Our contract was for $1100 which is a bit steep for the amount of labor and material, but we decided to let TIm do the work anyway. Our only reference was Angie's List, and people had given positive reviews. Against my better judgment, I gave him $300 up front to cover cost of materials. That was in November 2013. Weeks later after we had not heard from him, we attempted to contact Tim but his phone number had been disconnected. After nearly 4 months, we were able to make contact. He apologized for being late, he admitted to having spent our money to repair his car, but he wanted to complete the job. He spent a few hours painting over wood which was supposed to be replaced. Not only did he not replace the wood, he didn't even sand or prime it. He did apply putty over the rotted wood so that he could apply the paint. Upon performing this work, he began leaving a series of messages on our voicemail, demanding that we pay the balance immediately. We traveled 2 hours to the site to meet him, and we discovered the nature of his poor workmanship. When we told him that the work was improper, he became upset. He was unable/unwilling to talk through the issues, and became upset and walked away, threatening that he was going to "serve papers". After Tim left the site, we called the local police because of Tim's behavior. When the policeman arrived, he briefly inspected the workmanship and agreed that the work was lacking. The policeman called Tim to ask about the issue, and Tim replied that he was going to hire a lawyer. I feel bad for the guy because he seems down and out, and I am willing to pay the agreed upon price if he were to fulfill the agreement and do a good job. Obviously, the people who commented earlier were either referring to a different person, or Tim has fallen into a difficult stage of life circumstances. I wish Tim the best, but I want to make others aware of our experience.
Description of Work: He was supposed to replace some wood around the house, sand and paint.

He is flexible on when he can do it. He does interior and exterior. The price is reasonable.
Description of Work: I use Tim Taylor for painting. He painted the ceiling in my bedroom and built a ramp for my shed.
