Al is very professional. Always on time and very meticulous. His entire team, comprising of his son and 2 other guys were friendly, courteous and did a great job! I'm very pleased with the finished product. Al goes out of the way to do things that are not even part of the job - he fixed a broken door handle for me! And they love dogs! My dog loved hanging out with them and I felt very comfortable leaving him around them when I was not home!

We will use him for future projects as he seemed like a genuine and honest individual that would turn out quality work.

Mr. Palmer did a fabulous job. He took a 20 something light oak table and turned it into a beautiful "cherry" oak table. The work and detail is beautiful and the table looks better than new. Mr. Palmer arrived when he said he would and delivered the table when he said he would. The price was exactly what we had agreed on. We are VERY pleased with our new table.

The work is beautiful -- everyone who has walked into my house has been amazed at how great these pieces look. They even found a break and repaired it so well that we cannot figure out where it was.

I'm so in love with my new farmhouse kitchen table. I was given a very blond looking farmhouse table that i knew with a little work could be gorgeous. Palmer's did an excellent job sanding and painting my new table! I did a navy color on the bottom and stained the top w/ a dark walnut. They were even able to fill in this decorative crevice to make the top a flat surface. Finally I don't have to try and clean food out of the crevice. They are a super nice duo and can't wait to bring more pieces for them to freshen up!

I have never written a negative review on this site. I had a two part job. I had about 24 panels for an office that needed to be stained. The size and number of panels were known to the company and they provided a quote. When they returned, they stated the job was more difficult than they thought and charged 40% more than the original quote, which I paid. When I called for the second part of the job (finishing trim), I meticulously list the number and size of each trim piece. They provided a quote and took the wood away. A few days later, i was once again called and told the quote was too low and the price would be 40% higher. At that point, I had them return the wood rather than continue to have the prices quoted rise after the material was taken away. I was disappointed with a company that twice changed the price of a quoted job after taking the material from my home. This was not a project with unpredictable issues and a professional should be able to generate an accurate quote on site and then fulfill their obligation.

Al Palmer and his son were fantastic to work with! I initially picked out a color that did not work at all. When they brought the table back to me they could tell immediately I wasn't happy with the color. Without hesitation, they put the pieces back in the truck and helped me pick out a more appropriate color. They delivered the furniture back to me just one week later and it looks absolutely beautiful. I highly recommend them for any refinishing work!

Our beloved dining room table had a bad water stain with discoloration throughout the veneer. The chairs were in even worse shape, with serious sun damage and cracks. But we like them. The Palmers came to the house, inspected the table, warned me that they weren't sure the damage could be corrected, and insisted on taking the leaves too, so everything would match. They were pretty sure they could also fix the chairs, which have a subtle antique gold touch in places.They returned the furniture when they said they would, and the chairs were miraculously restored. Great job! The table was refinished in a satisfactory way and looks very much better than it did. Their work was careful and very skillful. I would recommend them highly.

We had a 1996 kitchen in desperate need of a facelift. The maple cabinets were naturally yellow over time but otherwise in great shape so we really couldn't justify the huge expense of a total replacement. Wow!! Palmer's did an over-the-top job transforming those cabinets. 3 of the cabinets had glass fronts so Palmers re-did the entire inside as well as both sides of each door. You would never know these weren't brand new cabinets and drawers. A family owned business that was a pleasure to work with and professional in every way. They will work with you to get the shade and finish you want. They are prompt and thorough and the disruption in the kitchen (can't be avoided!) was as minimal as they could provide and well worth it. Highly recommend.

They have not delivered the cabinet but I will finish this when the cabinet comes back.

Palmers have refinished or repaired several pieces of furniture for me over the years. They are my go-to guys for furniture repair or refinishing. Always prompt, and professional. Prices are reasonable too.

Palmers did an AMAZING job refinishing my mothers 58 year old cedar hope chest. It looks like new! They were reasonable, professional and great in every way! They even delivered it when it was done. I will definitely call them again for any future refinishing jobs.

