Ladson Fences

Anthony from Ladson Fences was punctual in providing an estimate. They stayed with the project until completion in spite of delays on my part in getting approval from my hoa. The fence is well built and looks great.

Overall good job. New fence looks good with some issues. During teardown and construction I would have preferred they were a little neater and cleaned up better once done (I found nails and plastic corner brackets from fence packaging in yard). What they could have done better: One board installed is split and will need to be replaced, several boards have pulled away from cross member and will need to be retailed/screwed, vertical boards should have been cut 1 to 2 inches above ground to prevent early rot instead of touching ground. Wood not rated for ground contact so clearance is necessary to prevent rot. I have not contacted the company since these issues were noticed and based on my experience with the company I am confident they will fix any problems once contacted.

Robert Lane gave us a good quote that cost much less than the other fence guys (I got 3 other quotes). He came out and put in the posts, which we had to remind him what we wanted a few times. He said he was leaving them for a few days for the concrete to set. Over the next few weeks we had to call and text him many times to see when he was coming out again. A few times he would say he was coming out the next day and wouldn't show up. We had paid him a deposit of half on his initial visit so I didn't want to fire him and not get our money back. He finally came back and took a few days to finish the fence. On the last day here was here I paid him the second half of the payment and he never came back after that. He left some of the gates unfinished and left some tools here. Bottom line, he built a nice fence and was very friendly but you have to keep on him about getting the job done and don't pay him the final check until you have verified that the project is completely finished. Also, make sure you remind him of what exactly you want.

The contractor was on time to do the estimate and on time to perform the work. The work was completed in the agreed upon timeline as well. When we inspected the work upon completion, it appeared satisfactory but he was to return the next day to add the rod that goes in the ground. He did not return as stated and it took two calls to get him back out to complete that last step. In addition, we noticed that materials removed (old fence posts) had been left in another part of the yard. He finally returned to complete those last two thing. The contractor offered to seal the fence if we supplied the materials and was to contact his to complete this work under a separate contract stating that he would give us a call to set that up. We haven't heard back from him since he returned to put that rod in.

Anthony was very patient and professional.We are very particular people,and he did a very nice job on our fence. We are very pleased and would recommend him.

Came 2 days after calling to give a quote. He came back the next day and started the pillars for the double gate. Love that he did them and left the other fence so I didn't have to worry about letting my dog out! Came back a few days later and finished. Very friendly and professional. Would use again!

They did good work for a very reasonable price. They were very pleasant and easy to work with. They were clean, efficient workers who showed up on time and did very aesthetically pleasing work. It was a good crew.

The provider came out quickly when called and completed the job within the week.

I left several voicemail messages with my number requesting an estimate and NOBODY called me back! We found another fencing company. Surprising with all of the good reviews on A.L., that we had to take our business elsewhere.

I called Ladson Fences for an estimate on removing old chain link fence and installing a new one. Anthony Mauldin, Sr. (the owner) came out the next day, gave me an estimate and asked me to call 811 prior to his digging. He done a great job with the fence and clean up. Anthony was very polite and professional, a plessure to do busisness with. I would recommend him to anyone with fencing needs.

Well done. Anthony returned my call, we made an appointment at my convenience (not always possible with contractors), we communicated via email. He came, prepared the estimate, and then completed the contract the same day. Demo'd the fence, and set the posts on Monday, and then was interrupted by the most recent ice-storm. He came back on Friday, built the fence and cleaned up. This was not a huge project, and I appreciated that Anthony gave it his full attention and built a quality fence nonetheless.

I called Ladson Fences for an estimate on January 7. Anthony Mauldin, Sr. the owner personally came out to measure the yard and give an estimate on January 8. He was early for the appointment, very professional, and easy to talk to. He was able to give me an estimate and recommendations for the type of fence we wanted that day. By January 11, Anthony dropped off the written contract and began dropping off materials on January13th. On January 20th, the posts were all installed and concrete allowed to set properly for several days before the picket installation began. We had a few days of ice and school cancellations January 28-30 and Anthony began installing the pickets and lattice promptly the morning of January 31. The fence and gates were completed on February 2nd. We are extremely pleased with the work ethic and final product of our beautiful new fence. Our dogs love it. The gates are sturdy and guaranteed for one year. The craftsmanship and attention to detail are great. I would highly recommend Ladson Fences and plan to use them again to seal our fence in a couple of weeks.

