They're very honest. They were so honest with the price and they were pretty good with price. They were honest about the product. They're priced well. They're very knowledgeable about the whole industry. We're actually going to use them again in the future.

Great job and very pleased. We'll have them do our service work going forward.

The current system was 12 years old , and past repair. We called three firms for bids, and selected this firm based on NATE certified training, winner of 2013 Best of Bluffton , Angie's List reviews, and price competitiveness.. Steve came out and gave us a written detailed bid, and answered all our questions about our entire HVAC system. Then, Dean and his crew installed the unit a few days later. Again, this team was efficent, tidy, and answered all questions about operating the new system. Next day, Harold came over and did a full system test on the new unit, and made sure we had no additional questions. Harold also figured out what was wrong with another HVAC system we have. Our prior HVAC company had looked at this unit a few times, and never fixed it properly. The next week, Harold came back with the correct parts and repaired the unit. We also signed up for semi annual maintenance contract on all the HVAC units in our home, We can't say enough great things about the honest answers given, quality of service, and professional team!

Every step from the technician who made the proposal, to the installers and to the quality control person sent the day after the installation went flawlessly. I did send an evaluation re Gochnauer rating at an earlier date.

They gave us a very good deal and I was very happy with them. They were very thorough. They were up in the attic checking everything. There's no cost for the last service.

They were very professional. We were so happy we are now having them service our units and they have done an incredibe job!! I would rate them a 10 while the other company was a 2!

Shortly after moving into our home in July we experienced a AC failure of the main 5 ton zone and the temperatures soared while we were dealing with the move in activities. We checked Angie's List and the Rose Hill Plantation websites and a few contacts for recommended HVAC contractors since we were not thrilled with the one we used at our Rose Hill Property. We contacted two from Angie's List. The first one which I won't name since they do in fact have a good reputation (some neighbors swear by them) came out and delivered the news that the exterior coil had been "rigged" via soldering to pass inspection and we'd need a completely new system given the 7 year age of the units. This turned out to be accurate, but I didn't like the demeanor of the service tech and felt like I was being "sold." We got a bid from them and their Carrier line of equipment turned out to be more expensive than a superior Trane system bid from Gochnauer Now the Gochnauer experience. The tech from Gochnauer came out the evening of the next day, on short notice really, and was a very affable guy who went to work diagnosing the system from the exterior. He too determined in short order that the exterior coil had been tampered with and we had ZERO refrigerant left in the system. He felt bad delivering the news, and went on the explain our options, the costs, and pros and cons of each. His demeanor was nice and affable as mentioned, he was patient, honest, and wasn't pushing hard one way or the other. He allowed me to determine which approach and the risk factors I was willing to accept based upon his observations. It was evident he knew his trade well, and wasn't motivated by a commission plan. We received a range of bids from them within a couple of days for different efficiency system configurations, and the air cleaners we had inquired about. Due to Trane's rebate program we were able to get a very high efficiency system for less than the mid-tier system. They installed it all the next Saturday as we were suffering. The installation team was HIGHLY professional, and courteous too. They wore shoe booties in the house, put down drop cloths in the path of work to the attic, they picked up their debris, and left a clean work site in the attic, inside and outside. The installation work was very well done, not sloppy. A quality control tech came out 2 days later to inspect the work and instruct us on the high end thermostat. Then a different tech came out about a week later to perform a thorough maintenance and cleaning of the other two zones. He was here for at least 3.5 hours or more as the systems hadn't been serviced in a while and were very dirty. Once again, affable, professional and polite. Explained everything, what he found, what they would do at the next 6 month service interval, etc. and left detailed records with me and the same would go into their files at the office. Long story short, I am "blown away" at how impressed I am with this HVAC company. Best I have ever encountered in 4 states. Some of the best most experienced techs in the area, they are happy to be with Gochnauer, their attitude transcends to the customer experience, and they were not the most expensive bidder. BTW, the manager, office staff, and maintenance scheduler are also really fine people. I am not a push over and border line OCD, so I have high expectations of the caliber of work I expect to receive for a fair price. Contractors that take serious pride in their workmanship and professionalism are increasingly harder to find. Gochnauer exceeded my expectations in all respects, and deserves a gushing review.

Very thorough, noted any potential problems but did not try to up sell anything we didn't need

We contracted with Gochnauer in 2011 to replace 2 HVAC units and a third in 2012. The compressor housings for the newer, higher efficiency units are sighnificantly larger than the 12 year old units they replaced and they barely fit in the service yard enclosure. Once our service yard was expanded, I had Gochnauer come back to relocate the units for maximum efficiency. I had this done at the same time they were replaceing a compressor part under warranty. We have been very happy with Gochnauer through the process of HVAC replacement, semi-annual service, and this latest repair and relocation project.

