My background is in engineering and construction, I have been inspecting for 15 years and have performed over 6000 inspections both residential and commercial. I am the only inspector in my company and I answer the phone. I will take payment by credit card, check or at closing. As a certified member of the American Society Of Home Inspectors(ASHI) I preform inspections in accordance with the State Standards and ASHI Standards.
The home inspection went very smoothly and we were very impressed with the level of service provided. The report was clear and very comprehensive. He spent about 3 hours at the home we were buying and fully inspected everything inside and out and then met with us to explain all of the findings. He was available for questions and was very professional. I have already recommended him to several coworkers purchasing homes and they were equally pleased. We have been in our new home 2 months and have not discovered anything he missed.

While seemingly thorough, his well-written missed several key items. I called to complain about those items, and he touted that everything and quot;had been done to the standard practicesand quot; (which he offered to email me for my reference). It may well have been completed according to SC standard practices, but... The oven was evidently once infested with mice (gross!) There were hundreds of feces behind the unit and insulation was contaminated with mouse urine which off-gassed ammonia when the oven was first used. Ugh!!! (He tested it to see that the element heated, but never actually heated it to any degree) The cabinet below the kitchen sink was visibly severely damaged with water. (Hello!) Several light switches are completely disconnected (attached to nothing!), and The wall behind the drain pipe underneath the bathroom sink is NON-EXISTENT. The and quot;walland quot; was instead only a piece of wallpaper. Shame on me for not checking after his work. But I operated under the presumption that this fellow was working for the buyer. Do not trust this inspector to be as thorough as you might suppose, as if he were buying the house to live in himself (as if he were actually looking out for you and not strictly holding to standard practices.) .A painful lesson, but do not be fooled by the moniker and quot;Absolute Inspectionand quot;; it does not refer to the depth of his skills, only that he will do absolutely nothing more than what are in the standard practices. Note: he was lauded as being a good man of faith, but I never got the Golden Rule vibe from this fellow. Just sayin'...

Response from Absolute Inspection Service LLC
In response to the posting on July 15 2013. I performed a home inspection for this gentleman in the summer of 2013, I found thousands of dollars worth of repairs that I understand that he was able to have the seller repair. I also explained in the report the limitation of the home inspection report which includes pest infestation, only visible conditions and present defects are reported and any area concealed is not reported because it is not visible. He was provided a pest infestation report by a pest control contractor. 1. “Mice urine on the range” is beyond the scope of this inspection. 2. “Leak under the kitchen sink”, this client admitted that he did not see a leak under the sink before closing either. 3, “Wall paper covering a hole in the wall under the enclosed area under a bathroom sink”, this was not visible. 4. “Light switches that did not operate anything”, I did not find any switches that did not operate anything at the time of the inspection. The items listed in the complaint were not visible, not present or beyond the scope of a home inspection as defined by the state standards of practice and in the report he received. Finally the poster made comment about my “faith”. That, I have a real problem with. I have performed over 6000 home inspection and am considered one of the most credentialed and detailed inspectors in the area of South Carolina and North Carolina. My web site explains my credentials and has a sample report, check it out. www.absoluteinspectionsc.com
