Everything was pretty great.
Description of Work: I did use J G's Custom Cabinetry. I had them come up a few times. First time we had them do roof and the chimney, another time we had them do the whole kitchen and the last time was the back deck.

The owner, Mr. Gilbert, was very nice, and tried to accommodate us with any issues we had. The problem is that we had many issues. During one visit, we had 16 items to be addressed. We wanted: some new cabinets, paint existing cabinets, move pantry, extend the island, add granite countertops, replace sink, add pull outs to cabinets. The problems incurred: (1) the floor was scratched in two places by a saw because one of the workers didn't remove the doors to do work. Instead he used the saw, and went into the floor. (2) Instead of matching existing cabinet design, they replaced all doors and drawer facings. The drawers now have no design, and there are router marks on the doors. (3) The granite was dropped and now the entire floor must be refinished. This wasn't a JG employee, but JG's picked and used this contractor. (4) The ceiling was to be repaired where the existing cabinets were originally. It was repaired with spackle (a popcorn ceiling). (5) There were massive brush strokes in the paint job. We actually paid someone else to come in and redo the ceiling and paint for the entire kitchen. (6) The new cabinet doors were to face each other and the pullout was supposed to be the width of the two doors. Instead, all doors faced the same way, and the pull outs are less than 12" wide (not ideal for big pots and pans). As a result, we have less storage now than we had before. (7) When the pantry was put up in the new area, there were nails coming in through the sides, and were where you could cut yourself if you reached in close to the side. (8) When they reinstalled the spice racks on the pantry doors, the nails came through the front of the door and was left there. (9) We asked for two outlets to be installed. One was ok; the other was installed on the wrong wall. (10) The doors and drawers are still not level, and don't open/close smoothly. The cabinets were actually better quality prior to the re-work. The pull down drawer in front of the sink still doesn't work properly (it did before the renovation). The worker told my husband that we would have to give it an extra push to close it because it couldn't be fixed. In JG's defense, as stated before, he was very perceptive to the problems we had, and tried to correct the problems in a timely manner. However, the quality of the guys working for him didn't match his eagerness to make things right. And he did start the job within two weeks of providing our estimate. I like the owner, however, I will never use him again because of his labor pool. It was one of those jobs where everything went wrong. These things happen, and I understand that. But I didn't get what I asked for either. And Mr. Gilbert did give us a list of references when he provided the estimate. It was our error in not following up on them.
Description of Work: He helped remodel our kitchen.