Our former provider made our lives miserable. After reviewing Gochnauer online, we gave them a shot and are not disappointed. They gave us some suggestions that worked with regard to the humidity in our home. If our former provider had given us this suggestion two years ago, we wouldn't have experienced the mold issues after they had installed new units. Highly recommend Gochnauer.

I could not have been happier. My A/C sounded like a water feature with all the dripping and it's a new unit. With some pvc pipe and some labor he solved the problem at no extra charge... fantastic!

Did bi-annural maintenance . - Spent 3 hrs doing thorough testing of 3 units. Thought price was fair. Also gave me information about how to get better air flow in house.

Done on time. Work completed in timely manor. Fixed all problems with ducting. Installed a vent where all other companies said it could not be done.

Old 4 ton system stopped working due to a leak in the condenser coil. The maintenance company checked it out and put some freon in it for a charge of $307 and said as it was already 9 years old it was not worth the cost of repair. They quoted a new top end Carrier system for approx $11,000. A few hours after they left the unit stopped working again so the $307 got us a couple of hours of cooling. The next day I decided to get additional estimates and called a different company Gochnauer as I see their trucks in my area a lot. They sent Steve over the next morning and he looked at everything, confirmed it was not worth fixing the old unit and quoted $8341 after a factory rebate for a top end Trane system. He said that would include everything. Two days later the two installers showed up right on schedule and worked nonstop to get the old unit out and new one in. The temperature was in the 90s and they never took a break. The left almost 7 hours later and we were cool again. A few days later they sent a technician Harold over to check out the installation and answer any questions. He spent almost two hours doing this in a very thorough manner. I am very happy with the system and Gochnauer as they were very professional. I look forward to having Gochnauer maintain my system for years to come.

Excellent coordination to have new system installed quickly since my home was without cooling during a hot summer period. When I asked that they remove my heat pump a day earlier so I can demo the wood fencing that I needed to demo to accommodate the bigger unit, a team of techs showed up on time and removed the heat pump for me. The new HVAC system was professionally installed the following day. Gochnauer Mechanical was first rate throughout; their office staff got an estimator out quickly; the estimator, Steve was highly informative and matched a system to my home's needs and my picket book; their office kept me well informed; and installers worked extremely well with me. I highly recommend Gochnauer Mechanical.

everything went well. system is old but still working. bought a twice a year tune up inspection for 150.oo tech. was on time and very pleasant and knowledgeable would us again

They were great. Their pricing was the lowest of the quotes I requested. My old system was leaking and with it being a rental unit I wanted a dependable system in for the summer rental season. They were able to install the new system in a timely manner as I needed it ASAP. Between signing the contract and their installation, the old system broke down and they sent someone out to get it running at no charge to keep it cool until they could replace it, that was a pleasant surprise. They also included a wi-fi thermostat so that I can control the settings from an app on my phone which is a major benefit for me since the previous cleaning company left the cool setting at 52 degrees for a long period of time. Other places were going to make me buy a Nest and then charge an additional service fee to install it. Their servicemen were professional and got the job done when they said they wood. I would use them again and recommend them to anyone looking for good pricing and great customer service!

Excellent. Their services were wonderful . You would never even know they were there during the install. Clean. And no issues. Their Pricing was the best out of estimates from EAC, Carolina Air and Mr Central. I liked the explanations/education from Carolina Air during estimate on what was needed but their pricing was not as reasonable. (They would be my back up choice). Gochnauer comes with a great reputation. Steve who did my quote (not once but twice for me since it had been a whole year later.) was just excellent and very informative and always punctual and truly tried to satisfy my needs and listen. The follow up guy that did the testing on the unit was very professional and punctual as well. Overall price wise and professional wise this is my company of choice and I will continue to do business and recommend them.

Gochnauer was one of 3 vendors asked to bid on the project. Their estimator arrived on time and was polite an thorough in his inspection and estimation of the job. Provided detailed written quotes for all aspects of the job as requested. They were not the least costly but were close to the other bids. Went with them based upon their reputation on AL and as well our neighbor had used them for a similar project with very good results. Duct removal and haul away was very efficient. Team showed up right on time and rarely slowed down even for breaks. Were very diligent. Impressed. Same true for the installation of the ductwork. Equipment installation was likewise very efficient. Installers were polite and informative. Took great care not to track dirt on white carpets. Laid tarps and wore booties to cover feet. Tested the equipment after installation and had a quality assurance man come by a week later for an overall quality audit. Very professional I thought. The only issue that we had was with the electronics. The thermostats we chose were the latest models that enable internet/smart phone monitoring and control of your HVAC. It took a replacement of a relay switch and a good week or so of followup (my own and Gochnauer) to get both Stats communicating to each other and as well to the WiFi in the home. Gochnauer was very responsive throughout though and we eventually got everything right. No problems since (2 months). A bit annoying but I would say that it was likely part of the learning curve of very new (out only months) technology. Would recommend the system despite the initial hassle. Overall a very good experience and would use them again. Will have them service our equipment under a maintenance agreement.
