 31 years ago. "What? That? Really? It's probably not worth it." When Palmer's delivered the table and chairs, I asked the fella about the chest and if he said that it was definitely wortj refinishing and it was a good solid piece of furniture. "How do you know?" He said the hardware, the detailing, the drawer construction. "Okay, if it's worth it, go ahead; but I don't want it changed. I want it to still look like itself, just cleaned up." Off they went with the chest of drawers. Because of what they already had in the line up, they said it would take two weeks. Today Palmer's delivered the chest of drawers. It is absolutely GORGEOUS! It still looks like itself so all the memories are preserved, but BETTER! (It has been everything from my husband's dresser, to holding crafts for the kids, to holding home school materials, to holding quilting materials, to holding linen and other kitchen supplies.) I could NOT be more pleased and can't wait for my husband to get home and see it! While the fella was here, he touched up a gouge (probably from my son's watch) in the table they had just delivered TWO WEEKS ago. I've been treating this table like a baby's butt and the son comes to visit for 5 days and knicks it during a meal. Sigh. Appropriate, he put most of the original knicks and dents in the table to begin with. Now the table looks marvelous AND has a new memory! Lol I would definitely recommend Palmer's Refinishing and am considering having another table done ... oh wait TWO tables ... when the time is right. Robin Lancaster

I called and set up an appointment for them to come and give an estimate for the work. They arrived not only promptly at the appointed time (12:30) on a Monday, they were actually 15 minutes early ... almost unheard of! They gave me an estimate and took the chairs and table away stating that they would have them back that Friday. I admit that I was a little dubious that they could get the work done in five days, however, they delivered the finished product on Friday ... again 15 minutes early! On the chairs they replaced a broken spindle and I challenge anyone to pick out the spindle they replaced. It matches perfectly. They also tightened up the remaining chairs and smoothed out some rough areas from scrapes due to moving from TX to NC. They then removed the paint and repainted them in the same color! Marvelous! The only thing they did not do was put a top glaze on them like the original, but I knew they might not be able to do that when they left with the chairs. The table left looking like an absolute mess. It had scrapes, dings, dents, scratches, grooves, and places where the finish had been removed due to something hot sticking to it. A high end piece of furniture was returned with a lovely deep brownish red patina. It looks absolutely fabulous! I admit I was very afraid not having seen their work in person. I decided whatever they returned was better than what they left with. Holy Moly! I was more than impressed. I like what they did with the chairs, but I LOVE what they did with the table! Would I recommend them? In a heart beat. In fact, I like their work so much, they left with another piece of furniture. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Palmers!

C They are wonderful. MR. Palmer is extremely conscientious and courteous . They do beautiful cabinet refinishing and furniture refinishing.

The furniture looked so nice, I've never had such great work for refinishing. It was a father son team that did a wonderful job, we actually became friends during this process. He was careful not to let my dogs out while he was moving the furniture in and out.

Excellent work. Refinished table to brand new condition. Quick turnaround too. Matched existing stain and protected cane insets.

Absolutely beautiful workmanship. The Palmers went above and beyond refinishing and replaced worn felt under table. They take great pride in their work and it shows in every detail of the finished product. Could not be happier and would not even consider using anyone else for refinishing. They are simply the best!!

They were very nice, polite and I enjoyed working with them. My piece did not turn out exactly how I had wished, but that was due to me picking out the wrong color of stain. I will use them again.

I think it was the father and son and they came in and picked it up and they were really delightful people. The table looks better than we first bought it. It's just absolutely gorgeous. We had it probably for about 15 or 20 years and it's just absolutely gorgeous. It's better than brand new. They were characters but they were really great to work with. You could tell that they absolutely take great ownership and pride in their work. I think their price was fair.

They kept appointmens as promised, and did a superb job.

They did an outstanding job. The quality is amazing. They picked up and delivered quicker than anticipated. They cost a bit (not too much) more than other estimates, but they were prompt in everything from returning the call, to giving the estimate, tocompleting the job. Professional, knowledgeable and great quality work.

THE FATHER/SON TEAM ARRIVED RIGHT ON TIME TO PICK UP THE ITEMS. THEY REVIEWD THE PRICES GIVEN ON THE PHONE. THEY EXPLAINED WHAT THEY WOULD DO AND WHEN THE JOB WOULD BE COMPLETED. I RECEIVED A CALL ON THURSDAY THAT ALL WAS DONE AND ON FRIDAY THEY DELIVERED THE ITEMS. THEY CARRIED A COUPLE OF ITEMS TO THE SECOND FLOOR FOR ME. EVERYTHING WAS DONE IN A VERY POLITE MANNER AND WITH PROFESSIONALISM.IN THE TIME FRAME STATED AND AT A FAIR RATE. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE PALMER'S.