We didn't get a fence included in our house when we bought it 2 years ago, and wanted to be able to let our dog out without a leash. I selected Ladson Fences because of their terrific reviews on Angies List. It turned out to be a great decision; Anthony was very helpful with the design and construction of the fence, and it turned out exactly like I wanted. I was pleasantly surprised when, several months after the original quote, I called Anthony and not only did he remember me, but he still had my quote, and honored the original price even after I changed the design a bit to something that looked better. The posts were installed one day, and over the course of a weekend the rest of the fence was completed. Excellent attention to detail, and exactly what we had arranged, in a timely manner. Can't ask for much more than that!

If you need a fence built, stop searching and call Anthony. Throughout the entire process, he was professional, prompt, and took total care of us. I feel sorry for those who do not use Ladson Fences. Here is how our process went: 1. Estimate - I called the number listed and dealt directly with Anthony, who is the owner. He took our information, and set up a time. He was on time, listened to what we wanted, and gave a very fair estimate. 2. Starting the fence - Due to a rain storm, we were delayed a couple of days. This was not an issue as Anthony called to touch base and wanted to make sure he kept us in the loop as to time frame. His communication was great, which was nice. 3. Building the fence - A day or two before the fence was built, he delivered the materials. He set the post and started the fence two days later, allowing the post to dry. The fence was built in 1 day exactly how we discussed. The gates are very well done and the entire look of the fence has been complimented by many neighbors. Several have actually came to our backyard just to take a look at the fence. I feel sure Ladson Fences will be getting a few more calls based off the quality of my fence. 4. Staining the fence - About 3 weeks after completion, Lasdson Fences will come back and spray the fence with a water seal to protect your investment. This is an extra change but totally worth it. Once again there were no issues with this process. In summary, I can not express how happy I was with Ladson Fences. The quality of their work is unbelievable and Anthony takes care of his customers. Like I said at the beginning, if you need a fence, stop searching and getting estimates. Just call Anthony? you will be glad you did.

I can't hire someone I don't like or trust, so price is not my top concern. I would assume Anthony is competitively priced for the work he does.....yes, He is on the job and doing the work. I was in no hurry, we weren't anxious to get it done and use the pool in December, so Anthony had some liberty with the schedule. After a few pardonable delays, he showed up and "went to town" on it. Once the posts were set, the fence went up in a little over a day. That's a lot of cutting and nailing on a large custom made fence. I'm glad he talked me out of the vinyl I originally asked for, this fence is much sturdier and Anthony did a nice job. I would recommend that everyone in the area should call Anthony to look at their fence work before making their final choice.

Very thorough. Only concern was old fence and debris left around house and in driveway and neighbor's yard. Did a great job and love look of the fence. Thanks also for the dog run fence you brought to contain our dog during construction. Only wish double gate had less wiggle and a little more snug. Great job and would recommend him to others

Very responsive Was quick and professional hung the hardware on both gates the correct way (original fence builder, 10 years ago, had incorrectly installed the gate hardware and hung the gate incorrectly) Ladson Fence hung the gate accurately so that it swings shut, not open. We would definitely recommend this Company.

We called two fence companies on Angie's list for an 8' fence in Historic Summerville, and both came to prepare estimates. Ladson arrived immediately and was even willing to give us a firm quote after 10 minutes. The other (Carolina Fence) never called back with a quote. When we called Ladson to tell them the job was theirs, they went into action immediately, informing us of all permit requirements, hearing dates, contacts, etc. The arrived exactly when they promised, dug and planted the posts one day, and erected the fence the next. Anthony, the firm's owner, was on-site the whole time and came up with very creative solutions to fence around several large trees on the fence line. He consulted us every step of the way. I would highly recommend Ladson Fence. You get a high-quality product at a good price. Hire Ladson Fence. You will be pleased with the results.
