Description of Work: Fogel installed the HVAC in our 4 year old house. During the recent thunderstorms. a power hit caused the heat exchanger to make expensive sounds and we turned it off. A few minutes later, we tried to restart it to no avail. (We had to replace the run capacitor in June) Called Fogel at noon on Friday. They said that they couldn't get out that day, but would be there Saturday. Brian showed up at noon and we turned the system on. It worked. He explained that a thermal cutoff had probably operated and the system returned to normal when it cooled off. He checked our freon levels and capacitor "capacity" while he was there. Then he told us that there was no charge for the visit. This is a number #1 firm.

Description of Work: Fogel's converted my house gas supply from propane to natural gas. They also modified the appliances accordingly. All of the employees were personable and polite, but didn't seem to know what they are doing. (One assured me that the reason the apertures were a different size for the natural gas fittings vs the propane fittings, was because propane was a liquid whereas "natural gas" was a gas! - a bit scary for a person installing something as dangerous as gas). When the initial pipes were installed they leaked, but the Fogel's manager assured me they were "probably" fine. Only when I insisted that the pressure was not holding did the Fogel's technicians come out a second time and detect the leak, which they duly fixed. They also drilled the hole in the exterior wall of the house in the incorrect place to hook up the gas meter the first time. This also had to be redone. | |Everyone in the company was personable, indeed may of the guys seem super nice, but it is quite clear that there is insufficient oversight in this company by people who know what they are doing over the people who don't.

Description of Work: We had asked Fogel to extend the existing gas line for a pool heater connection. They had the opportunity to do the job. But, when they saw the extent of the work, they suggested that it would be too expensive. They agreed that a propane supply would be better for us. We thank them for their exploration and their honesty. They remain our HVAC/gas company.
