The paint has faded to a horrible color. We have had to major repair costs since the coating was applied including replacing windows. Liquid Ceramic is a joke. They do not stand behind their warranties.
Description of Work: Complete exterior wood repair and coating.

Steve was a charming representative of Liquid Ceramics when he came for the initial interview and during the painting process. He assured me that, no matter how many times he needed to correct something or find the right color, he would be there. He gave several examples of customers that it took several tries to get a certain color the way they wanted it. As we checked behind him, he would redo areas we pointed out that were not done correctly. He used our small dining set that we kept on the screen porch and got paint all over the table and chairs, but he did clean it up so that no paint was left. Since that time, we have called several times to get him to bring touch-up paint or to come out and correct work that did not hold up, such as: nails that were to hold the molding to the screen and keep the screen in place were so short that they came out and we had to re-nail all around the screen porch; the paint on the floor of the screen porch has not held up and has come off in some areas; the gutters were painted half-way down which we did not notice until the shrubs were cut and one gutter was not painted at all; one window had some rot which was supposed to be fixed before painting but was not. The first time I spoke with them after work was done, he assured me that he would stop by to get the color matched and fix the area. After a year went by and Steve had not show up, my husband called, spoke to him and told him the same thing. He assured him that he would be right out to get a match on the paint and complete the work. We have not seen him nor will he return our calls or answer the messages we left on his answering machine. We would NEVER recommend Steve Campbell/Liquid Ceramics to anyone!
Description of Work: Steve Campbell/Liquid Ceramics was hired to paint the outside of our house which included the following areas: Soffits, fascia, gutters, shutters, windows/frames, windows/sashes, doors, garage doors, dormers, vents, bay window, screen porch: ceiling frame, porch floor, access door, lattice and rails The contract also said that he would install new screen on the screen porch, repair squirrel damage and replace brick molding on the right side of the garage door.

It has been a horrible experience. We could not believe they would not stand behind their product.
Description of Work: My husband and I wanted to invest in a product that would prevent the need of house painting every 8-10 years. We contacted the local Liquid Ceramics by the listing in the local yellow pages and made an appointment with him to give us an estimate for the coating and we discussed in detail the pros of applying liquid ceramic versus ordinary paint. Our home is cedar siding and we were assured that the liquid ceramic would last for a minimum of 25 - 30 years. After only four years, we started noticing that the color was changing on our trim. After five years, we started notices rotting wood and had to replace a large picture window and the railings on a porch. We have since notice rotting wood on the corner trim of our home. We contacted the original contractor (Dave Elledge). He came by and agreed that he needed to do some repairs to the wood and that the paint had oxidated and needed to be recoated. He said he would make arrangements to make the repairs but we never heard back from him. We made numerous additional attempts to have the defects corrected but to no avail. We then contacted the district distributor (Tom Alsop) who informed us that Dave Elledge was no longer a contractor with them and we needed to contact the new local contractor, Steve Campbell. Of course, we did contact Mr. Campbell and he said he would talk with Dave Elledge. Of course, this went nowhere. We have been going back and forth for over three years trying to get our house repaired. It would be hard to believe that we are the only ones that have been so devastated by spending so much money only to learn that that all the advertising the Liquid Ceramics have made is false. A foot note: Mr. Elledge advised that the only way the coating would be warranted was if he power washed the home, removing all existing paint then replace all defective wood. We spent $3,100 for the repairs.

They did a good job. My only issue was that the storm windows were not replaced clean, but when I mentioned it, they were taken down, cleaned, and reinstalled. I think they did a good job and clean-up. I have no errant paint on shrubbery or brick. I didn't get a guarantee though, at least not a paper copy of one.
Description of Work: (I'm not sure of the exact date of service because I didn't put it on my calendar.) They scraped, pressure-washed, and prepped the house (1800 sq ft) and even pressure washed the brick. They removed and replaced all windows and painted the woodwork.

On 9/7/09 we had Steve Campbell give us a quote to paint all exterior wood on our house with Liquid Ceramic paint. Since most of the trim we have is vinyl, it was a small job. The quote was $600. He said he could do the work in the first or second week of October. We waited. We also had a alot of work done on the interior of the house by other contractors so waiting, at that point, was no big deal. However, we waited and waited and waited for Steve to set up a date to start the job. We then saw him at a local home show in mid March. He said he was behind on his jobs because of the lousy winter. It's true; we did have a bad winter. However, it doesn't excuse his lack of contact with us. He promised to call us on March 26. On March 24 he called and said that 'if everything worked out' he could come out the next day and do the pressure washing and then do the painting on the weekend. He never came out on 3/25 and didn't call. Enough was enough. We waited for over 6 months for him and I called today (April 1 2010) to cancel the job request. He didn't seem upset in the least and said "Okay, that's fine." I can't comment on the paint itself only on the lack of professionalism. Getting a quote was easy; getting the work done was not. Even if he had called me and wanted to start the work I probably would have told him not to. The lack of contact and follow through lead me to think he would 'start' the job by cleaning the surfaces but I didn't trust that he would come back and do the actual painting.
Description of Work: No services were performed; only a quote.
