GFR CUSTOM CABINETS

We hired this company to do the cabinetry for our new custom built home. Most of the main areas such as kitchen, in-law suite, master bathroom, powder room had custom made cabinets. The other rooms had pre-manufactured cabinets. The pre-manufactured cabinets held up pretty well compared to the custom cabinets. We had all sort of issues with the custom cabinets, starting with panels falling out, hinges falling off, and finally one cabinet completely dismantled, and no it was not because we were playing soccer in the house 😀. This was just go to normal usage. H fortunately the quality did not match the custom price.

We initially met with George at his shop. He sat down with us and designed what we were looking for. He was very easy to work with. It took about 4-5 weeks to have the cabinets designed and made. They installed the cabinets on 3/9/15 and went smoothly. We really like the product and service we received. Thank you for a beautiful product.

Every thing went great. Customer service was great, and installers were on time every day, and they left everything spotless when they left each day. Cabinets were made exceptionally well even though I added things they had not seen before but I had seen on Pinterest. Excellent company!

They were very professional, they arrived on time, they listened to what we wanted, and provided exactly what that was in the estimate. I would tell anyone that these people would be well worth their time. We will probably be getting an additional estimate from them just to make sure, I always get three estimates.

They were in my top two choices, but I didn't go with them. The man I spoke to, George, was very nice. I had been talking to him for six months to redo my kitchen. We kept going back and forth about the job. I was on a strict budget. We talked about pull-out and that sort of thing. I wanted George to do the work. He raised his price on me in May, which wasn't a big deal, because there was no contract. It became a bit too expensive for me. He gave me the final quote in July. The problem was that he wanted all of the payment up-front, and he wanted to do the job in the next four weeks. I wasn't sure that would be feasible. At the very last minute, I decided to go with somebody else who was quoting the exact same price for similar cabinets. I highly recommend George. He charges a good price for his product. I think he would be a good person to do the job. It was just a timing and pricing issue.

He does excellent work. His time frame was well done too. He was also easy to work with. He has also done crown molding for us. His pricing I think is very comparable to the style of work he does. I don't feel like it's overpriced at all for the work he's done.

Contacted GFR after referral from another Angie's List company couldn't do the work (looking to replace a kitchen island). First called, after not hearing for 2 days or so, followed up with an email. Received a response to the email after a few days indicating they could do the work and would call to make an appointment the first of the week. Never received a call. Followed up with another email, and never received a response. After 2 week of this, I can't say I'd have much faith in showing up to complete work if they ever did call back. Not a very customer focused way to run a business.

Didn't finish the job, they were supposed to put more shelves in for the VCR and the receiver. Did respond and finished the job nicely.

George came out to the house and stated he would email us his estimate in a day or two. After ten days and no response I called him on his cell phone. He stated he thought he had done the estimate but was not sure. He stated that he would have the estimate to me by email by the next day and I gave him my office email address. As of this report and nine days later, no estimate received and no phone call followup. Very unprofessional.

I contacted this company at 9:30 on Saturday morning and received a return call by 10:00 am. I was told that the work could be completed today if I was available. George arrived on site by 11:00 am and completed the job within 2 hours. The work completed was excellent, and the custom cutting of the laminated countertop that he performed was beyond my expectations.

Frustrating to be advised a company is too busy for you, but then I realize that's life with this type of job. Would have preferred a referral or direction, but again - that's life.

Good price, knowledgeable man. We decided to go with another company, but would not hesitate to recommend for hire.

George was responsive in coming out to view an investment property of mine, actually meeting me the same day I called him. This is rare. He was good, not great, in the timeliness of the quote but it was a decent price. He seems to be a high character guy and I will absolutely get quotes from him on future projects.

OVERALL EXPERIENCE WAS GREAT. VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE, CUSTOMER FRIENDLY, COMPLETED JOB AS QUOTED AND UNDER SCHEDULE. THE ONLY ADDITIONAL COST WERE CUSTOMER GENERATED.

GEORGE IS EXCELLENT. HE IS EXTREMELY PROFESSIONAL, POLITE, ON TIME AND MOST IMPORTANTLY HE STANDS BEHIND HIS WORK. HE CAN DO SMALL HANDYMAN TYPE WORK, AS WELL AS MAJOR REMODELING PROJECTS, AND HE PROVIDES THE SAME SUPERIOR SERVICE ON EITHER SMALL OR LARGE JOB. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM.