Our 100 year old dining room table top needed refinishing, so I found Palmer's on Angies List, called them, got an estimate over the phone and a pickup date. They arrived on time, carefully disassembled it and took the top to their shops. They brought it back when promised, reassembled it, and touched up some spots on the base at no charge. It looks wonderful, the heat stain gone and everything else perfect. Everyone I dealt with was polite and freindly, and I'm very happy with the work they did!

They repaired a small crack in the rocker. Repairs and refinishing were done quickly. They use only a polyurethane finish, so consider this when you are looking for someone to do your work.

They do great work. They are punctual, arrive when they say and deliver what they promise. I have used them several times in the past to redo pieces of furniture that I either bought damaged (but with good bones) or were damaged in my home. Soon I will need them to redo some furniture as my daughter moves into a new home and someone was careless with nail polish remover. I wouldn't think of calling anyone else.

I had a really good experience with Palmer's Refinishing. They were responsive, fast, and reasonably priced. They called me back the same day that I left them a message about the work I needed performed. I spoke with Al Palmer and he clearly outlined the pros and cons of the options (i.e. screwing together vs gluing together) for fixing up my antique piece of furniture that once sat in my great great grandfather's house. The two pieces had a lot of minimal type damage to them from over a hundred and thirty years of use. The Palmer's picked them up on Monday of this week and returned the items completed this morning (Friday). I honestly could not believe they got the furniture looking as good as they did in the short amount of time that they had it (basically 4 days) with all of the other work that I am sure they have in-flight as well. They fixed many blemishes on the pieces, fabricated a decorative piece that was broken off, and stained the pieces to match very closely to the original stain color. The dresser actually had a marble top which had some significant discoloration and stain issues on it. So, I had them fabricate a new wood top for the dresser which looks exactly in shape, size, and beveled edge like the original marble top. The dresser and mirror went from being a unique antique piece of furniture in really bad shape (loose to the point of almost falling apart, faded, stained, etc) to one of the nicest pieces of furniture in my house. If the needs calls, I will certainly do business with them again.

My kitchen cabinets were the subdivision standard: Cheap Thermofoil cabinets plunked on the wall with a gap between the cabinets and the ceiling. Prior to having Palmer's Refinishing replace my cabinets, I hired a carpenter to install a soffit and crown molding above the cabinets, install a built-in bookcase on one end of the lower cabinets, and install shelving to flank one free-hanging upper cabinet. Palmer's Refinishing sprayed the cabinets, doors, and newly installed wood. Unfortunately, the carpenter's soffit overhung the cabinet boxes, and the shelving edges were so rough that the the initial coat of paint did not hide the the irregularities, so the Palmers spent an extra day fixing those problems. Palmer's Refinishing provided the best deal on cabinet refacing. I got other bids and spoke with other contractors, and Palmer's Refinishing was the least expensive. For example, a bid from Home Depot's replacement-door vendor wanted nearly TWICE as much for the same scope of work, but the HD bid did include include carpentry, for which I paid a carpenter separately (about $600). Home Depot's vendor also insisted that the entire job be paid for in advance... and if there was a problem with the work, my only recourse would be to call a manager in Tennessee. In addition, some refinishers have an upcharge for custom paint colors (one outfit wanted $500 extra for custom colors), or they offer no variance from their stock colors, but Palmer's has no upcharge for custom colors. Palmer's Refinishing also offered the best quality. For example, some refinishers' replacement doors are constructed of plywood or pressboard, but Palmers uses solid wood doors. Some other refinishers use interior paint, but Palmer's uses a special paint and sealer that dries in a flash and does not remain tacky. You can use your kitchen as soon as they're finished, which takes about a week. Palmer's Refinishing has an excellent work ethic. They show up when they say they will, and the job took five days, just as they said. They clean up when they're finished. They also pay attention to detail: They installed plastic "stops" so the doors would not bang into the refrigerator or microwave when opened. Palmer's Refinishing is a three-generation, family-owned-and-operated business. They are Southern gentlemen of the old school, and dealing with them was a pleasure. They were prompt, cheerful, and cleaned up after themselves. The finished cabinetry looks great! It's just what I wanted. I'd recommend this business to anyone.
