Pillar to Post Home Inspections

After signing our home purchase agreement in South Carolina we needed to go back to New Jersey to sell our existing home there. So we were at a bit of a disadvantage since we were unable to attend the inspection. Ed Hopkins was fantastic! His report was excellent, with detailed descriptions and photos of items that needed to be addressed. It also included essential maintenance tips to protect the house going forward. While repairs were being made by the seller, Ed was responsive to our questions and provided excellent advice on a few issues. We engaged him again for a reinspection prior to closing, and he gave us updates on all items, resolved and unresolved. Ed Hopkins is a true professional with extensive knowledge and is thorough, reliable and a pleasure to deal with. Thanks, Ed for being a tremendous help to us.

Ed Hopkins was extremely professional. As I was not able to be there, he was happy to meet my son-in-law at the end of the inspection to explain some of the issues that he had found. The inspection lasted from 1 PM until 4 PM and I had an electronic summary and detailed report emailed to me by 8 PM that day. His report was detailed, explanatory, and included pictures to better illustrate what he was describing. I sent the summary to the sellers' realtor and requested that the identified issues be repaired. When the seller balked at some of the issues I talked to Ed and asked him which items were "must repair" and which were less urgent. Although he does not normally get involved in this part of a real estate transaction he was happy to assist me. Ed's advice led to a reasonable agreement between the sellers and me. I had to call Ed a few times during the process and he always returned my calls as soon as he could...even on a weekend when I told him in the voicemail that it would be fine with me if he waited until Monday to return my call. He is pretty busy, but he never gave an impression that I was bothering him. He gave me a choice of payment options-I used PayPal. I would wholeheartedly recommend Ed Hopkins/Pillar-to-Post to anybody seeking a thorough, professional, reasonably priced Home Inspector. I wish I could give 6 stars.

It was really well. He showed up early, presented and carried himself professionally, and took the time to answer any question we had. After the inspection he also answered follow up questions to assist the seller in completing our requested repairs.

He was very professional, and very thorough. He brought good equipment with him, and was careful not to damage or mark up the walls during his inspection. He also runs his operation electronically, and was able to provide a report on the same day as the inspection. The report was well done.
