Until Hart, I had been overcharged by other roofers for repairs that totally failed. Hart fixed what the others could not, and took care of a non roof repair need prior to the sale of my home. When we moved to our new home home, I noticed old water stains on the screened porch. Hart came to the rescue! Just looking out the third floor window at the compacted gutters, piles of leaves and other debris caused an OMG moment. The two of us accessed the roof through the window and discovered that years of neglect had caused serious roof damage... damage that was not even hinted at by our pre-purchase Professional home inspectors -ACE Preferred Inspections. A new roof section, and two replaced rafters, later, Hart had solved the problem and picked up a much needed by me twice a year gutter cleaning contract. They may be a tad expensive, but worth every penny...

They original proposal unreasonably requested for half the money upfront which they latered modified to draw process. I found their work very expensive and not up to par on skill level they claim be. Also they will criticize the existing work around them as inferior. During the process they keep coming back with change orders increasing the cost of project on items they failed to catch in their initial proposal. We had problems with the work performed with the vertical spacing of the siding being uneven, damaged corners, irregular gaps, face nailing being driven into siding and Hart had prepainted my Hardi Plank siding at their shop on John's Island and allowed spacer strips to stick to the siding causing damage the factory cedarmill finish. Tried to claim I was unreasonable and refused to replace the siding when I tried to address these issues. Hart's Roofing and Sheet walked off the job...throwing the final bill at me. I later found out because of the quality of the work performed regarding the siding here that I can have buckling, caulking failures and water intrusion into my home I brought in a licensed Home Inspector who not only certified that siding was poorly hung but that a lot the expensive copper flashing was also poorly installed and needs to be redone by another different, qualified expert. This is probably the worst experience I've ever had with a contractor or company. Complete failure to address my issues and concerns as a customer. I found their agreements poorly written and scope of work vague. Additionaly they tried to claim that they are not subject to a licensed home inspector...I found that the whole process with this contractor an extremely and uneccessary waste of a lot my money. They also damaged a lot my existing windows during the siding removal and the installation of unnecessary vertical copper flashing around our windows. I feel like I've trade one problem for another one here.
