Southern Maintenance Services replaced three electrical outlets in our condo and walked away with our three unique, custom wall plates. When confronted Rickey Hicks rudely stated that he wasn't told to leave them. Well he wasn't told to take then either. Our property was not returned. I do not recommend.

My experience was pretty good. I like their dependability. Actually, I have used them before and they worked fine.

They showed up when they said they would. The crew was polite and went out of their way to provide a very high quality of work. Work performed exceeded our expectations.

He was very nice though. He seemed very knowledgeable. He was very polite and a very nice gentleman. I thought he was wonderful; it just took him too long to get back to me. He said he was really busy. He was supposed to get back to me in a couple of days. I mean, I get that. In terms of punctuality, he was right on time. I might go back to him for a quote in the future although I really like this guy a lot.

All of my belongings were carefully carried into my townhouse with nothing broken or damaged at all. They were WONDERFUL!

I called southern services because of the positive review here on Angies List. The person came out to talk to me about several things that needed doing, but the most pressing was a large hole in the wood framing of the sliding glass door. It was wood rot and growing larger every day with water and bugs coming in. He said he would come back the next day to do it. While he was there we went over other work that needed doing: remodeling the master bath, fixing the screen door, removing old film from a window, and putting weather stripping around the sliding glass door. He said he would e-mail an estimate either that day or the next morning and come to fix the wood rot problem the next day. I never heard from him again.

The guy did not please me at all. This guy looked at the stuff and never gave me an estimate. I told him that I was kind of anxious and he said to get somebody else because it was too small of a job. He wasn't interested in a small job and I had a hard time even having him get back to me. He was an old dude and I don't think he was interested. He was responsive and he did come. He was punctual. I wouldn't use him again.

I have used these guys for years for my rental properties - they do a minimum $35 per call, but for fixing a leaking toilet or clearing a garbage disposal, they're under half of most plumber's minimum charge. They also don't charge extra for weekend or after-hours calls. I had them replace deck on one of my units last year, and the work was really good. So, when I bought a home that had been foreclosed on, I had them come back and fix it up the way I wanted. They scrapped the ceilings in my great room, repaired some damaged parts, took apart the fireplace and rebuilt it, put new granite counter tops in the kitchen, put in tile in the kitchen, and added insulation. They hit the deadlines we discussed, I felt like I was updated through the whole project, and the bill was what we had agreed to. I would highly recommend them, and I still have them on speed dial if something goes wrong in my house.
