I set up an appointment late at night and got an early phone call the next morning , the office was very friendly and said someone would be out around 9:30 am. We arranged for them to call before they came. . No phone call no other contact information, they arrived around 8:00 am. One guy who looked like an office person and someone who I doubt spoke English, I didn't here him say anything, he just nodded his head when the other guy spoke. I did not get any contact names when they arrived. They wanted to do more than what was needed to fix my problem. Since this has been a problem for a couple of days they must have thought I was desperate to get it resolved and that was reflected in the price they wanted to charge.

There was a technician that came out. He made an inappropriate comment to my wife. We would never be using them again. I would rate them an F. They came out exactly when they said they would. There were two guys. One of them was very professional and the other one made an inappropriate comment to my wife when I wasn't there. I will definitely never be using them again. That $50 was for the service call. I actually called them and tried to get a refund. They didn't complete the work.

They determined it was the disposal. They quoted me about $450 to put a new one in. I asked for a breakdown between the disposal and labor and they would not do that. They would only give me the one price. I won't do business that way and thanks but no thanks. I paid only for the service call which was $49 with the coupon. Home depot installed one for $238 all in. So their price policy is what I objected to. It's nice to know there are other sources besides plumbers that charge an arm and a leg for basic stuff. They were nice and professional about it though. I would have done it myself normally but it's a tenant occupied house and I live 400 miles away.

Way too expensive. 1.5 hours work for $5 part and that leaves over $500 labor. I don't think so. I called a friend of mine whose family owns a plumbing business but they are too far away to service my area. She estimated they'd charge $200 tops for same service. I will not call on them again due to price. I will say receptionist who answered phone was very friendly, they offered same day service call, and gentleman who came to the house was kind and professional.
Description of Work: I got a quote for to change out one toilet to a new one (I had the toilet) and another toilet that had a leak (needed $5 part- Wax ring). Was told this would take about 1.5 hours.

15 yr old natural gas 50 gal water heater gave out and started leaking big time at 5am Wed morning. No hot water. Gas provided by SCE&G. Called Meetze plumbing, since we use them exclusively for all plumbing needs. Said they'd work us in. I lost a day at work waiting on call. Initially told around or after 2pm. Called at 3:30pm, told that they would be there by 7pm. Showed up at 6:30pm. Worse customer service ever. Lead plumber Lynn walked into garage and cavileirly announced "you're not getting a unit installed tonight." Gave me attitude. Simply stated that had I known Meetze couldn't handle type unit I needed - earlier in the day - I could have made adjustments and work arrangements. But here I was at 7pm, no water heater and no options. Lynn was kind enough to offer up a $3k tankless unit that could be installed that evening. I asked them to leave. Called Meetze office at 7:30pm, told them about experience. Indifferent customer service on phone closed it for me. Told them we will never do business again w Meetze. Called SCE&G - they were great!!! They could have someone there Friday to replace gas water heater unit, rep named Miss Artise was absolutely the best SCE&G employee ever, she pushed application thru, arranged for install, kept calling my wife and I back to update us on status, got me in touch with West Columbia Webster Plumbing who did install for them. Install was great, plumber was professional and quick. Friday at 5pm we had hot water. Happy family. Much cheaper than Meetze quotes too!!! Oh, did I mention SCE&G gave me 36 mo interest free on the water heater? Money!! Cautionary tale: Sometimes the big companies work harder to keep your business than the mom and pop shops. I'm proud of SCANNA and SCE&G on this one. Good people. Good company.

This is the second time I have called Meetze Plumbing for a quote on a significant job at my home. Some time ago it was to quote a tankless water heater purchase and install. Today, it was to quote the install of a new gas service line to a gas range. Given their reputation, I decided to give them a chance at the work. In both cases I was told there would be a service call charge to quote the job. I completely understand if they can fill their plate with emergency work and keep revenue flowing to pay for their ads with service call charges and emergencies. That is their prerogative. I just hope they they are weighing that against the revenue and customers they are sacrificing by not being willing to quote the big elective jobs. Then again, perhaps they know they cannot compete on these large jobs. Either way, I doubt I will give them another chance.

