Mr. Kelly was able to come the same day that I called. He promptly repaired the problem toilet, then checked our other plumbing. Two toilets had corroded interior mechanisms so he replaced them. Everything works fine now. He was very pleasant and very professional.

Replaced worn out part and all the bad smells are gone :)

Mike went out of his way to quickley respond to fix my toilet. I put in an email request late Thursday night he called early Friday morning and squeezed me in late Friday to repair running toilet. He was professional,and had the parts and know how to fix a Sloan Flushmate pressure assisted system.

They were very prompt in replying to me and prompt in finishing the work. They are professionals that I would not hesitate to recommend for plumbing work.

Mike came over the day I called to replace my defective thermostats on my water heater...he did it fast and efficiently and at a reasonable cost. He also did a quick fix of a broken sink handle and gave a tip about our kitchen sink faucet that will save us money in the long run. Came in, did the job fast and right and left. Great!

Mike was very good to work with! His son, Jacob, is also in the business, and both of them are exceptional and extremely professional. I would highly recommend him.

It went perfectly. We had a 40 gallon water heater but we wanted a 50 gallon one and the space we had was really small. Somehow they worked their magic and got the 50 gallon to fit in that spot. He had to do some engineering in this area to make it fit. He really did a great job of getting that water heater in. It works perfectly. He also did one thing extra that I was very impressed with. He installed the filter for the icemeaker and water heater on the same day; then he called me back a day later and said he wasn’t satisfied with the way he installed the filter and he wanted to come back and install a cut-off valve for no charge.

I have recommended them to friends whom had similar experiences.

Mike Kelly was very nice. He recommended a glass company for the shower and they came in for that work. Mike’s plumbing bill was somewhere between $400 and $500, including all the fixtures and everything. His is a father and son company. The father came out for this work. His son had installed a garbage disposer for us in the past. They are very personable. Mike talks a little too much. He is a real talker, so am I and we get along very fine. I thought he was very nice. We were very satisfied with them.

He was here for about four hours, charged us $400, and did everything to our satisfaction. He seemed proficient, he got out here in a very timely manner, he did the work that I asked him to do, and he checked to see if there was anything else that he could do. He just loved to talk, he was very friendly, and he did good work. He called me back within an hour or two and he was here at the time that he said he would be.

(PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE REVIEW. IT IS WORTH THE READ.) I am extremely happy to share my experience with KELLY & SONS PLUMBING INC, because I genuinely believe that it speaks volumes to the integrity and professionalism of this particular plumber. I came to Angie's List (and joined!) yesterday because I was in desperate need of a plumber. I read all the reviews of all the plumbers in my area (Hilton Head, SC), for I did not know whom to call. My fear was, especially with my particular situation, that the final bill would be large. Naturally, I wanted to find someone I could trust. I called 3 different plumbers and explained my emergency (backed up sewer). The first two plumbers listened to me describe my situation, and then shortly thereafter, gave me their estimates. In both cases, the first two plumbers estimate for the "emergency" problem was in the $200+ area. Their next estimate (since this was not the first time the sewer backed up and I had an idea of what the problem was) dealt with the breaking open of my concrete driveway, fixing the sewer problem, and then repairing the driveway. In both cases, the plumbers would not be able to give an estimate until they actually "saw" the driveway. This would be in the neighborhood of $1,500-$2500 (this was told to me by another plumber who was here the first time I had this problem). In my view the $200+ estimate, as well as the driveway estimate, were reasonable. Fair enough. Then I called KELLY & SONS PLUMBING INC and once again explained the situation. After I called the office, I was told that somebody would get back to me in a few hours. (That's what happened, too!) Consequently, Mike Kelly called me back. After Mike listened to my situation, and after he asked a couple of pertinent questions, this is basically what he said: "Don't get me wrong, especially in this economy, I don't want to pass up an opportunity to earn money, but--in all honesty--I believe that you would be far better off to call the city water company (PSD), ask them to remedy the backup problem because this was the 2nd time it happened, and then ask them to verify, in fact, if the underground problem (the driveway) was MY responsibility or THEIR responsibility. Because from your description of where the problem is, I think that the city is responsible for the repairs at that location, not you." Mike went on to tell me that the city is very cooperative and will not shirk their responsibility if that were, indeed, the situation. If that were NOT the case, Mike Kelly said that he would be happy to come out and do the work for me (by the way, his estimate was the lowest of all 3 plumbers). Not only that, but when the city DID come out to my home the very next morning, Mike Kelly stopped over to see if I was able to get hold of the water company. Unbelievable!!! The water company DID agree that it was their responsibility. They unstuffed the sewer, and next week they have already scheduled the DIGGING UP of my driveway to cure the problem for good! All this...at NO CHARGE TO ME. Clearly, that shows me that the city water company is VERY HONEST, and that Mike Kelly is also VERY HONEST! In a place where you hear horror stories about both the government AND service industry individuals taking advantage of customers, it is so refreshing to know that there are still honest and competent professionals out there! I WILL ALWAYS TURN TO MIKE KELLY FOR MY PLUMBING. PERIOD.

Michael Kelly is the plumber I dealt with. He came into my house once when I wasn’t here. He was recommended to me. He installed a new kind of sink. Anytime I had a problem after that, he was there within 24 hours. He knew that there was nobody here that could help me other than my husband who couldn’t talk and couldn’t walk. He was very in tune with that. I have never complained about his prices. The quality of his work is very good. His responsiveness is excellent and his punctuality is good. I had a hot water heater break up in the attic and I have two hot water heaters. He checked the other one and gave me a report on that. He also gave me a price on doing two at one time because the other one was going anyway. He was extremely fair and thorough.

Their work was okay. Their response was reasonable, but we did not like the fact that that the guy that came in wrapped our refrigerator and moved it out before we had a chance to stop him. We have wood floors and it made marks on the floor. We had a piece of glue on that we kept for rolling out the refrigerator onto so it did not damage the floor. We found that Mr. Kelly presumptuous and a bit overbearing. We did not care for him and my husband was furious about the floor. The work that they actually did was adequate, but it was just the general demeanor and the fact that there were two plumbers. We have used them before as well and used him because he advertised in our church bulletin.

Excellent! The price quoted was the one charged. The work was completed very professionally and in a short period of time. The service person had all of the products, equipment, etc with him and did not have to leave to go get something. He received a call frokm his office during the work and kept it very brief so as to not interrupt the job he was doing.

Sink stopped up on a Sunday night, tried Drano ... didn't work. Called Kelly & Sons (on Hilton Head Island, I try to support local contractors) at 7am Monday morning. Reached a person, wow #1! Got a call back by Mike (father) at 9:00am and said someone would be out between 10am - noon. Jacob (a son) arrived at 10:30am, neat and professional. Brought in his machine and cleaned out about 50 feet of drain line. Noticed that the disposal was not installed correctly (a local handyman job) and corrected that. He cleaned up after himself ... wow, a person answered, they followed up, they came when they said they would and they cleaned up after the repair! I did not ask the price in advance but it was fair for the service provided.

Mike Kelly really knows his business. I had 2 other plumbing co's look at my leak issue and told me I had a slab leak. I just didn't think they were right, so I went to Angie's List and found Mike Kelly. He confirmed that it wasn't a slab leak at all, but issues dealing with the old connections to the toilet, etc. What a releif to finally find a professional that had enought experience to know what needed to be repaired and was honest enough to shoot straight with me. I saved thousands of dollars because we didn't have to tear up the slab! Call Kelly & Sons, they're very professional and fast too!
