 + -1 moreRick of Austin Pools ripped us off. We paid him a 2200.00 deposit and he kept our deposit. 4.5 half months later, he still hasn't refunded our money. He has a history of doing this. He will say he is coming and he never shows up. If I would have researched him on Angie's List I would have never hired him. He is 52 years old and claim to be a Vietnam Veteran (the math doesn't add up). He will rip you off BEWARE.

 + -1 moreworse experience we ever had with anyone we hired for anything. he never showed up when he said he would. id call and he always had a long story why he couldn't he was fixing someone else's pool and would offer a long story about that. this guy took more time telling stories than any work he did. he was supposed to put in a pool liner. ended up he crashed in our pool. then left it there not doing anything for a month. we had already paid him a large portion of the entire cost. we ended up call heritage pools to fix his mess. Rick arrive at my house and broke into my backyard which ended up with the police having to show up. he never reimbursed us for the money we paid him. this man should be in jail, not out taking money from people and not doing what he says. i read his reviews today and found a couple of A's. i would say id bet money they were put there by his friends. even if you have to pay double with someone else, do it! this guy is a must to stay far away from!!!
Description of Work: he was hired to replace the pool liner. what he did was ruin my pool, took months to do it, took my money. and left me with hiring heritage pools to do the job.

 + -1 moreAustin Pools & Spas ripped us off. It took over a year to finish. I called him and he promised to come out the next day but he never showed up. It was an awful experience.
Description of Work: Austin Pools & Spas installed the gas heater for the spa. I never got the covers on the spa.

 + -1 moreThe owner Rick was very knowledgeable and helpful in deciding what needed to be done to bring our pool out of it's dilapidated state. I was a little nervous about working with Rick after seeing the poor ratings here but our experience was nothing but wonderful. Rick was always on time, worked long days, kept the area super clean and kept us informed at all times, and his workmanship was top notch. Our pool and the deck are beautiful. This experience was among the best we've ever had and I highly recommend Rick for your pool services.
Description of Work: We had a 12 year old inground pool with cracked steps, a leaking liner, and a boring cement deck. We had Rick replace the stairs, liner, filter, and apply kool deck and paint the brick steps and apron around the back of the house to the pool.

 + -1 moreI have had good luck with these guys. They worked on my above ground pool when no one else would. They put a lot of work into it and got it sparkling blue again. They replaced several parts for me when I couldn't do it myself. I would definitely use them again. My only complaint about them is that they are slow to respond to messages and sometimes miss appointments, requiring me to call them and reschedule. Otherwise, I had a good experience with Austin Pools.
Description of Work: I had the pool filter replaced in April '12. I have also had the pool cleaned by them several times.

 + -1 moreRick (the owner) never shows when he says he will, he constantly puts jobs off, he lies and should not be trusted.Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere I finally cancelled his contract after he caused $3000 worth of damage to my pool.I will be suing him.
Description of Work: I paid to have a new pool liner installed.

Description of Work: Beware..... I contracted for the pool in Feb 10 for a completion date of April 10.. We were not able to use the pool till end of July 10. At that time, it still was not complete, no salt generator (he was throwing clorine blocks into the skimmer), no cool deck, no cover as was contracted and most paid for. There was almost a year of constantly missed appointments, excuses, ignored phone calls, verbally abusive responses when I finally did have contact. The pool sits almost 3 inches crooked, the handrail is not stable, the light was not grounded, the pool was set too high into the yard causing me to spend another $1700 for a retaining wall on 3 sides. He knew that at the start, but waited till I had no choice but install it. Hired a lawyer to get him to complete the job (almost $1k) , ended up settling at a loss of almost $2000 just to get the generator in and him out of my life. The generator was not installed properly, finally had to hire another contractor to complete the job and to install a gfi for the light....Beware....