I did my homework on Angies list as always and selected a few A lister service providers along with another plumber who came by to do some home warranty work. Meetze came by at the stipulated time of the appointment and did the estimate and also invied me to come along under the house with a suit to review the plumbing condition as well. Cory was very professional and and did cut me a break on installing the hot water heater as well since the technicians had to disconnect toe copper lines and replace them with PEX. The quote arrived on Monday via email and I accepted the price as quoted and the work was scheduled for a week later. The technicians showed up the following Monday morning after picking up supplies and spent the day fabbing the lines for the PEX. Day two they returned and shut off the water and installed a master shutoff along with the new PEX tubing and hot water heater and all went according to plan. Dawn was on top of things with real times updates and status as well since I work remotely. I want to thank them for being professional, ontime, on budget and doing world class work without any go backs!!! Keep up the good work and look fwd to future business hopefully on scheduled Mods and upgrades though!!! LOL :-) A++ Guys

On the day of the appointment , I was at work. I received a call to inform me Meetze was at my home to perform the inspection. After a few minutes, the technician called to explain that some repairs were needed. He quoted me a price which I agreed to. The work was performed and the technician called when the job was complete and explained all he had done. A receipt was left with summary of work performed and cost breakdown. Meetze was professional from the first call to make an appointment until the work was completed and satisfactory.

overall, good. very responsive and quoted price prior to work. worker was attentive and respectful. two things that weren't that great: --it's literally a 15-minute job, not counting the digging (I did a small part of it), at $211; kind of pricey; --before connecting/gluing the burst pipes, worker was supposed to flush the dirt out, but he didn't. as the result, the pipe was clogged and no water came through. He had to spend more than 30 minutes to clear it; but again, overall it's good.

I have used them three times within the past three months. It didn't take them long at all -probably less than 30 minutes each time they came. They always had two people. It was working really well when they left. I think that plumbing is way over priced for the amount of time they spend doing it. One of the leaks was inside my house and they sent someone out almost immediately.

It was a nightmare. I am sure that Meetze performed the replacement of the kitchen pipes properly, but that was never the source of the wet grout in the first place. Had the problem been diagnosed on their first visit, we would not have sustained major water damage which resulted in an extensive homeowners claim and an entirely new kitchen tile floor. When Rainbow Restoration came out the following day, they were under the impression that Meetze Plumbing was paying for their services. They were pleasant and professional, but when they learned Meetze was not claiming responsibility, they told us the estimate was over $1,500 and we had to guarantee it. I personally phoned Mr. Meetze, the owner, who said that figure was ridiculous. He had, of course, not viewed the situation. He put me in touch with an associate who does water damage and carpet cleaning, who he said could fix it cheaper. This person, as well as Rainbow, was very pleasant to deal with and he tried. But after 2 weeks, he was unable to fully dry out the flooring and referred me to another restoration/remodeling company, Palmetto Design & Renovation. This company was excellent to work with, but it still took them almost 2 more weeks to dry the wood with the use of industrial water removal pumps and the large tile floor had to be removed to accomplish this. Of course it was now a major homeowners claim, requiring a new kitchen tile floor as well as the drying/restoration process, which no doubt far, far exceeded the original estimate Mr. Meetze found so offensive. In his defense, Mr. Meetze did eventually refund us the $1,000 we paid for pipe work which did not correct or locate the water leak, but we had to spend an additional $2,500 out of pocket for our insurance deductible. My complaint with this company is two-fold. 1. The original person Meetze sent was interested in selling lots of new piping, water heaters, etc. and never examined the adjacent dishwasher to see if the leak was coming from there on the initial visit. 2. In trying to contact Meetze about financial responsibility, I repeatedly had to speak with the CFO who was all about claiming no part in legal responsibility. In fact, between his fear of lawsuit and the plumber's inability to even look at a dishwasher, it is obvious that they practice "defensive" plumbing rather than friendly, satisfaction-driven work. I only wanted restitution for our expense, not any legal redress. I will certainly avoid this company in the future due to that impression. I was surprised at this company as they had previously done work for us on one occasion and, though expensive, they did a good job.
Description of Work: They came promptly in response to wet grout on kitchen floor. Went under house and found no active leak, no leak in cabinet, but recommended replacement of pipes leading up to kitchen sink to "correct any problem" which might be the reason. We okayed the full package & they performed the work in a pleasant manner. They said it would take awhile for the grout to dry out. In 2 weeks time the grout was only wetter. Called them back out and they found the subflooring under kitchen area was soaked. This crew was NOT pleasant. They acted like it was our fault. Evidence of mildew and mold was present. They recommended calling Rainbow Restoration to remove the water damage. They contacted them for us. Neither the first crew nor this crew examined under the dishwasher, but at my insistence, they finally took the panel off and found the source of a very bad leak and the original problem which by now had soaked much of the kitchen flooring and subfloor. They claimed they were not allowed to do any work with a dishwasher, but I was not asking for dishwasher repair, only to locate the source of leaking water!! Failure to do so resulted in thousands of dollars and much inconvenience, as detailed below.

The hot water heater was descaled to correct a lengthy heat-up time and the occasional cold water interruption during a shower. We did not find that this helped very much. The technician did recommend a larger gas line, to be installed by our gas provider, but this required an additional $400 in services by the plumber and would have increased our monthly gas usage fee.

Customer service was excellent. I was able to get in touch with their office right away, even on a Saturday, and they had a guy to our house that afternoon. They called to let me know he was on his way, and he arrive shortly after the beginning of the three-hour window of time I had been told when I called. The tech was courteous and explained what had gone wrong with our leak. I was taken aback by the price, however. It cost us $160 to get two supply lines under our sink replaced, a repair I could have done myself with a set of pliers. The repair took all of five minutes. Other than than the cost, I would recommend Meetze.

What an amazing company! If there's a problem, they can usually be there the same day to check it out, and if there's an emergency, they come immediately! The folks who talk to you on the phone when you first call them about a problem or need are plumbers, not just receptionists, so they can talk knowledgeably with you right away about you need. We've worked with Dawn many times now, and she is so great to work with! If it's an emergency, they will send someone right out. If it's not, they will schedule a very skilled estimator to come out and discuss what you want done, and once they give you an estimate, they stick with it... no slippery add-ons! Any time we had a problem or question about what they were doing, they always made it right with us, until we were satisfied. They will offer the "immediate quick fix", but are also careful to explain if anything more extensive is necessary or recommended. At first, all we thought was needed was a replacement of the drain and sewer lines, because our drains were slow. They worked with me on dates for the work to be done, and at first they estimated that just the sewer and drain lines would take 3 days. When they got here, they figured out a more efficient way to do it that involved a LOT less digging and disturbance of the yard, and they were done in one day! Then we found a leak in the supply lines, so we added a re-do on supply pipes to the house. Since they'd already scheduled the time, they just went ahead and did it ! And since the original job took so much less time than they had estimated, they gave us a fair break on the price for the entire job.The cost was significant, but very reasonable for what they did, and they left the house as if they'd never been here... except for the new pipes!.(with wonderful water pressure and nice fast-flowing drains!) We are ABSOLUTELY happy with the big job Meetze did on our house. Everything works perfectly. Any time we need a plumber in the future, we will call Meetze! You won't be disappointed.
Description of Work: Put new sewer line and water supply lines outside of house, replumbed entire house, including supply and drain lines and some fixtures . Updated entire plumbing system to current code. Relocated sewer cleanup to outside of house.

Called Meetze about a burst water pipe that was spewing water over the lawn. They responded promptly (less than 45 minutes). They told me the cost of the repair ($435) and asked if I wanted a service agreement ($90). Service agreement includes a yearly inspection, priority service, and 10% discount on pricing. I agreed to both. While one individual set about repairing the broken valve, the other one inspected all water lines and the 2 water heaters. He found one pipe connection that showed a lot of corrosion and suggested I replace it now or in the near future before it broke. I had him fix it also ($200). $30 was deducted from total cost for either getting a service agreement or because I said I had gotten their name from Angie's List. The repairmen were very polite and upfront about all costs. I would highly recommend Meetze Plumbing.
